@ferntsi Hundreds of dog bites are reported every year. Labradors actually have had high #s of reports for bites. The more popular the breed, the more bites it is going to have reported... more people own them, more irresponsible people breed them, more irresponsible people can get ahold of them. Dogs are what we make them. Breed them incorrectly & for the wrong reasons, you're going to get a screwed up, unstable dog. Give that unstable dog to someone who won't exercise, train, etc. it & BAM.
@ferntsi It's more than just the owner... Breeder has more to do with it. People deny it, but the way a dog is bred affects it mental & physical health a LOT. If a breeder focuses on rare colors & big heads, they forget to focus on important things like a stable mind & good health... as a result most of the puppies produced after a few generations are going to have unstable temperaments&minds. Dog genetics are complicated so I don't expect close-minded, ignorant people online to understand.

If bred, trained, & raised incorrectly yes they can absolutely be unpredictable. This is a breed that is very powerful & requires a lot of stimulation.. w/o daily needs met, they can very well become dangerous. Its up to the people breeding, selling, & handling them to make them ambassadors. A JRT has small teeth & is a breed that bites, lets go, & bites again. A Pit has large teeth & is designed to bite, hold, shake. JRT is still dangerous. Both dogs would be dangerous & should be PTS.
i found the story to the dog in 1:18 made me sick 3 teens "needed something to kill not human" so they took a harmless dog who didnt even fight back during the murder never mind the taking of the dog and did those heartbreaking things to the poor family pet! it really needs to stop, governments need to crack down more give worse punishments in ways they 'truely' deserve so next time some inhumane person goes to do something like this to a dog they think twice on what they are doing.
Pit-Bulls are NOT killers, its the owners that make them that way, yea i know they are know as killers, but they are born just like any-other loving, sweet, caring animal, that may need some love. My Sister works for a small rescue shelter for dogs and pitbulls are focused on the most, the buisness is called secondhand hounds, and right now my sister is watching over her own pitbull named Rhino, he's the laziest dog ever, and most of the time is always looking for affection. There's Zoologists who can get Tigers and Lioms to be friendly, but that doesnt make them safe pets. I know a family who had a PitBull for 6 years since it was a pup, they thought their Pit had become family friendly. One day it attacked their 12 year old son leaving an inch deep cut and a giant chunk of skin missing from his leg.
I agree bad owners cause problems, but it takes two to tango. Pitbulls were bred to fight, it has a violent trait inherant in its genes.

Human tolerance was something that was required 4 a dog 2 live. BUT bad breeding has led 2 some bad lines; any breed that popular is bound to get issues.

@marbinx I am no idiot, I know a lot about Terriers. I've grown around them & have spent years drowning myself in research. I've watched a Rat Terrier puppy kill a rat, & I've watched an APBT attack a possum & successfully kill it. It's what they were meant for, it's what they do.
I'm defending the breed, but I do so with the facts. I'm not going to candy coat it & say these dogs would never hurt a fly. They would hunt down that fly & swallow it whole. They are not human killers at all, we created them to be our best friends that could assist us in hunt.

@KevinWCuts Pit Bulls definitely have a lot of prey drive (in most cases). Animal aggression isn't related/connected/doesn't lead to human aggression at all, so if your dog expresses her prey drive it's nothing to be worried about.... just maybe keep them away from the poor wild critters so they don't get any diseases!
@marbinx As I have said, the only thing that will make a dog attack a human is a human. We caused the issues that turned these magnificent family dogs into a statistic on the dang. breeds list. We ruined them when they reached perfection, we can surely reverse our actions & make these the #1 family dogs once again.

I own an A.P.B.T. she is a rescue from a backyard breeder, at the age of two this dog had been bred relentlessly beaten and starved. I admit when we first went to get her I was apprehensive I have never owned an A.P.B.T. When I met her my heart melted at the look in her eyes when her eyes met mine, she looked at me in the eye and it said it all "Please save me" I took her home, she was originally a foster at the end of her 4th pregnancy.
I am 13 and I work 3-4 times a week with dogs from the Humane Society and Animal Control. Most all the pit bulls I have met have been Huge lap dogs that want only to please people.
I dont completely agree. Pits are agressive dogs. I think they are beautiful but thats just their nature. They dont really need to be around children. That's just my opinion.
Their nature to to be aggressive to animals; they are TERRIERS. Terriers are naturally animal aggressive. They will attack any animal you wish them to; they are people pleasers. They want nothing more than to make their owner happy. The only dogs that will turn on their owners, are the badly bred and incorrectly raised ones.
And no dog should ever be around children unless their is supervision. Any dog can hurt a baby, they are fragile. But any properly raised dog is great with kids, even Pits.

