  • Good vid! That cc loves great

  • Matt's an asshole.

  • when Germans started developing a cars, America didn't exist.

  • ese carro deberian vernderlo solo a gente de 1.55 como yo!

  • Cars looks awesome, friend of mine has one in black with a 2.0 TFSI and DSG. It's a really good car. Btw. please don't think that this guy is really a german ^^. He's def. a Brit or American who can speak a "bit" german ;). Greetings from germany ;).

  • haha, strange that the german "press" doesnt speak english... almost everyone can speak english here... especially press.. seems like fake press, or maybe a tourist... ;]

  • throw the key away

  • oh my god... he's speaking german.

    wtf

are you showing how retarted and dumb you can be:; can't here it anymore

  • hahaha I used to live in germany so I really understand his point of view

  • LMAO at 3:26- 3:41 i know how it is it can be very annoying and hectic with people who could hardly understand english.

  • I LOVE BOSTON...N HARVARD YARD

  • This car is available with a manual transmission (I know, I bought a CC with a 6 speed) so your review is at best incomplete, at worst, just plain lazy...

  • you missed the point, he said you can only get the 6 cyl with an auto. you can get the 4 cyls with a manual.

  • The cousin definitely NOT comes from Germany...

  • hot look looking car.

  • it always seems like volkswagen neglects it's american buyers. first, they discontinue the phaeton here. then, they don't bring over the scirocco? and now, they don't give us the same engine choices in the cc as the europeans get? that is just not fair, especially because despite the recession, we still have the strongest economy in the world, and we'd be happy to buy their products.

  • sorry i meant transmission choices.

  • american and european markets vary a huge amount, not to mention the pheaton didnt sell worth a shit in america and with everyone bitching about gas tell me why we would opt for anything larger than 3.6litres. oh and in a recession would you release a brand new car like the scirocco onto the market in a totally opposite country?

  • dude if you think that americans are cost conscious about fuel, i guess you know absolutely nothing about europe, where it is over $10 per gallon in some parts. and yes, i would release the scirocco in the US because i know that people here are clamoring for one, obviously volkswagen doesn't realize it.

and i'm also pissed off about the build quality at the mexican plant, and that volkswagen has done nothing to fix it.

  • if your talking about te passat cc have no good build quility its make in germany and there is no usless plastics in it all leather and aluminum or wood trim but i can see where your going with the trasmission choices if i as you id special order one from europe you can do that i have freands in canada that do that and the scirocco you might be aboul to do that to i dont no but im on your side about the scirocco thing not being in american/canada

  • the passat, jetta, toaureg, and golf are made in mexico for the american markets and the beetle is made in brazil. these are third world countries with underpaid workers, obviously the build quality isn't going to be as good as the ones made in germany.

  • the the passat cc is made in germany but thoughs cars i wouldnt buy ever because the passat cc is better looking and i love the interior so much i would trade in my

m5 if my dad would let me if u want to no why i would ask

  • you are totally wrong. Only Jetta and Beetle are made in Mexico, Touareg and passat are made in Europe, Golf V in Brasil, and Golf VI in germany.

  • great, but everything else was true

  • I feel like they took a Passat and rolled it off a cliff and then smoothed it out a bit. What is the point of having both of those cars offered at the same time? I dont feel like it will last very long with the big sales slump

  • They are selling the last Passats....you wont see both on sale for long

  • i have heard that they are going to stop importing both of the cars and build a factory here in the us and we are going to get a new mid size sedan

  • yup...just talked to a salesmen about that, he also said the CC is doing pretty good

  • hahahahah great video realy funny and the car is nice but the typ is nat a german

  • well, this german is a fake-speaks with english acc

  • good vid man

  • Vw looks nice, remove all the chrome and its better.

  • i think the chrome makes it look better. it makes it stand out more than some plain plastic looking car

  • thats funny,.... thats what makes it look more plastic like.

  • cant say i agree with that...maybe if they used less chrome it would look nice

  • thats not a real german though, his accent is way off... ^^ good idea though :P

  • the whole story line with the German was bad. Stick to a more professional approach Matt.

  • seems like a decent car its even got room for a creepy "german"

  • my 1983 Pontiac Trans Am gets 25 MPG and its a 305ci V8

  • welcome to Boston dude did anyone cut you off or did the cops harass for having new york plates

  • Congrats Matt, I liked it!

  • my Oldsmobile gets better gas mileage than that

  • NEVERMIND.... its just a rerun from last week. aarrhh...

