  • Thanks. Sorry, I can't remember the dimensions of the sail, it was drawn up for me by Robin Blaine of Sunbird Marine in the UK for an earlier project that didn't get off the ground. If you are interested in Junk rigs get yourself a copy of 'Practical Junk Rig' by H.G.Hasler and J.K.McLeod. It has everything you need to design and develop your own sails.

  • Mighty fine looking craft - can you recall the sq ft size of the sail and where you obtained the pattern plse - I've become really keen on junk rigs recently

  • Thanks for the comment. Sorry, no more photos on the web, but I'm trying to get an article published including photos of the build. If I succeed I'll post a link here. If not, I'll see what I can do about sharing them.

  • i just love your design, is there any phots on the web ,would love to se more views of the main hull ,

  • Very Nice! I love the design. I have a junk rigged proa, and the rig never ceases to impress me!

  • Very interesting. How does this rig compare to others ?

  • I have a 36' junk-rigged schooner, but have done most of my training and sailing on bemudan rigs. I believe the truth lies somewhere between the almost religious following of the junk devotees and the innnately conservative (and ill-informed) condemnation of the majority of yachties. All I can say is it suits me. It is a very cheap, simple, safe, efficient, easily handled rig for cruising short-handed. It points like a gaffer and goes like a train off the wind. Try one and see for yourself.

  • nice job!
