I really liked it. The only Zelda game without Zelda actually in it. No annoying Goddesses and myths about how the world formed. No Ganondorf. No Triforce. Yet it stands as the epitome of what a Zelda game should be like.
NO Legend of Zelda will EVER top this one, no matter what! I'd love it if they remade this for 3ds, but I want it on Wii U but that's gonna take longer to do =(

Majoras mask it's funny but i have more memory of this Zelda game then anything else and i consider myself the king of zelda games since i beat both when i was like 7 and understood the story perfectly i even had to beat it for my bro that scaredy cat but what impacted me the most in this game was the fact that you turned peoples sorrows into masks which you then take upon yourself which i felt alot when i got the zora mask poor mikau :( his heaven was a place where he could play with his band.
I always got surprised on how many people were afraid of the moon, I always found it silly. The mask, though, it still haunts me. Not afraid to say, I have actually grown to have a "phobia" of this game; I don't wanna finish it. Ever. I'm okay with just watching it. But when I first let the moon crash, I could not play that game ever again.
Yet, I'm so adicted to it. It's a spectacular game. I love it and always will, even if it haunts me in my dreams.

Thumbs this up if you want a Majora's Mask remake too. Majora's Mask is also one of the best games of all time. It's an unbelievably good sequel that does Ocarina of Time a great deal of justice. when i was little i played this game because i saved my quarters and it came with MM and the first time i played it i was like WHY DO I ONLY HAVE 5 MINS AND THEN I DIE???? and the happy mask salesman freaked me out the most i thought he would stab me in the back when i was sleeping and say YOU DONT HAVE MY MASK?? And i would go to the telescope place and look at the skrewed up moon and then i would dance ith the scarecrow so when i was little i was like wtf is the point of the game?????????
I remember that when I was little, I would be so scared from this video that when the intro came on, I would turn around, close my eyes, and cover my ears because I was so afraid. I can watch it now, but i still have that nostalgic fear inside. This is my favorite game of all time, and I really (really) hope that they make a remake for the 3DS. I would save up $1,000 just to have that.

This is my favourite Zelda game because of it's dark theme. It was so amazing and at the time of it's release, it was just so dramatic for a Zelda game. Nothing was ever like it. I don't really want them to remake it because I want to see this game like I remembered it rather than an altered Link...

one time i was at my weed dealers house and buying some fine quality kush i saw his 15 year old son playing this game not on a computer but the actual n64 itself-right then and there i knew this game was the best one ever made, and like everyone else says this game holds so much power in our memories-i was born in '92 so i played this when i was about 8....now ill be 19 in july and i can still say any game made does not equal up to this

This is my opinion but I think it's a darker game cuz link doesnt have the master sword. For me the master sword is a symbol of light, along with the triforce. The triforce is also a symbol of light, without the triforce light cannot shine. The other demension (Termina) has nothing to do with the triforce or master sword, therefore creating the darker story/game.

and when the game starts y see a pink-purple sillohuet of the mask and the name zelda, yesterday i reached the part in wich you have to follow some pipes, i read a guide and it says that you have to follow the red one... but in the game i just see gray pipes..i think its a plugin error.. or somethin :l pls help,thx anyway
Favorite 64 game, better than the original 64 Zelda, I like the game play and how more in depth it is, but it's just longer I guess, The original and this one is the same, just a bit different. It's hard to match these two up since their both so unique from eachother and other 64 games.
The mask salesman in the intro's laugh always creeped me out. And to this day I get goosebumps when the skull kids music comes on. This was the best game made after Links Awakening imo
I remember seeing this cutscene lol. I was so warmed up, seeing people work around the village until the music changed and the skull kid was staring at the moon, i was like *shit!*
It also gave it a serious element of "Oh fucking shit". In Ocarina Ganon's ruling the world, but there's no real consequences for you. Take your time, chill out, slaughter those dungeons in your own time, Ganon's just gonna chill and play the pipe organ.

if thats the real reason you never finished it, because of some bizarre inner dialogue from the game creators' voices in your head i feel sorry for you. Twilight Princess was awesome...Wait. Did you play it on Wii? cos the Wii version was inferior to the Gamecube version.
I still don't quite understand why nintendo thought it would be a good idea to flip the map for the wii. The map in the gamecube version follows the same north south east west template to Ocarina, and even Wind Waker.
thats nothing to do with what i said. I was saying that the only difference was flipping the map. None of the textures were changed, none of the models. it was just flipped so east is west and vice versa.
I know this is an old post, but it's because Link needed to be right handed in the Wii version, seeing as how you're supposed to be swinging the sword yourself and all.
@Aska49 Yeah I agree, I didn't care for Twilight Princess at all. I beat it, but I won't play it again. I just started this game though, only just got my ocarina back, but it seems like it will be a challenging yet fun game.
@Aska49 Eh, Twilight Princess was dark in its own right. It was an excellent game (though the ending battle sucked), and had its moments... but when compared to Majora's Mask, it's like comparing the world's best high school football team to the world's best professional football team. The subtlety and mounting danger that was portrayed in MM was on a level that TP just hadn't even seen yet.
@Aska49 Majoras mask was way darker then TP. You are stuck in a 3 day cycle waiting for the apocalypse to happen over and over until you can either fix it, or give up and die. TP was a sad attempt at doing a zelda game realistically. It had good moments,but the whole thing never came together.
@Aska49 That's a terrible opinion. Wind Waker was a great, very artistic interpretation of LoZ, and was a great game overall. Twilight Princess was also an amazing game, with a similar captivating feel as Majora's Mask, but with some distinct differences. I think you should re-evaluate what makes an LoZ game good.
Now, Skyward Sword, that looks like it just plain sucks ass.