@TheGermanmoose: Most Terrier breeds ARE born with some degree of aggression towards animals, however there is always an exception. But the majority of terrier dogs should be expected to have a high prey drive and should be well supervised around small animals.
The Pit Bull in 1:18 had been beaten to death while tethered to a tree.

All dogs need 3 things exercise, discipline and affection! With a working breed ( pit bulls) Socialization skills also works wonders! Dont bash them unless youve had one! People like you never stop to consider the factors of the attack- was the dog intact, unsocialized, neglected, abused, pregnant, etc.? These are all factors that are extremely popular in the breed that very easily trigger attacks. And were you running? That would also be another factor. Terriers naturally want to chase/attack anything that is quickly running away from them.
The only thing that causes bad dog is bad owners. Plain and simple.
And my friends hair triggered Collie attacked a friend of mines causing 58 stiches. It's not that common to find a human aggressive pit bull however dog/animal aggression is very common in this breed, they do willingly fight out of know where, even brothers and sisters that have had never shown aggression to one another. Brady, my brothers pit bull who is in this video at 0:04 - 0:08 being fedm by my little 2nd cousin is the sweetest dog to ever walk on this planet. he loves everyone and seriously thinks that he is teddy bear. No agressivion at all. We have two other dogs, a Beagle and a Chihuahua. The Beagle is food agressive and will attack any animal near his food. When he doesn't want to move he goes psycho like Cujo and will attack you. The Chi doesn't like strangers and my sister.

Pit Bulls are terriers and are naturally vicious. Just not to people. You can even ask actual DOG FIGHTERS and they will inform you that even their FIGHTING DOGS would never hurt a human. @ferntsi Hundreds of dog bites are reported every year. Labradors actually have had high #s of reports for bites. The more popular the breed, the more bites it is going to have reported... more people own them, more irresponsible people breed them, more irresponsible people can get ahold of them. Dogs are what we make them. Breed them incorrectly & for the wrong reasons, you're going to get a screwed up, unstable dog. Give that unstable dog to someone who won't exercise, train, etc. it & BAM.

@ferntsi It's more than just the owner... Breeder has more to do with it. People deny it, but the way a dog is bred affects it mental & physical health a LOT. If a breeder focuses on rare colors & big heads, they forget to focus on important things like a stable mind & good health... as a result most of the puppies produced after a few generations are going to have unstable temperaments&minds. Dog genetics are complicated so I don't expect close-minded, ignorant people online to understand.

If bred, trained, & raised incorrectly yes they can absolutely be unpredictable. This is a breed that is very powerful & requires a lot of stimulation.. w/o daily needs met, they can very well become dangerous. Its up to the people breeding, selling, & handling them to make them ambassadors. A JRT has small teeth & is a breed that bites, lets go, & bites again. A Pit has large teeth & is designed to bite, hold, shake. JRT is still dangerous. Both dogs would be dangerous & should be PTS.

i found the story to the dog in 1:18 made me sick 3 teens "needed something to kill not human" so they took a harmless dog who didnt even fight back during the murder never mind the taking of the dog and did those heartbreaking things to the poor family pet! it really needs to stop, governments need to crack down more give worse punishments in ways they 'truely' deserve so next time some inhumane person goes to do something like this to a dog they think twice on what they are doing.

Thank you for posting this video! My first rescue just passed over last year, after being our family's protector, guardian of our home, and loyal companion, for 13 years. She was seized from an illegal fighting racket, yet she was gentle and friendly to all humans she ever met. My new pal is a young male who was abandoned at a local shelter, and he's sweet as could be. Thank you so much; (but the photos of abused APBTs brought tears to my eyes...)

There's Zoologists who can get Tigers and Lioms to be friendly, but that doesnt make them safe pets. I know a family who had a PitBull for 6 years since it was a pup, they thought their Pit had become family friendly. One day it attacked their 12 year old son leaving an inch deep cut and a giant chunk of skin missing from his leg.
I agree bad owners cause problems, but it takes two to tango. Pitbulls were bred to fight, it has a violent trait inherant in its genes.

They wanted 2 avoid having couch potatos, because it wasn't what the breed was meant 4. They were very peculiar about what dogs were bred, & any that showed human aggression was culled. Human tolerance was something that was required 4 a dog 2 live. BUT bad breeding has led 2 some bad lines; any breed that popular is bound to get issues.

