  • Doesn't G.C. Cameron sound a bit like Smokey Robinson on "Don't Wanna Play Pajama Games" from 1973?

  • Oh yeah, he sounds a lot like him on that.

  • Beautiful, it brings me back to the good old days.

  • Great, that's the reaction I wanted to get from people!!!

  • Well, you got it. ;)

  • OMG! I never knew Diana Ross recorded For Once in My Life and her version is crazy! is it just me or does stacie johnson sound like a little Michael Jackson? lol

From re-watching your earlier Motown vids to this one, you can definitely hear the shifts/differences in the sound of each decade. Loving all the musical education!!

    ~Kay

  • Yeah Kay, her version is crazy, I really like it!!! And I think Motown was trying to have a female counterpart for the J5, but nothing happened with her. I'm so glad you watched these to hear the differences, it does boggle the mind!!! LOL Thanks dude!!!

  • Ok sis I'll holla!!! LOL

  • Wow, I didn't know Love Hangover was a remake! Diana's is still the best, but Jr. Walker's is so funky!

Big up's for Tata Vega's song... love her voice.

  • Actually, The 5th Dimention made the original, Diana's came second, & Jr. recorded his after I believe, but it stayed in the can until the early 80's. It really is a funky version tho. I LIVE for Tata, what a unique voice. I like to think she was one of the first Neo-Soul artists cause even back then, her music was so different!!!

  • I've heard very few of her of secular songs, and am more familiar with her from singing with Andre and Sandra Crouch.

  • Her R&B stuff an be hard to find, but it's worth it when you do find it.

  • 1) you WERE a cute baby...mhm

    2) Love hangover gives me everything I want...

    3) those 70's album covers takes me through the loop...

  • LOL you & these lists!!! Thanks for the complement on the baby pics, & which "Hangover" version are you talking about? The one by Jr. Walker that I used here, or Diana? Cuz I love both!!!

  • Um, Diana of course...lol

  • Should have known!!! LOL

  • Remember when Berry Gordy stepped down as Motown boss and Jheryl Busby took over in 1988 and the sale to MCA Records/Boston Ventures? Also, do you remember Darryl Duncan and Mello Mackin-D & Mr. Stretch?

  • I remember that & I remember being very upset about that, eventhough I was 9 at that time!!! LOL I know those 2 artists, but they did nothing for me whatsoever!!!

  • Out of all the white artists on the Motown label, who was your favorite?

  • Teena Marie, who was yours?

  • The songs "Where Do You Go" and "We Are The Future" where my favorites lol. Yeah on that one funky looking album cover I kept turning my head lmao what the hell.

  • Oh yes dude, I love those 2, does your mom know them? And when I tell you, I always wondered why they chose that picture for the cover of that album, it's disgusting!!! LOL

  • OK! See, you've done it again! I am on my way to download these songs. Great vid! :-)

  • LMAO good luck finding some of these sis!!! LOL Thanks so much!!!

Thanks for this great memories attached to this music. Great change of scenery as well all everything looks so bright and cheery!!!!!

  • Dude, Diana worked that song, okay!!! LOL Did you live in my house, cuz Sunday's was the same thing, except mines started out with Gospel!!! LOL Everybody likes where I'm sitting in this vid, I just changed my seat, I've sat there in a few other vids, just not during the day!!! LOL Glad you enjoyed this Telle, and please show this to your mom if you get the chance!!!

  • Hey man didn't Ms. Ross do a version of "Hangover" with an uptempo beat?

Loved that song from Glady's Knight & the Pips, "Don't tell Me I'm Crazy."

High-Energy, WOW! Forgot about those ladies.

Thanks man, this was a great trip down memory lane as always. Stay true!

  • Thanks so much buddy, happy holidays to you too!!!

  • G.C. Cameron...didn't he write or sing the original, "It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday?" Didn't think I knew that, did ya? LOL

Anyway, thanks for another entertaining vid. I enjoyed it as always! Peace!

  • Ha ha, yes he sang the original version featured in the "Cooley High" movie, very good!!! LOL Glad you enjoyed this!!!

  • Ah-ha! See, we could rack up if we went on a game show and the category was Motown. LMAO!

  • OMG sis, I'm not to be messed with when it comes to Motown!!! LMAO I would love that tho!!!

  • Loving the music as usual bro. Loved the new background makes you look brighter.

  • Yeah, that's cause I did this in the day time. LOL Glad you enjoyed dude!!!

  • of course bro i enjoyed this vid...now im gonna go check out the other two...much luv!!!!

  • I'm so glad you did sis, thanks so much!!!

  • How the detroit sound went commercial aka hollywood and interesting take. The sound changed and lost its push. Eric and the Vikings & Lenny played too much in the house.

  • LOL you crazy Rob, but hey, nothing lasts forever. Something or someone had to knock Motown out of the top spot, Berry Gordy was just the one that did it when he moved the label.

  • Talk about a kindler gentler time ...1974 ...a group called "Bottom and Company" ......."spreading the news " LOL at this point in the evolution of MO-Town I had just about given up on them ....they ahd some less than stellar records .......oh well you brought out the flavor for real !!........:-)....with respect!!

  • You & a whole lot of other people payed Motown dirt by the mid 70's cuz there was no sound to identify with them. Plus, Marvin & Stevie was really doing their own thing by now too. You would notice that song & artist!!! LMAO

  • I'm observant my brother!!............LOL

  • LOL

  • the 50 are my fav !

  • But Lux, you don't like the 70's dude? LOL

  • mR, kEVin hoW Are U?

  • Leo, I'm gonna beat you up for not calling me!!!!!!!! LOL

  • Keep doing your thing, enjoyed it Kev.

    C.

  • Thanks dude!!!
