the M5 is ugly. its a 4-door saloon. Nothing compared to the beauty of the XKR... in anycase, its in a different class... there's no point comparing two different classed cars.

The old XKR had 400 bhp this has 420 so it just 20 more than the old one. Merc and BMW make coupes with 500+ bhp so Jag looks a bit behind them, but still I would rather have this XKR than something german, because it is so much better looking and so much cooler and I believe that it is faster than the standart Aston V8 and cheaper as well.

I see what you mean, but keep in mind Jaguar is now all aluminum monochoque bodied/frame, while mercedes and BMW are still using stamped steel.

the germans chose more power, Jag chose to make their cars lighter. But just wait till the new 5.0L direct injected 500HP supercharged engine comes out from jag next year (2009) that will be fantastic

Yeah, I've heard something about that car... Jag is on the right way making it's cars lighter, because big weight is just a killer of every car. Saving weight is the right way to move forward. Arden tuned this XKR to get more power (480 bhp) but they spoiled the looks I think so when Jaguar will make more powerful XKR I believe that it will be just superb if they won't spoil the looks of it.

I think you should go with the Jag. Its such a great car. Total luxury and very fast, plus it looks amazing. It did cost a bit extra for me since the dealer had a premium on it, so your pretty lucky you wont have to pay that. Go with the Jag. You will love it.

You might have a ferrari, it might be faster .... but your ferrari will go from 0 60mph (0-100km/h) and then blow up/break, unlike a Jaguar, the italians apply rust-proofing with a spoon, the interior is made out of the cheapest plastic, and it is built with all the care of a 3rd world plumbing system, this is a supercar you can use everyday .... not every other week because it's gone wrong (again) !
