Snobby southern cunts, maybe it'll do them good to learn how to start life like this and remove themselves from their snooty mothers teet. They should be grateful for what they have. I've seen much worse accommodation and i would imagine there are many millions of people far worse off, unable to have the opportunities most British students so dismissively waste.
@pegmanofthenight yeah I went to stay at a mate's student house in leeds a few years back and they left the back door open so much that wildlife had literally taken over their kitchen
im glad my student house isnt anything like that, though previous tenants and landlords are really crap at making sure the house is liveable when people move out, though we were lucky enough not to have any stationery problems (e.g. damp, etc), the amount of cleaning i had to do when i moved in was stupid
come on when iwas a student i would have been please to live in a lovely house like that but we had a box (it was a big one)and that was cold just put on a jumper or get into out sleeping bags together that keep us warm.
The landlord is correct to ask you to open the windows more to ventilate the room and stop running that salt under the tap. Buy a portable gas heater between yourselves for about £60 and a bottle of gas lasts about 2 weeks.Failing that just put extra clothes on as you are young enough not to die of hypothermia.
If your saying its colder inside than it is inside, open your windows and let the warmer air in... but you said you wont because its winter.. make your mind up!!
Exactly as mine!@!!!!! Feel for you guys, im sufferring the same as well, god im in the contract. The crap property company only know how to take advantages of poor students! Im trying to make a video to tell everyone about the horrible thing. Can anyone help? Ive chosen the background music, but dont know whatelse to do to make the video.
Well a lot of the time it's hard to get a contract that fits in with your academic life (like a full 12 month contract) So you get landlords that specialize in dealing with students, and they nearly all fuck you over in one way or another. Getting a third rate service is the norm, and most students let them get away with it because we normally don't have a choice
I think you will find in British law if you have signed a contract to stay / rent / live in a property you can not get out of that contract. If you leave you will loose your deposit or be forced to pay for duration of the contract.
The students did not see the extent of the damage and poor conditions when the property was made available to them.
Do you not read before you write? For a start, by reading the description: "their land lord has released them from their contract". Do you often break contracts? No. You see, things happen when you do. Bad things. And i'm sure they wouldn't wnat your feigned sympathy anyway, sounds like they had enough problems as it is
Sooooo many students live in much worse. It doesn't seem that bad at all. I does suck when it gets to winter and suddenly realise how cold a student house is tho.

You can get out of the contract if the conditions are unsuitable
