That's why you see the videos of the girls loosing control when they fire because they're afraid of it and hold it all wimpy-dimpty (stupid term but you get the idea, keep control of the gun and it's fine.)

Though I do think a boy that small should be using a 12 gauge, a 20 gauge could be better if he wants to target shoot for fun.
