  • They're neither zombies nor robots. They're liches, and the Soul Gems are their phylactery. By extension then, the Witches are in fact demiliches.

Anyone with familiarity with D&D, YOU KNOW THIS TO BE TRUE.

  • この不安定な音がなんともいえない

  • まどかの音楽って内容に沿ってていいですね。

    この絵は誰の作品なんかな?さやかの悲しい表情がとてもいいです。

  • @Gabriel You are very correct.

  • terribly beautiful <3

  • wow i never seen madoka but the bgm is totally awesome Ouo <3

  • Oooooh...Very beautiful <3

  • Excuse me, Marly? 63Maou1 used to have a youtube account. why did he close it?

  • @coorokun555 I honestly do not know, sorry. I myself was susprised by it, to be honest. :/

  • @MarlyFlowerXI Oh... :(

  • Oktavia von Seckendorff , A mermaid witch with a nature that is falling in love . She wanted attention from people . Specialy from Kamijou . So maybe thats why she wears a pink ribbon The pink ribbon is a sign of attraction, since Madoka's mother mentioned in ep 1 that wearing a pink ribbon would attract attention. Poor her

  • I really felt bad for Sayaka. First, she finds out her body isnt even her real one. HER SOUL GOT SUCKED OUTTA HER BODY AND GOT PUT IN AN EGG. YES AN EGG!!!!! I mean i would cry if that happened.

Second, her friend just ripped her off and stole Sayaka's crush!! I guess a crush really is a CRUSH.

Third, wtf. PUELLA MAGI FRICKIN TURN INTO WITCHES IF ONE FEELS DREAD. SO THEY CANT SHOW THEIR EMOTIONS TO ANYONE?!!!

    Ok my rant is done

  • I think I'm gonna cryT^T

Poor Sayaka, wish you all the happiness.

    Oktavia is cool, either.

  • This anime also teaches you not sell your soul because in the end you will lose. Poor Sayaka. If these girls only weren't naive, this would never happened.

  • @PuellaMagiChiharu

    What are you talking about?

those girls had no idea they ware selling their soul; it teaches nothing in that aspect.

And those girls waren't naive, QB tricked them.

I keep seeing people calling those girls 'stupid', but lets face it- the way the anima turned out surprised even us, the viewers.

  • @SimonFallheart /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\: They were naive and so were you for thinking it could have turned out otherwise. Human beings are inherently naive. Just the fact you see my treatment of them as "trickery" shows that. Good thing too, otherwise we'd never get any energy out of you! I told each one of them the truth, they just didn't ask for the whole truth. Whose fault is that?

  • @Archimonde259

Allright mister wise-guy, you clearly know nothing about anime and never seen magical girl anima before.

Don't pretend to be QB, you are not him. and don't pretend the outcome wouldn't have cought you by suprise if not for the spoilers you red around the net (cuz why else watch it?)

bottom line: those girls waren't naive. QB could have gone around most questions they would have asked him. think I'm wrong? alright, prove it: what would YOU ask QB?

  • @SimonFallheart /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\: Alright. Disregarding this disbelief of yours... They hardly asked anything at all. I told them the basic information. They just assumed fighting witches was a catch in and of itself, and never asked for any long-term consequences of being a magical girl. It did benefit our kind to keep them in the dark, but I would not have lied to if they had pressed me.

  • @Archimonde259

QB never lied, yet he still tricked kyoko into thinking sayaka could be saved even after she pressed him.

there is nothing wrong in assuming that risking your life is the price you pay for power, nor in assuming that devoting your life to a goal is the price paid for a wish; there is nothing wrong with not inquiring further, espacially since QB would evade the questions, thuse making further questions a waste of time, thus making asking more questions foolishness.

  • @Archimonde259

As I said, there is nothing wrong with not inquiring further, espacially since QB would evade the questions, thuse making further questions a waste of time, thus making asking more questions foolishness- In short, you have been outsmarted by some teenage girls, so you call them stupid in hopes of masking that fact.

