Gruberova was, is and always shall be the Konig des Belcanto. Even now she shows what we remember of her from the very best moment of her carreer. I agree with you, brava....bravissima, she has the technical approah of Sutherlando plus her charm. Nobody like her Lucia, Lucrecia, Donna Anna, Bolena, Elizabetha.....Gosh...I can only see this roles in her voice.....God bless her and her voice.. Thank u Coloraturafan.

Gruberova has definitively accomplish all hopes we had on her ! Her Devereux final scene is a real legend, nobody has been able to reach her technical and emotional level ! Gruberova is Unic ! Now with Lucrezia is a dream ... Gruberova, she's really the best, the Prima Donna Assoluta of our time.

I first heard Ms. Gruberova on an album from the 70s. Her Lakme was amazing - the opening cadenza ended with a high E attacked piano, crescedoing to forte, and followed by a perfect descending chromatic scale. I must say, however, that I do not like her in the blond wig (Lucia). It does not flatter her, and she looks a little like Bette Davis in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.
