  • Can't hear what he's saying for the terrible music.. But the point is still pretty clear. That is bogus. Hey the community could start cutting them up in the night and selling the scrap. If everyone got in on it, who would know? lol

  • yellow cars are just part of life in new castle...ppl should be trying to get these abandon houses demo'd a lot more dangerous..rapes..murders..fires..

  • the fact remains that no one but the railroad itself really has any bearing on what happens. Given a good alternative, they would probably remove them, but that remains unlikely that someone will fork over the money. Another thinkg to consider is that the C&NC is a small business, people who are usually respected and appreciated, the notion that they are a giant corporation is simply laughable.

  • There really is no where for the C&NC to store these cars, given the fact that their mainline to connersville needs to remain open in case traffic shows up, at that point the C&NC would be trapped as there is no way for them to get around. While i do agree that they are not the nicest looking things, technically no one should ever use the right of way since that is considered trespassing, thats what the grade crossings are for...

  • The sad truth is that the section of railroad you are assuming has no rights to utilize it's property has been in place for over 150 years. It's the former Rushville branch of the Lake Erie and Western, later Nickel Plate, then Norfolk and Western, then Norfolk Southern. The downturn of traffic for the auto industry caused those cars to go into storage and the remains of the Rushville branch is storage. It's a shame that the people of New Castle didn't appreciate Chrysler or the railroads.

  • @bcv1954 Yes, thank you, I know the history of this railroad line. No one ever said they didn't have a right to use these tracks. The point is they could use tracks they have that are out in the country and in more commercial/industrial areas. New Castle and Henry County always appreciated Chrysler and what that company did for this community. Just because you know the history of this rail line doesn't mean you know what the people think. Why don't you move in next to one.

  • As I mentioned in my other reply, I no longer choose to live in New Castle. I struggled to make a living there for over 20 years. I did, in fact, grow up in that neighborhood. I know the area well. One more note: when I worked for the C&NC RR, I personally placed 90ft box cars on that track, which sat there for over a year. No one complained then. Same situation, just these days it seems some people want to complain. Call Pete Bell!

  • @bcv1954 Then you have told me all I need to know about you. You worked for them, so that is your agenda. You may have moved rail cars on that track in the past but not as many as there are there now. That is the issue, not that there are cars there, but the number of cars there. Come back to New Castle and take a look for yourself or shut up. You don't know anything about me or why I made these videos. I am not anti railroad or anti business. An its you who don't know the whole story.

  • I know exactly how many cars fit there, they are the exact same length as the cars my crew placed there in 2003. Others have pointed out that if you were not complaining about this subject you would be complaining about another. I simply gave you another perspective on why they are there. Clearly you are not willing to hear that.

  • @bcv1954 Last time I checked I was a free man and tax payer so I can complain about anything in my community I want. The difference is, the people who said that are not from here. If it was in their back yard they would be screaming to high heaven. Did you have this many cars on the tracks for 2 years in 2003? Nope I didn't think so. You came to my channel to complain about my videos is how I see it. If you don't like my reply move on. I don't expect anyone to agree with me. I don't care.

  • Yes, I did have that many cars placed on that track for 2 years. Where were you then? You own a "channel"? Wow! I can understand your frustration with the situation, but for someone who doesn't care about whether someone agrees, you sure seem upset. See, I knew you would you would have to get the last word in. It's been mildly entertaining, but I won't be replying or commenting again.

  • @bcv1954 You may have had a number of cars on the tracks then but not to this extent. I never said I own a channel, it's just my place on You Tube. I'm not upset, you are just one in a number of people who have given me a hard time. Still, the number is much fewer than the people who have supported me. Glad I could be of mild entertainment for you. Maybe next time you could come to New Castle and see them yourself. Then you might have a different perspective. They will be gone soon anyway.

  • I saw alot of this coming when I worked for C&NC RR. The Visteon Plant shutting down was the final straw. It may surprise you to know that I don't agree with what they have chosen to do in this case, I was merely pointing out that they have every right to do it. Keep in mind that by posting on YouTube, you will get comments. Not all will be designed to coddle you while you whine. At this point, I will allow you the last word without reply. I know that is important to you.

  • @bcv1954 I never said in any of the videos or the interviews I did in the Wall Street journal, CNN, several radio stations and newspapers that they didn't have a right to use the tracks as they see fit. I did however say that just because you have a right to does not make it right. You as a former employee of the C & NC that they have tracks they could have put these cars on. That is what is at issue. They are not being a good neighbor to the city. You can have the last word, not important to me

  • You think with the "Cash For Clunkers" they'ed have a use for them to hall the "Cash For Clunkers" to the scrap yards. Just an idea, LOL.

  • That's really a pretty good idea. I wonder if the railroads have tried that yet?

  • Where do I rent one?

