She's probably going to win this thing. If she does, it will prove that this competition isn't about talent. It's about marketability. Jacob Lusk is clearly the best vocalist in the competition. It's not even close. But this isn't about that. Who cares if you can sing if you don't look hot doing it? Lauren is hot, young and blonde...and she's a southern girl. Once you're in the top 24, your voice is good enough. What you're looking for is someone with marketability. She has it.
I respectfully disagree, I can't stand Jabob Lusk's voice. He may be the most skilled singer, but he is not the most pleasing to listen to for most people.
I think you'd concur that Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks, Jordan Sparks, etc. weren't the hottest contestants. They were, however, the people who possessed the most appealing voice to the masses.
Stage presence, personality, and looks all have their place, but they are trivial compared to how captivating a singer's voice is.

Sexing her up appeals to guys and emphasizing her southern roots appeals to girls and parents. She'll win this competition, but it won't be because she's a good singer.

Lauren is solid, but I don't see how anybody can listen to her and think she is as good or better than Pia or Thia. Those two are in a class of there own.

She's probably going to win this thing. If she does, it will prove that this competition isn't about talent. It's about marketability. Jacob Lusk is clearly the best vocalist in the competition. It's not even close. But this isn't about that. Who cares if you can sing if you don't look hot doing it? Lauren is hot, young and blonde...and she's a southern girl. Once you're in the top 24, your voice is good enough. What you're looking for is someone with marketability. She has it.

I respectfully disagree, I can't stand Jabob Lusk's voice. He may be the most skilled singer, but he is not the most pleasing to listen to for most people.
I think you'd concur that Ruben Studdard, Taylor Hicks, Jordan Sparks, etc. weren't the hottest contestants. They were, however, the people who possessed the most appealing voice to the masses.
Stage presence, personality, and looks all have their place, but they are trivial compared to how captivating a singer's voice is.

@huz3244055 I dunno...I think a lot of guys like me will find that very sexy. And let's face it, this isn't REALLY a singing a competition. There are so many more important things. Sexing her up appeals to guys and emphasizing her southern roots appeals to girls and parents. She'll win this competition, but it won't be because she's a good singer.
