I love this song! And I think its called Babooshka not because of the Grandma meaning, but because its another word for Russian nesting dolls? As in, in the song she sings about a woman pretending to be someone who is baisically a younger version of herself, almost like a Babooshka doll with another doll inside... but she never realized that both were apart of the same doll.

That's just my interperation of it anyway.

I love Giblin's lines, but there is no information about him. He has no solo albumbs or a band, but i can recognize almost every line he made inmediatly. He is a great bass melodist.

Could not agree more about the lines. He was a kind of honorary member of the Simple Minds for a time and made some records with Brand-X where Percy Jones normally played the fretless. I love hist style. The reason why I looked up the word fretless when I was 14. :) Eberhard Weber and Del Palmer did also great bass-work for Kate. I love variety. :)

The 1979 "Product". According to the german wikipedia entry on giblin he composed Rhesus Perplexus, April und Wal to wal on this album. It seems I got it wrong saying it were "some records". Jones seems to have been unavailable for the recordings and Phil Collins brought him in.
