Batts was such a positive character. It's such a shame he got beaten to a pulp, brutally stabbed 9 or 10 times with a fucking monster of a kitchen knife and then shot 4 times, point blank :(. A interesting way to go though nonetheless
@gubbbies whats erie is that i posted this comment a year ago and i was thinkink about this comment today and was like damn i posted that a while ago and went back on here to find that sumbody replied
best intro ever ! henry opened the pandora box, his trunk, and there's a half dead man covered in cloth and tommy stabbed him so many times and jimmy shot him 3 times...
Depends on your taste. But in terms of cinemaic brilliance, Godfather wins hands down... says me and most qualified critics. No denying that Goodfellas is a great movie itself.
it's a nice movie ok but look the top 10 mob movies the godfather no.1 scarface no.2 goodfellas no.3 ;)!!! and for me is this movie on number 3 but it doesn't matter it's one of the hottest movies i've ever seen!!!!
It depends. The Godfather Saga is about a real Sicilian Family, whereas GoodFellas centres around when the 'glamour of the mob' came down. But the violence and the stellar acting...yeah I agree. But maybe not Mob movie more 'Wiseguy'.
Sorry if I'm being obnoxious as you did write this 5 months ago! LOL
No. Not from what I have read. He just made a subtle joke and nothing more, about how Tommy used to shine shoes. That's it. Tommy, being the psycho that he was, came back to the bar 3 weeks later and killed Billy. And Billy didn't even see him coming. H ethought Tommy was his pal.
Batts really dident deserve that. I mean he just got back from jail and was trying to have some fun. Tommy shouldent have taken it so seriously "shinebox".
He got the idea of the movie from the book. But the guy in the truck scene came from the Shanda Sharer case, according to a Scorsese documentary I saw once.
Martin got the guy in the trunk scene from that horrible torture and murder those girls did to Shanda Sharer. Look it up, if you don't all ready know about it.

Not as good as the Godfathers', but definately in the top 4 top gangster movies (Scarface is in there). Joe Pesci plays a great role so well.
