well from what i can see when you pull/strum the string, it pulls on that ........thingy on the end and it presses a button. he does it 3 times at 0:15 , i can see its pressing a button, but how does the guitar controller pic of the guitar?

Forget lessons, get a 100 dollar guitar, and learn it through online video. That's what I did, I'm no way the greatest guitarist ever mind you, but now I have a close to 1000 dollar guitar and I've got a few gigs lined up. The point is, you can guide yourself, it's just a lot better to take lessons. But if you're willing to take the shortcut, go for it. You can always backtrack and take lessons later on.

I actually do that...it doesn't matter which handedness you use as long as you teach yourself (or are taught) to that handedness. And maybe some people do need lessons even in the beginning. I'm not sure, I just know that I got it to a decent degree without lessons, though I constantly wish I was better, and Marty Friedman is basically a God who didn't take lessons. Especially early on, the precision usually relies on your left hand for a right handed guitar, kind of ironic, haha.

This actually looks like a good idea, but how sensitive is it? Trembolo is an evil and somewhat unfair feature in Rock Band and Guitar Hero and complicates simple songs (Misirlou, Knights Of Cydonia, etc...) so using a string instead of a plastic strumbar can help you overcome this disadvantage, but it looks like you have to push it down as much as the strum bar and would probably feel wierd pulling a string up and down to play a fast passage.

(Seriously, those songs are novice-leveled at best.)
