Yardbirds "Shape of Things" is a totally different song, but this is a pre-punk rock anthem for punk rock. This version was covered by Paul Revere & The Raiders on their "Indian Reservation" album under the title "(Nothing Can Change) The Shape of Things To Come." It also was covered by Toxic Reasons in the early 1980s. And the Ramones played (Nothing Can Change) The Shape Of Things To Come" in 1994 at a memorial concert for F-1 race driver Ayrton Senna (R.I.P.) Great, great, great riff!!!!
Don't get me wrong, I really like this tune a lot and I still listen to it, but it is definitely dated and the premis of the movie was really not people friendly. It pits the young against the ones over 30. At the end of the movie, one of the children said something to the effect that anyone over 13 was history, I think it was, and please correct my statement, because I haven't seen that movie since 1973. The point is that the movie portrayed young people in a very unfavorable light.
I saw this at the Ohio Theater, Lorain, Ohio, 1968; I was twelve. It seemed like the whole country was up for grabs, and that perhaps the film most evocative of the time was "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD".

A b movie at best, the heme of the movie was stupid at the end little kids were shown saying We're going to get rid of everyone over 12 It made some points but most was stupid. When age 15 it eemed exciting but the reason Chris Jones didn t make it despite he was a Dean Jones lookalike is the fac he was a B ator at best. What happened? I read somewhere he retired acting & became a successful artist/ for him that was best! Chubasco also sucked!
Saw "Wild in the Streets" at the drive in during the summer of 1968. This was the main song from it. Received lots of airplay in Lansing, MI. and went to number 1 at one of the stations. As much as I liked growing up in the 60's, alot of strange things happened.
Amazing movie from AIP, the people who brought you the Frankie and Annette Beach movies and later the Pebbles series of Garage Rock compilations!
1968 was a hell of a year. They really were worried about complete anarchy. I've heard the FBI took the possibility of LSD in the water supply seriously and also beefed up security at the political conventions which led to riots. See: "1968 Democratic National Convention protest activity" on wikipedia for an overview.
One small problem with the movie. The people protrayed were fighting the establishment. Now they are the establishment and are destroying the very fabric of the country. It has come full circle. No one is fighting the establishment.
@covarrubiasdx pero creo que es la rola de todos los finales de los sketches del programa, no solo de vulgarcito... ahora gracias a clasico tv podemos ver este programa otra vez, saludos!
Awesome! What a time that was! I grew up in socal in the sixties and hokey as the premise might seem today, it wasn't so farfetched at the time. Us kids really were taking over! It all went to hell after altamont and the manson murders. We moved from the valley and nothing was ever the same for me or the country again. If I could go back to any time in my life, that would be it! BTW my older brother knew Jim Morrison and dated Cher's sister...how's that? Epic times, for sure! Thanks!!!!!

Funny presentation ,but as a result, it lacks somewhat in the audio stakes.
Not bad,but something got lost here.
I'd rather hear The Yardbirds doing their 'Shapes' routine though.
