this is hell to an emetophobe. i saw this movie when i was like 7 or 8, and i haven't watched it since. i'm here to see if i can get through it. i can't. when ppl puke on "House", it doesn't bother me too much, but this is so violent and graphic.
I used to love this when I was younger, now that I'm older I see the genius in his speech. When we take things they call it "steeling," when police men do it they call it "commandeering." When we take a someone against their will it's called "kidnapping." when the government does it they call it "rendition." I could go on and on but it would be pointless. The laws are meant to be obeyed not questioned, and that's what Jack was pointing out about God (authority) in his speech.
@Johnlindsey289 Yeah, i saw this in theaters and i thought it had some pretty disgusting moments, especially the scene where Veronica Cartwright explosively vomits up all the cherry pits. Still a great, funny movie though and one of my faves. Michelle and Susan were both smoking hot in this movie.
He has almost the same laugh in every one of his movies, but I would be lying if I said that Jack Nicholson wasn't one of the most entertaining actors to watch in the history of motion pictures. Long live Jackie Jack.
DAMN FUCKING WOMEN !!!!!!!!!!!! YES , GOD DID IT TO US ON PURPOSE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!THEY EVEN GIVE THE DEVIL HELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (PUN INTENDED) OF COURSE WE ALL KNOW THE REAL DEVIL MUST BE A WOMAN - I SHOULD KNOW, I DATED HER !
Dumb question. What the %#@$ is with this movie and the excessive vomit explosions? I remember watching this movie as a toddler in the playpen and I threw up watching people in this movie throw up. Every scene in this movie, I remember pitching plumes of either oatmeal or applesauce everywhere like the reliability of Old Faithful. You'll never get me to eat cherries to this day, or listen to Cher's music. Thank you coincidence.
@iselldummysmacks Well what exactly were you doing watching this sort of movie when you were a young toddler? Guess your parents didn't know how to use parental supervision.
I laughed very hard when I first heard this. When God makes a mistake they cal it nature. I never did get the answer did God make a mistake when he made women or did he do it to us on purpose. Jack Nicolson at his finest.

Yeah. Its exactly like every other jack Nicholson role. i wonder why he bothers with even having a movie if he is going to do the same scary psycho act in each one. I never liked him in this. darryl van Horne is supposed to be sexier and smoother. Its a miscasting.
That is pretty hilarious. I think it's funny how Jack comes in and the preacher keeps doing his thing like it's the most normal thing in the world then finally stops. Lol.
i don't understand this film. it's funny though- i watched it when i was like 10- i havnt seen it since, so i get it a little more now. lol gross- i dnt like grape- juice anymore- is that Cher?

@iselldummysmacks two scenes of the cherry vomit. thats all. this and the scene for the crazy lady. and they are related.

@iselldummysmacks It was kind of a late 80's early 90's thing. Stand By Me and Problem Child 3 are good examples of the trend.

It was pure hysterics when Jack Nicholson, given the role of Darryl Van Horne seemed to be coming out from a mental insanity asylum.

Neither of those compare to Daniel Craig's opening monologue for Layer Cake. THAT's brilliance, but Jack comes in a close second :D