  • Fick dich! lolol

  • WTF? i thought G419 was supposed to be on Tues. & Thurs....

  • matt your fucking cool, but thats just tom.

  • that's the joke....

  • It seems like Garage419 is always anti-German......

i mean is that just me........?

What ever, ill just whach top Gear from now on if 419 is just gunna be fail.

Because atleast top gear is funny when they dis on Germans............ instead of just being biast disclaiming german cars.

  • Well....Top Gear is always anti-American...soooooo

  • If you have ever watched an episode all the way through, we loved the Porsche with PDK, we loved the 91 GT3, Cayman GTR, Cayenne GTS, and Audi Q7 TDI. We loved the Mercedes Benz GL320 Bluetec as well. Come to think of it, this is the first German car we didn't give rave reviews to. So what's the problem?

  • That you felt the need to to pick one German car and give it bad review, otherwise poeple might accuse you of being biased towards them.

I've driven a standart Passat with this engine, and although it's not as quiet as Lexus, it's not the noisiest at all and probably on of the most flexible in its category.

2.0 TFSI 200k engine is simply not powerful enough to run all 4 wheels but it can achieve good gas mileage which is why it only comes with fwd.

  • The Audi A4 comes with the 2.0TFSI Engine and Quattro. So why isn't it powerful enough to run all 4 wheels?

  • is that thing heavier then and A4? maybe thats why or they just wanted to make a really expensive flagship one with AWD

  • 2.0 TFSI 280k and DSG could come later.

  • Hmmm, didn't know about that. Then it's stupid concern's restrictions.

Still, I think 210 bhp is not enough for quattro.

  • come on, they even do 100bhp cars with quattro and they work all fine... you are too spoilerd by 3.6+ litre engines :)

  • VW group has a big mish mash with awd system's names. That much power is good for 4motion, which isn't permanent 4wd, the rear wheels are controlled by a clutch, but some Audis have "quattro" which is actually called quattro but it's still only 4motion.

  • cool! that is really a great looking vdub

  • haha thats hilarious XD

the next time 1 of my buddies pisses me off or annoys me while im driving im just gonna stuff em in the trunk lol XD

btw, that CC really is a good looking car! 5*!

  • If it weren't for the bit about the German this would have been a great episode. I appreciate the need to change formatting, car guys talking about cars can get a bit old. The German bit was just annoying.

  • thank you matt for saying what I've been saying about the CC since I first saw when hit showroom floors. I think it looks very sexy for a vdub. I agree with you about the limited drivetrain options, but I think volkswagen wanted to keep the price of the CC low to compete in the camry/accord market. Unfortunetly this meant they couldn't offer manual transmission on the VR6 or all-wheel drive on the 2.0T without moving the car into the 3 series or C class price range.

  • I recently looked at the CC and I will assure you that he could have fit at least four more Germans in that trunk. OR, you could go with four large sized Italian men. Your pick, you know, for business.

  • you shouldteste the GTI model

  • nice report, but u should have atleast tried to get someone that actually speaks german if you're going to make fun of germans. saying things like bier(thats the german spelling), schnitzel and "was ist los mit dir?" (whats wrong with you) don't make a german :P

  • A great, good looking car..mainly because my own car is a VW Passat 1.9TDI :o) Thanks Matt!

  • I love that you put him in the trunk but I am not sure that the CC is that great of a car for someone who wants to drive there car and not have the car drive them. Also I don't think that is CC looks that much different than the current Civics on the market. I love you a lot Matt but really is the CC that different than other cars on the market?

  • When you see what the other sedans are in the CC's price range, yes. It looks significantly better than an Accord, Camry, Malibu, or even the A4 or 3 series, in my opinion. As far as how it drives, I'd call it "fine." and that's really it. In person it looks nothing like a Civic.

  • Seen one in Severna Park MD a couple days ago, Looks ok, not as stunning as described in the video. Also, the front looks too distressed - it's trying too hard.

  • "that church is kind of ballin" lol

  • the best churches always are...

  • fake, that guy isn't german. but funny anyway ;)

  • Great episode Matt. The car is truly stunning in person. With this and the new Scirocco, VW is going to be turning some heads and selling some cars. But as typical, VAG does not offer the best drivetrain combinations in the US at least initially. Same with the A3. This car with the 2.0T, 4Motion and stick or DSG would be sweet.

Clam chowder? Yes Boston has the best. It is white. Manhattan clam chowder is red and sucks.

