The Greasepole event is one of the final events that make up the Engineering Frosh Week; earlier in the week all the frosh get their hair painted fluorescent colours and creatively spiked and held with industrial-strength glues.
The only way to get rid of these so-called Eng-cuts is to remove them completely.

This is only partly true.
Eng Cuts are done with thick food grade gelatin and then covered in spray paint. You don't need to have your head shaved to get it out. Most girls get them and don't cut their hair at all.
Guys just get Mohawks or other styles cut into their hair, which they end up shaving out when the eng cut is done.

I am tam frosh. Fucking insane watching it from 3rd person. But obviously i had to put it on. I got basically the entire tam (minus the inner liner) so i had to put it on. Eventhough it took 5 hours over the course of 2 days to wash the lanolin out of my hair. SCI ONE ONE!!!

Took bloody forever but we finally got it. I couldn't breathe when tam frosh (Scott) was reaching for it but i sure as hell wasn't gonna call break then.
