I came from China,and my TEACHERS and CLASSMATES made fun of MADE IN CHINA,I am a shy people in real life ,they don't care about what i feel,I feel i am a coward to not argue and fight with them.Therefore i grow to hate singapore,i have to leave this country full of [singaporean are perfectly non-racist]nationalitist....

I really don't know who your teachers and classmates are..All I can say is that you (were) mixing with the wrong bunch of people. Fellow Chinese from mainland China who are studying and working in Singapore come from different family background and are of different intellectual levels...there may be some mainland Chinese that some Singaporeans may not be too comfy wth....

@lovebeijingful I have a really good friend who came from Mainland China, and I also have my share of bad experiences with immigrants from China. The same goes to born and breed Singaporeans.

What I'm trying to say is that try not to contextualise your problem into a matter of Xenophobic Singaporeans. Rather, take it as a common social problem experienced by many teenagers today.

I am only 15, I came to SIngapore when I was 10,more than 90% of my schoolmates are Singaporean,I 've been in Singapore 5 years,and I 've never left this island for the past 5 years.I have mixed and interacted with many Singaporeans,BUT,the more interaction I have with singaporean,the more i feel that singaporean ....sux....the more i feel like i should leave this country sooner or late.the longer time i stay singapore,the more i feel love for my beloved hometwon GREAT CHINA

@lovebeijingful my dear lovebeijingful : Singaporeans, to begin with, are not, and cannot be racist (as you mentioned earlier) cos of our multi-racial society. May be it's cos you have low self-esteem to begin with. So many mainland Chinese are doing so well at school and many Singaporeans are looking up at their industriousness and focused-nature. I think your experience must be one of the most lopsided one.

We're living in the 21st century..min wages of S$800-900 is not relevant to this day..The main income to survive our daily needs. Can't we just raise the min wages to S$1000 monthly to cope with today unpredictable economy.

@podster05 The people need to be able to become productive enough for them to be paid higher.... There are ppl being paid lower in other countries... If someone else in another country is willing to pay less. SIngapore will become less competitive.

I disagree with your view of the minimum wage. A minimum wage allows for a basic standard of human decency to be had and even if there is less employers, quantiatively the more workers have jobs (in multiple fields).

seriously, Singapore is trying 2 solve the aging population problem by granting PR's to foreign talent 2 lure them 2 stay permanently in the state. but d gov't is favoring chinese mainlanders to migrate this will create d problem of loosing d cultural identity of singapore. time will come singapore will be 98-100% chinese. don't forget Singapore is a malayan peninsula & not a province of china.

Without the foreign talent, Singapore will not be what it is today, the so-called Asian economic miracle. Although the presence of them will pose challenge to local Singaporean and cause stiff competition, you have to recognize that in order for Singapore to survive and prosper, they have to excel themselves in every field. To do so, they have to attract talent from all the world.