  • @SimonFallheart /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\: All she had to do was ask, "Can she be saved, yes or no?"

You seem to be insinuating that I am able to feel such human emotions as "pride"? I am just stating things as they are. You, on the other hand, feel compelled by your pride to protect the "honor" of some girls you barely know and whose deaths contributed to keeping the universe safe. I see your species is so far away from ours that you can never accept our goals.

  • @Archimonde259

/人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\: "It has never happened before, but who knows? I don't."

...Is what i told her, and it worked.

You are a human, archimonde, and as the rest of your kind you are, in fact, capable of feeling pride. your insistance of keeping up pretending is a proof you humans are still mentally very far from the maturity needed to be joining us among the stars.

However, I'm glad you can see the importance of their sacrifce; would you like to make a contract?

  • @SimonFallheart ehhh ok I wish for all the puella magi girls to be alive again and not zombies :D

  • @ayame22976 Lol then they'd just turn into witches again

  • @ayame22976 They are alive, just... They're in bits of jewelry that have an expiration date. Their bodies are more like remote controlled robots than zombies.

  • WITNESS THE POWER OF YUKI KAJIURA!!

  • I still don't get why these girls fell to "despair", really, it's a very cool anime, but it's not correct compared to the real world. Thermodynamics, feelings work like "energy" and time. Really, desperation is something that not everyone falls into.

  • @Blasthood Kyubey chose who he made contracts witknowing how they would react and the tragedy they've already experienced. He wouldn't have made contracts with girls who wouldn't fall into despair. Also, it's not like feelings turning to energy as Ithink you were saying, but their emotions were what made the Soul Gems darken. It's the energy that's released when the girls transform into witches that Kyubey needs. :) Yeah, it's unrealistic, but it's a fantasy story, so nyeh XD

  • @Blasthood

It's using their magical powers that darkens their soul gem. didn't Mami teach you anything?

  • @SimonFallheart Mami is good only in bed after that... she loses her at the slightest bit of desperation.

  • @Blasthood /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\: All emotions balance each other out, so goes the universe. With hope comes an equivalent amount of despair. With joy, comes sadness. A wish generates immense amounts of positive emotions, which is balanced by negativity. It’s amazing how you humans have not understood that simple concept yet, even though you live with emotions every day while we Incubators know of them only what you show us. "Not correct"? How little you know the universe that surrounds you!

  • さやかは世界的に人気なんですね~

  • Isn't the song from the anime like, several hundred violins more grand?

  • You can hear the depth of her sorrow and feel the sting of betrayal.

  • To die without being known.

To die without having to experience love.

    Saddening. ;((

  • I was hoping in the end she could've reverted.. Stupid Hitomi, i hope she marries him!

  • Mediafire link is down. Could you reupload it?

  • @TehZoln It seems they revise their website. I added a direct link to the file to the description. Have fun!

  • It is just me or she looks like lelouch in the picture..

  • I don't know why but the video kept blinking green at different moments.. But somehow that made the song better. o_o

  • Mines always skipping, the song I mean.

  • This sounds like something out of an RPG.

And I mean that in the best way possible.

  • As composed by Erich Zann.

  • Dear god, why must it be so good?

I can't stop listening to the accursed piece. It is simply to perfect to be true.

  • I hear nothing

  • @kelsmister Hm? That´s weird. Maybe try it later again.

  • @kelsmister I THINK YOU SHOULD PUT IT TO 100% loud

  • Beautiful artwork!!

  • Thanks for the download link, you, awesome person ^_^

  • Was this on the original ost? Can't find it. :<

  • @Deitiy666 This isn't on the official ost, this one is fanmade.

    /watch?v=9iZw5VFW3vs

That one is the official version."Symposium magarum"

  • @MarlyFlowerXI does anyone have the piano score? the user linked in the description has closed their account :(

  • @darknightess I´ve found a MIDI file of the original piece. I added a link to the description. Have fun! :)

  • @darknightness what is the MIDI file?