  • Wow. You could not use this train as a border between Mexico and the US. They could just hop right over the couplers. Just get over it and move on. rabbi7007 is right. The railroad is complying with the rules. you could try to make the scrap metal but then the railroad will demand money and in this economy i dont think ppL could afford it.

  • As a laid off conductor for the Union Pacific, nothing hurts more than to see rail cars sit but the fact of the matter is they own the tracks and 3 feet off each side so they can place there cars anywhere they need. so long as they do not block a main intersection for longer than 10 minutes. You guys sit back and just see a nuisance, i see my familys quality of life crumbling, so lets all just grin and bare it. Hopefully this will be over soon.

  • I'm really sorry to hear that you have been laid off. But this railroad is nothing like Union Pacific. You guys are a real railroad. This is only a railroad in name only. They don't even own the tracks or the cars. They are middlemen, and parasites on the real railroads that are being hurt by the bad economy. As far as us grining and bearing it, not gonna happen. Again, sorry that you are laid off. Good luck, hope it ends soon.

  • I see tons of scrap metal ready for the taking.. Start dismantling them, they'll move..lol

  • Yeah, we've thought of that. Kind of hard to hide the parts though. There is a big scrap yard in our town though, maybe he'll take care of them for us.

  • I just watched something on this on "News To Me" and yah that is bullshit cuz If your so used to one sight and something like this happens you just can't stand it and trust me I know from change in my city

  • It really is a bunch of BS isn't it? Glad you saw the program. The guys at News to Me were really great to work with. I appreciate them doing the story.

  • yah I am too cuz it is a load of crap. It is like the whole city has been quorintiened by the Gov. I feel realy bad for you guys up there. And tell the most people up there that at least I care about this BS.

  • seen it on news so thought i wold check it out

  • Thanks for stopping by ! Come back and see me sometime.

  • i just saw this video on the news....dont see the big deal

  • Then you are welcome to move here and live in the shadow of one of these cars !

  • That is a great idea ! The ones here would be really tough to get over or around or through. They are HUGE ! I'll pass along your idea if I get a chance.

  • Those trains will not be there not much longer. Fema will be using them. Google Fema Trains

  • Yeah, I've heard that. Check out ATS Forum. I really don't buy into that. I guess it's possible but I think they really are here because of the economy or because they want to scrap them. But who knows? If they are FEMA train cars and they are going to be used to transport people, you better believe I'll get it on video and post it here before they drag me off too.

  • why don't they split them up in different parts instead of saying

    "F you New Castle"

  • That really is the question isn't it? If they put just a few here it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but this line of train cars goes on for 1.74 miles, right through the heart of our town. This isn't a train issue, this is a greed issue. We like to see trains go through our town because that means the economy is good. We don't like to see them just setting here for over a year.

  • hehehe!

i see a gold brick and its only realer to have those cow holders be melted and sent to a factory aking inventions and shyt.........dang but this is true tho to have those in the way of life and when any policy company have a detailed description of what they.........aaaww shucks....we are starting to build up trailers there ......but hey....u got power!

    hehehehehe!

  • What kind of trailers? Are they train cars or are they truck trailers? I've heard that some communities are having the same problem but with semi trailers instead of train cars.

  • hey that alex roth is hot and sexy. where do I find him? I want some of that tight ass jersey boy doin reports in the south. yummy.

  • They some times do this in coal country with coal trains until they are loaded, but they maybe sit for 2 days at most not for a year. The G&W proabaly has no clue about this.

  • More info.

Genesee and Wyoming Inc is the true owner of the Cars. ATW / Atlantic and Western is the holding company with title to them. They are the ones paying to store them. I suspect that soon enough they will move them to a better spot when older cars are scrapped until things pick up. The railroads first choice is not to store them in places like this, there literally is only so much track available to store cars.

  • Thanks for the info, I'll pass it along.

  • That would be a good place to try. G&W may or may not be sympathetic. They probably don't even know that C&NC is storing them like this. If G&W does pull their cars out they may only be replaced with other cars from another company that may look even worse, Nothing is worse then a string of 40 year old coal hoppers.

I am a railfan and must agree that the CN&C should not be storing cars in town like this so close to crossings. It's one thing to store them out in the country on a little used line

  • I was about to bring up the same thing. Norfolk Southern has a siding in my city that is uses for storage, but it's out next to our newer movie theater, and actually part of the older mainline. If the railroad who's storing these could find somewhere outside the city to store them, it'd work better for both sides, wouldn't it?

  • That has been my point all along. This company owns tracks out in the country where it won't bother anyone. They lease these tracks to store someone Else's train cars. Nothing more that an middle man and a greedy one at that.

  • These cars will not be there forever. These cars are fairly new and will be some of the first recalled into active service when things pick up again. Even still, older cars in storage may get scrapped and these moved out of town to more out of the way storage spots.

  • Yes, some of these are newer cars. There were some older ones here but they were moved and even more came.
