although the graphics are not great, I enjoy sims over FPS any day. This game seems much more realistic than the other battle games out there. Mainly because those FPS games are usually based on capture the flag.

And besides, even DICE mentioned that realism and fun was balanced, so the game isnt completely realistic like Arma II. It still has arcadey elements.

ARMA II works as a battle simulator not a game, while battlefield 3 will offer very detailed and destructible environment, but ARMA II offers the realistic sense of warfare, with many many more additions that are just outstanding, all player-made content. Don't get the Phenom. It's cheaper than the Intel because it's under-performing. That's why Intel is so expensive. Remember this when it comes to processors: the higher the price, the better the performance. If you're on a budget, yeah, AMD is the way to go. But honestly: for ArmA, Intel Sandy Bridge is your best bet.

The custom keyboard is one of the major reason for its absurd price. Anyways I'm happy, plus its not my fault the game is not runnable for most. The game is unoptimized.

@xXEnkeixpressXx Even though Im a battlefield fan, Arma is classified as a military simulator. It is 100x more realistic than Battlefield 2 which is more realistic than Bad Company 2.

Only have a integrated GPU right now but it says it will run on minimum. Guess I'll get the 6950 when Battlefield 3 launches.

Don't worry too much about your GFX card. What you need is a GOOD processor to max it out. You need a 1st gen i7+ or a Sandy Bridge i5+ to max this game.

I was leaning more towards a Phenom II x6 1100t because it scored more points than the i7 940 and it's like $500 cheaper. I don't get Intel when it comes to prices :-/

Don't get the Phenom. It's cheaper than the Intel because it's under-performing. That's why Intel is so expensive. Remember this when it comes to processors: the higher the price, the better the performance. If you're on a budget, yeah, AMD is the way to go. But honestly: for ArmA, Intel Sandy Bridge is your best bet.

Not true. An Intel i5 2500K (Sandy Bridge) processor is much faster than your run of the mill i7 960.

@TR0L0L0LO Run of the mill, I use the Asus G73JW, better than that overpriced Alienware m17x. In fact the reason why it costs so much is because of the design layout. The custom keyboard is one of the major reason for its absurd price. Anyways I'm happy, plus its not my fault the game is not runnable for most. The game is unoptimized.