  • @linselaful It goes by the name "「9話戦闘BGM」 by 魔法少女まどか☆マギカ "quite ate the bottom of the page.

  • i wish they used this theme on the upcoming madoka game in psp its sounds so sinister it fits becoming a boss theme rivaled those use in FF and atlus game boss theme.

  • The violin is the real star here. The distorted notes it makes means Oktavia's theme sounds terrifyingly sinister.

  • Screw you, Lucia. Real mermaids listen to classical.

  • My name is Octavia. I've never felt cooler :3

  • @bloodtearalchemist you were already cool

  • <3 I love sayaka !!!

  • Sayaka !!

  • I wish there was a full verison even longer....

  • i miss sayaka. </3

  • I am sure that Sayaka's Witch (Oktavia) represents the story of the little mermaid. Sayaka heals Kyousuke (whatever his name is, I barely cared about his name), but Kyousuke is oblivious of this, and Hitomi likes Kyousuke and she confesses in the end. On the otherhand, Sayaka, being a Puella Magi, feels that with her body, she cannot love him, because her soul is seperated from her. And she drowns in despair and she becomes Oktavia. *Litte memaid's story was originally tragic*

  • I can see this theme fitting in with Final Fantasy easily. Out of all of the games, it would have to FFVI.

  • Mermaid Melody ☆ Oktavia von Seckendorff.

  • @NinjaJedi Mermaid Melody?

  • @gabrielajocson

Mermaid Melody was a mediocre magical girl series where the girls where mermaids and their powers where music based.

Oktavia is like a horribly right version of that idea.

  • @NinjaJedi coincidence? I think not.

  • sayaka: i have to stop the witches!

kyubei: but sayaka, you ARE the witches.

    ... and then sayaka became a fish monster. ;_;

  • @japsocute nice reference :D

  • @japsocute Is it me, or does this remind anyone else strongly of Ophelia from Claymore?

  • ...This kinda sounds like dramatic Harvest Moon music.

  • This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO beautiful... superb.

  • Poor Sayaka. Makes me wish that she could be healed and restored to her human form somehow but alas, the writers just HAD to make it so this wasn't the case!

  • Yaaaay, someone else who's also watched Madoka three times! =D

  • I wonder why all witches had the regular runes but Oktavia had some sort of musical runes...

  • @zubieta Because Sayaka-Chan loved Kamijo-kun, and she was distaught from being a "zombie" in her words and she couldn't face Kamijo and how Hitomi was going to take him away from her. Then she saw those men talk awfully about their girlfriend and that destroyed her sense of justice. And as a Witch, you can get your wish granted, well almost. Charlotte had every sweet BUT the one she wanted and Oktavia could see Kamijo again, but he wouldn't acknowledge her.

  • @Superhero18 But what I mean is the runes that appear presenting the Witch name.

All the witches have regular runes (google Madoka Runes) but it seems that only Sayaka had some sort of differently formatted runes (resembling musical notation a lot)

  • @Superhero18 Nice to see someone else who studies witches. I love the witches and I study them, and design my own witches. I can be found on steam, with a friend, who also loves Madoka Magica.

  • @zubieta we knew the witch before she became a witch

  • This is a very moving melody, sort of a tragic dance hall music, like Dance of Pales from Castlevania: Symphony of The Night!

  • Added a link to the description for the MP3. If you use this track, please credit me, 63maou1 and SHAFT. The same goes for Mami´s theme.

  • @LaChicaMasTerca The image was made by Io (Ginno Tsuioku). You might to look him up on danbooru or Pixiv.

  • This is so beautiful T_T

  • I love Sayaka, this anime had so many twists that I thought Gainax was involved.

  • This song is too sad for Sayaka.