Animal aggression isn't related/connected/doesn't lead to human aggression at all, so if your dog expresses her prey drive it's nothing to be worried about.... just maybe keep them away from the poor wild critters so they don't get any diseases!

To all pretenders, pitbulls are are loving, smart and caring but unfortunately they have a switch that flips and its this flip that scares people. I have had over 150 dogs and bitches and the pit bulls i have had have been dedicated and loyal but over aggressive and sometimes stubborn.
I have 4 generations of pit/lab/wolf currently and the pit in them gives an incredible desire.

I own an A.P.B.T. she is a rescue from a backyard breeder, at the age of two this dog had been bred relentlessly beaten and starved. I admit when we first went to get her I was apprehensive I have never owned an A.P.B.T. When I met her my heart melted at the look in her eyes when her eyes met mine, she looked at me in the eye and it said it all "Please save me" I took her home, she was originally a foster at the end of her 4th pregnancy.

Their nature to to be aggressive to animals; they are TERRIERS. Terriers are naturally animal aggressive. They will attack any animal you wish them to; they are people pleasers. They want nothing more than to make their owner happy. The only dogs that will turn on their owners, are the badly bred and incorrectly raised ones.
And no dog should ever be around children unless their is supervision. Any dog can hurt a baby, they are fragile. But any properly raised dog is great with kids, even Pits.

@TheGermanmoose: Most Terrier breeds ARE born with some degree of aggression towards animals, however there is always an exception. But the majority of terrier dogs should be expected to have a high prey drive and should be well supervised around small animals.
The Pit Bull in 1:18 had been beaten to death while tethered to a tree.

People like you never stop to consider the factors of the attack- was the dog intact, unsocialized, neglected, abused, pregnant, etc.? These are all factors that are extremely popular in the breed that very easily trigger attacks. And were you running? That would also be another factor. Terriers naturally want to chase/attack anything that is quickly running away from them.
The only thing that causes bad dog is bad owners. Plain and simple.

It's not that common to find a human aggressive pit bull however dog/animal aggression is very common in this breed, they do willingly fight out of know where, even brothers and sisters that have had never shown aggression to one another. @7merman1 How do you know it was for no reason? Perhaps he was raised incorrectly or has a issue with other dogs?? Don't be so closed minded. ANY dog can be unpredictable but NOTHING happens for no reason.

Even a bloody poodle made my mates pitbull drop it's balls and run away scared.Wanna know why his pitbull decided not to attack?.Because it has never been abused not once it's owner cares for it and isn't one of those idiots who use the dogs for fighting and to look cool.Blame the deed not the breed.

ive never had a pittbull ive never even been around 1 as odd as that may sound but ive had terriers and i have a bulldog and i dont see how a pitt can be any worse sence they are a mixture of bulldog and terrier

Brady, my brothers pit bull who is in this video at 0:04 - 0:08 being fedm by my little 2nd cousin is the sweetest dog to ever walk on this planet. he loves everyone and seriously thinks that he is teddy bear. No agressivion at all. We have two other dogs, a Beagle and a Chihuahua. The Beagle is food agressive and will attack any animal near his food. When he doesn't want to move he goes psycho like Cujo and will attack you. The Chi doesn't like strangers and my sister.

(sorry for all of the spelling mistakes. I type fast.) Brady (pit) had been abused during his life. The Chi didn't have a great life either. Our Beagle, who we raised from a puppy, wasn't trained at all. It is our fault, really. The point of this? Dogs who are well trained, socialized, and properly cared for will be a great dogs. And honestly, have you researched American Pit bull Terriers? I have. For two years, in fact. So you have NO right to call them dangerous when you DO NOT KNOW THEM!

Pit Bulls are terriers and are naturally vicious. Just not to people. You can even ask actual DOG FIGHTERS and they will inform you that even their FIGHTING DOGS would never hurt a human. And was that "Pit Bull" intact, unsocialized, untrained, and abused? More than likely. There are a lot of factors that lead to dog attacks, but a dogs breed is not one of them. A Pomeranian killed a child once, but does that mean that all Poms are vicious and need to die? No.

@marbinx Lol excuse me? Evidently you don't know Terriers hun. They are born and bred to kill. Not humans, but animals. Yes, they are naturally vicious. Ever seen a Jack Russell puppy kill a rat out of pure instinct? I have, and it's a beautiful sight if you ask me. Terriers are meant to kill, it's their job, their purpose, their entire reason for creation. They weren't bred to be pretty little lap dogs.