  • you know what i dont like about the cc? you cant get xenons unless you pay 40k for the top level v6. you cant get 4motion with the turbo. it doesn't look insanely good - just good. for a little bit more money you can get an a4 which is much better looking imo.

  • Someone's been researching top gear I see. I love the format, you guys should do more car review/scenario type things.

  • creepy german... hahaha

  • One of the best Garage 419 episodes that I have seen. Keep up the good work.

  • Production is getting so much better now, I am really enjoying the show now. I think you should have a weekly car review like this! Now you guys need to find a way to get the Volkswagen BlueSport Concept for a test drive! That car I can see finally being a true competition for the Mazda Miata but, in Diesel!

  • We are doing shows like this one more often. We have 2 more in the pipeline. I'd love to drive that little VW roadster, but it's just a concept at this point. I'm sure we will get one if it makes production. I have driven the Euro-spec Audi TT 2.0TDI, which is a similar drivetrain, and it was a blast. Very promising for VW.

  • this one of the best review ever

and talking about a sea of box's why do Cadillac make car that look like some one drew it with a ruler they need to look at vw,BMW,Mercedes

and in the economy downturn of the car industry they they need a halo car ,ford mondeo that why it done so well in the uk and germany(ha ha)

this one of the best review in usa on a European view thank you garage 419

  • Bit of a Top Gear feel to that last segment... Nice job and awesome production quality, good shots, german hate, bit of history and a personal touch - deffinetly awesome concept.

  • its not a pretty car is it?

  • those orange lights under the headlights dont look any good.. they are white on the european version.

    FICK DICH FICK DICH hahaha

  • That may be true, but he is indeed German and does speak fluent German

  • When you said you do not care about all those blind spots because of how good looking it is...well I am pretty sure you will care when you go to change lanes one day and do not see someone coming. BOOM!

The only exception for me getting a car with blind spots is a sports car.

  • I've never driven a car with blind spots so bad that moving your head in a different way didn't fix the problem.

  • I have test driven some cars lately that made me wonder what the Engineers were thinking. I have seen some of the cars I test drove on the road, and the people almost crashed on the highway because there was a car in the blind spot I noticed when test driving the same exact vehicle. I drive an 86 T/A so I have a blind spot or two, it doesn't bother me..but apparently is does for flaky drivers. Have you noticed how large A- pillars in cars lately? That is annoying.

  • likin the show. the car does look nice. when did u do this episode the gas prices are over 2 dollars. down here in texas its like $1.60

  • Those are the prices in the northeast, we filmed it last week.

  • the fuck was that supposed to mean? so if you can't understand someone the "cool" thing to do is to treat them like shit?

That was so pretentious. Matt wouldn't do that in real life.

  • Yeah german

  • Haha in that tunnel at 8:58 I did 130mph in my Speed6....I later found out that there are like 150 cameras down there! Good thing no one was paying attention that day. :D

  • not liking the music. doesn't suit the g419 image or host. car looks alright, but not spectacular IMO. liking the new accord and altima much better.

  • That's one of those cars you see on the road and go ah the new Passat, and keep on driving, its just there, rarely noticed and not a head turner.

  • Awesome episode, and i completely agree with B1zzlesnaff

  • lmao that was a funny ass episode......but i agree on the fact that vw diidnt put the dsg or a manual tranny in this car. and that the awd doesnt come with the 2.0T. looks badass seems nice just dont put any germans in my trunk......lmao

  • holy-terrorist:> cool sorry im not looking all video

  • All's I have to say is (Wow) I loved this episode. The music, the intro, the the comparison of the Volkswagen to the unique looking building. Keep this up because I loved it. THIS is the Garage 419 I want to see. THIS is the type of entertainment that I want to watch when I come to YouTube. Keep this up and 5 Stars, a well done as well as a side of thank you for making me a very satisfied viewer is what you will keep getting from me.

  • Matt...

As an avid viewer of your show, and a fan of your genre of auto news, I would like to commend you on this episode.

The introduction was classy. Perfect music and introduction to a car. You guys are really growing with experience...and surpassed my doubts.

    gj.

  • Good idea taking on the Top Gear theme and keeping it strait forward as always.

That place is famous for the chowder but a couple blocks back has better stuff...

(p.s. the german said "shit!" when he was in the trunk...but in german)

  • I like the front of the cc but the rear is fugly

  • i like profile, but you are right, rear is fugly.

  • i happen to walked into a vw dealer the other day n saw this car...i was like..wth is this?? new passat?? looks FANTASTIC!!!!