  • Hi, may I ask how did you made this? I love this so much, I actually wanted to use a program like finale to make a higher quality version of it, or do you happen to have a 320kbps version on hand? Would be nice if you can pm me in details, anyway, nice work =3

  • I loved this anime. I just do, I kind of got a little bored at the beginning but the show drew me back in. XD It's a good anime even though it had only 12 episodes.

  • Holy crap...This arrange is amazing!!!! This music remind me Sayaka's weakness of mind... I'm about to cry...(T_T)

  • The picture is just, beautiful...

  • @AkarasuYa OH MY MADOKA Fixed.

  • @AkarasuYa OH MY MADOKA THE PICTURE Fixed...

  • wow awesome art where did u get this from?

  • T_T

  • Tragic. Epic.

  • Where can I get the image in the video I tottally love it!! The music is amazing too!!

  • @Ichigofan19 infobox yo.

  • Love this song.

  • awsome . . .

  • It would have been hilariously ironic if this had been played at her funeral.

  • awesome song... and i really love the pic too O.o incredibly awesome

  • @TheNordmik ah and if all the show had the image's style i bet it would have rocked a lot more (even though i loved it anyway)O.o

  • 表情很傳神阿....

  • I love this song, it is almost mockingly telling you through its sounds "This is a tragedy and its never going to leave"

  • Oh violin, Y U SO GOOD AT MAKING HORROR MUSIC.

  • Comment removed

  • @WindOwl I don´t know why your comment got removed, but anyway I put the source into the description.

  • wow, thanks for the upload! can't wait till the ost release in may 25.

  • I personally was just glad to find a series with plot that wasn't full of fanservice. Of course, I'm like that.

And the change wasn't too drastic for me. Though, I've watched Narutaru and Bokurano, so...

  • @MarlyFlowerXI From the beginning Puella Magi was going to be a dark anime, which is to be expected when you have the same writer as Saya no Uta's. Beside it's a welcome change of pace from the moe moe anime we've had for some time.

  • @Hyperdreamvirus I was aware of Madoka Magica not being a lighthearted anime. But seemingly I cut it out of my mind. It´s not that I think the story should have been written differently, since predictable animes are boring and tiring. I was just surprised by the sudden change from a heartwarming scene to a decapitation shortly after.

  • @MarlyFlowerXI Yeah, that Wham Episode through everyone for a loop I think.

  • @MarlyFlowerXI I think thats what makes the anime awesome. All is not what it seems, and episode 3 is an reminder that this is a deconstruction. Not a straight up magical girl show. And I'm loving it. :)

  • @MarlyFlowerXI Clearly someone needs to be more familiar with mr Urobuchi's past work. :]

Even then I had a pretty huge "Wait, what?" moment when on episode 3.

  • @puretay

    R.I.P. mami

    you died to early

    ep1-ep3

  • @puretay Who? :3a

  • @MarlyFlowerXI

lol. Gen Urobochi apologized to the viewers already in a magazine for the misleading start.

  • @Futarimataaerunara

I wonder how many offed themselves after episode 3.

  • @iamhungey12345

    Who knows...

  • @MarlyFlowerXI Clearly you missed the point of the anime if you are saying this. That was the point, the heartwarming part is what MADE her death so much more horrible...and at the same time meaningful. It sets the tone, the pace, and lets you know that this isn't a simple show, but a group of girls set off to fight Eldridge horrors.

  • @Hyperdreamvirus It's still a very lighthearted and not-as-disturbing story comparing to all the other works that Urobuchi had done in the past.

  • @TheHatsuneLOVER That was the entire point. It was never meant to be a normal mahou shoujo anime. The writer was leaked before the anime aired and he's written some pretty gruesome stuff so if you didn't see this coming then you've had your head in the sand this entire time.

  • @TheHatsuneLOVER But that was SHAFT's point. The entire series is a subversion of the typical 'magical girl' plot- your powers are not for free, you are not all-powerful, and you shouldn't trust talking stuffed animals.

While imho Sayaka's story was a bit of a stretch toward the end, overall Madoka is a very good show with an excellent plot, definitely the best of the season.