hi there, i need someones help :s
2 days ago i tryed to play this game on pj 64
and when the game starts y see a pink-purple sillohuet of the mask and the name zelda, yesterday i reached the part in wich you have to follow some pipes, i read a guide and it says that you have to follow the red one... but in the game i just see gray pipes..i think its a plugin error.. or somethin :l pls help,thx anyway

@miguelcob something worse happens when you try to play it on a sixtyforce emulator there is not video at all only audio O_o

Yeah same! Even though I can't beat Gekko in the Great Bay Temple, it's still very challenging, and that's what I like in a game :D!

Favorite 64 game, better than the original 64 Zelda, I like the game play and how more in depth it is, but it's just longer I guess, The original and this one is the same, just a bit different. It's hard to match these two up since their both so unique from eachother and other 64 games.

The mask salesman in the intro's laugh always creeped me out. And to this day I get goosebumps when the skull kids music comes on. This was the best game made after Links Awakening imo

I remember seeing this cutscene lol. I was so warmed up, seeing people work around the village until the music changed and the skull kid was staring at the moon, i was like *shit!*

Just the clock counting down on the screen and always being able to look up and see the giant moon making its decent made this game so dark

It also gave it a serious element of "Oh fucking shit". In Ocarina Ganon's ruling the world, but there's no real consequences for you. Take your time, chill out, slaughter those dungeons in your own time, Ganon's just gonna chill and play the pipe organ.

the difference between majoras mask and other zelda games iis that majoras mask has a darker feel to it.
not as dark as twighlight princess but dark for its time

I didn't find Twilight Princess to be dark at all, moreso just "HURF DURF LOOK WE'RE MATURE FORGIVE US FOR WIND WAKER NOW?"

if thats the real reason you never finished it, because of some bizarre inner dialogue from the game creators' voices in your head i feel sorry for you. Twilight Princess was awesome...Wait. Did you play it on Wii? cos the Wii version was inferior to the Gamecube version.

I still don't quite understand why nintendo thought it would be a good idea to flip the map for the wii. The map in the gamecube version follows the same north south east west template to Ocarina, and even Wind Waker.

thats nothing to do with what i said. I was saying that the only difference was flipping the map. None of the textures were changed, none of the models. it was just flipped so east is west and vice versa.

I know this is an old post, but it's because Link needed to be right handed in the Wii version, seeing as how you're supposed to be swinging the sword yourself and all.

@Aska49 Yeah I agree, I didn't care for Twilight Princess at all. I beat it, but I won't play it again. I just started this game though, only just got my ocarina back, but it seems like it will be a challenging yet fun game.

@Aska49 Eh, Twilight Princess was dark in its own right. It was an excellent game (though the ending battle sucked), and had its moments... but when compared to Majora's Mask, it's like comparing the world's best high school football team to the world's best professional football team. The subtlety and mounting danger that was portrayed in MM was on a level that TP just hadn't even seen yet.

@Aska49 Majoras mask was way darker then TP. You are stuck in a 3 day cycle waiting for the apocalypse to happen over and over until you can either fix it, or give up and die. TP was a sad attempt at doing a zelda game realistically. It had good moments,but the whole thing never came together.

@Aska49 That's a terrible opinion. Wind Waker was a great, very artistic interpretation of LoZ, and was a great game overall. Twilight Princess was also an amazing game, with a similar captivating feel as Majora's Mask, but with some distinct differences. I think you should re-evaluate what makes an LoZ game good.
Now, Skyward Sword, that looks like it just plain sucks ass.

I guess I saw it like the end of the game. Like Game Over, you lost.
The game was also more complex than OoT (which can be positive or negative), but still it was cool.

I'm not saying your wrong. And I did like Twilight Princess. But I prefer Majoras Mask because its so much darker. Cmon, Twilight Princess= Ok, ok, the world of Hyrule has been turned into a dark wasteland and stuff. @leavetome actually it has to do in another way, but not directly, if the moon crashes everything goes to shit, not just Termina, so Hyrule, Labrynna, Holodrum and all the other countries will go bye bye, but that's my point of view