  • COOL I LOVE IT

  • i love snichle

  • im guessing your not targeting this twards germans?

  • YOU CRIMINAL! but top gear, i like it

  • this car is very stylish looking it looks great!

  • Very 'Top Gear'

    Nice One.

  • that awd with a manual gearbox would be a brillian idea.

  • I LOVE your reviews - they are straight from the gut and tell things as they are. Keep up the good work.

  • Next time get a real gerMAN. :D

And make comedy funnyer if u r gonna have it in ur show...

  • That's what turned me away from considering this car, no DSG in the states. I agree with Matt, that was indeed a bad call. Especially since DSG is available in other VW models and sister companies.

  • good review, but the german thing was corny

  • hey you shud do a review on how the european models/asia models are fairing against there american versions for example ford bringing the feista i think it is to america. and the ford american equilavent not sure wht it is

  • Good show today. I like the involved driving experience (ie manual transmission) as well and less car's are offered with this as an option. Could you compare 4 door sedans/hatch backs in the small to mid-size range someday that come with 5 or 6 speed manual.

  • it looks like a 4 door mercedes cl

  • Who are they trying to fool. Even if i didn't speak German I could tell this guy is faking it. Stick to car talk and car reviews, and lose the bad acting.

  • Love the car though.

  • Actually he was speaking real German the entire time.

  • German with an English accent!

  • Matt, you and the rest of the G419 crew are turning into a US New Media equivalent to Fifth Gear/Top Gear, and I like it. Keep up the great work!

  • Good video guys, way to try and mix it up, could probably get rid of the german though, and honestly, the video doesn't do the car justice. If you think it looks cool in the video, you'll think it looks amazing in person.

  • not really.... its uugly

  • Great show minus the german

very top gear-ish love the review and the extra knowledge you drop matt but please lose the cheesey acting you guys are above that be classy leave the bad acting to Derek D

  • bad acting from that wana be german, please G419 dont come up with stupid ideas, this video would have been more interesting without the "german" dude.

  • I thought that was funny, and funny is good. He spoke real german and didn't "act" that bad. Nice review, very nice intro and a very nice looking VW. A DSG really is a must in those.

  • DSG is a must in EVERY car

  • Can't argue with you there. Can't stand manual trannies any more.

  • That's what she said. Seriously.

  • DSG is really heavy, expensive and not very reliable. It's NOT a must in every car.

  • your best video ever

  • Matt,

Great video and pretty funny at times. The new VW Passat CC looks simular to the Benz CLS. Look at it from the side. I will be posting this on my site ad the featured video at AutomotiveAddicts

  • Wow to scripted. Matt if you want a part on Top Gear US (Obviously not anymore) ither try over acting like you know your badly acting. Like when Jeremy was showing how "obviously no one can get into this parking lot" In the best driving road segment. Or you act it better, to an art. Don't make it look scripted. However I can't see how you would do so thow with a bad storyline such as this. The whole putting him in the trunk just ruined it. Other then that good job and keep posting.

  • Whats the name of the song at the beginning

  • looks like a benz

  • i say the same thing!!! was about to post a comments saying that. and i saw urs!! yeah it looks like a mercedez benz!!!

  • I just dont get one thing whats the difrence then between a four door coupe and a sedan?

  • There really isn't any. But if you go by existing cars that fall into that category, the CLS class Benz and Passat CC, the definition would be frameless doors, a low, swoopy roof, and coupe-ish styling.

  • So a coupe is more about style and sleek aerodynamics. So that means a sedan is more just raw simple 4 dour car wich is more about low price?

  • Its a more simple 4-door design, yes, but isn't necessarily about low price. In fact, I believe, depending on how you configure options, that a "regular" Passat is more expensive than a CC.

  • do u think they will come out with a wagon version?

  • lol five stars even if I'm not a big VW fan. but keep making those vids guys we all love em.

  • I think I would rather go with a GLI if I wanted a larger VW. 6spd or DSG and the 2.0 TFSI is better than a V6 with a slushbox.

  • lately i have noticed that you guys arent posting HQ videos or even HD. WHY!?!?!?!?

  • they do. it jus takes awhile

  • New England Clam Chowder...is that the red or the white?

  • I didn't know they had red chowder!

  • I can never remember that! ..... White!?!?

  • Such a great car, stunning to look at too!

Over the bridge looks like it could be the advert for it, just picture it in black and white though, bit more stylish

  • Do not abuse the Germans

  • this is high quality?

  • Hey man, they're new. Give them some time.

  • I like the Passat CC
