Yeah. You should hook up like a really big battery. Just in case the power goes out, u will have a battery back up for the Alarm, and for the garage door .

You could also use it with a security system I had an idea of that. You could wire it to a security alarm control panel and program the alarm to respond to the pull station and also program the system to allow you to operate the garage from the keypad, also you could try to get the technology that would make it possible to remotely operate the door from your cell phone and computer.
