  • @Leenos no...just no

  • @Leenos I'm sure it is

  • foo fighters...

    forever!!!

  • Jeez, Dave has such a soothing voice as a frontman for a hard rock band. Blends nicely.

  • Probable my favorite Foo Fighters song to this day.

  • @Fizzcarzi :O Which album was that?

  • i just find it so damn impressive that one man made this shit, its to good

and thanks greg for a kick ass guitar part!

  • first CD i ever bought, i was 8. this is the best album foo fighters did

  • @LackOfSelfWorth

I think I was around 13, I just looked at their discography and I couldn't believe this was the first album they did! Definitely their best album.

  • @LackOfSelfWorth aww...poor emo kid...you need a soother?...hmm? a suckle of some breast milk maybe? or a good old spank to discipline you...lol jk.

  • This song gets so boring after 4:20 :(

  • ROCK AND GROHL!!!

  • Cool you included the lyrics.

Yeah it's a pretty simple song but there's something so trippy about it.

Circa 1995, my first joint, and this playing on a boombox at the beach, under the stars, coyotes circling, beers a floating.

FUCK WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE CREATE A TIME MACHINE INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON ERECTILE DEFICIENCIES, COSMETIC SURGERY, AIDS and CANCER RESEARCH.

  • @Bagelbutcher

I agree with erectile defiencies and cosmetic surgery but not with the last too, the way you say it sounds damn egoistic, maybe i'm trippin' but my mother is dying on cancer you know and that's seriousely fucked up :-( What about a time machine AND a cure for those damn deceases!

  • @Bagelbutcher yeah, we need to go back to a better time. It would be awesome to have a time travel machine.

  • This wasn't really the Foo Fighter's debut album.

It's more like Dave Grohl's debut album because he's the one who did

everything in this album. It was just him at first:p

  • @NIRVANA4LIFE123 Actually, Dave had a solo album before this under the name "Late!" The album was released only on cassette tape for a short time in the early 90's, so it's extremely hard to find.

Just a bit of trivia. :B

  • A lot of the songs on this were written FOR Nirvana before Kurt's death, so it makes sense that this album reminds people the most of Nirvana.

  • @helikestv thats bullshit mate

  • fave. song on this album

  • there first album is sort of like a nirvana and foo's cross over cause its got good points of both bands :)

  • Classic song!

  • undersinging this one is actually quite difficult

  • I love the melancholy of their first ablum. The next 4 were good too.

  • I love the overlapping Pro Rat distortions.

  • Greg Dulli! :)

  • Starts out as a rip off of Ted Nugent's "Free For All" opening guitar lick.

  • STFU

  • fucking love this song!!

  • His voice sounds especially sexy in this song :)

  • 0:23 #1

  • ive always really liked the foo fighters, and as i go thru each phase in my life it seems like a new sound style becomes what i listen to for a while.

weeks months in hell with adderall widthdrawl and lots of life reflection has made me like this song in particular lately.

    long live the foo's

  • in my top 10 favorite albums of all time...and this is my favorite song on the album

  • this is god tier. my personal favorite from the band.

last lines are "wish i would've felt i'd won, for once".

  • this foo's old stuff is fuckin awesome!

  • I love taking a shit and wiping my ass with a grey sock to this song! Fuck you haters I can enjoy that if I want your not the boss of me piss off.

  • LMAO, thats just weird

  • Ha, I know some people out there will mark this a bad comment, but I think this song sounds most like Nirvana out of all the songs on this album.

  • True, but i think exhausted sounded more like nirvana then anything. IMO the entire album sounded like Nirvana

  • when i meet my wife, I heard this song wishing despertly to have sex with her. this song make me fell so jerk, jajaja!!! I love you darling!!!!

  • what an honest and funny remark, i only can appreciate you being male and horny all the time and are not afraid to admit it, besides, you obviously think your wife is smoking hot so i don't see the point why people marked this as inappropriate at all!

  • When I heard this song I was desperately thinking about having sex with your wife as well.

    Err, I mean, MY girlfriend...

  • @ AgentsRecord hahaha i laughed my ass off!

  • @AgentsRecord LMAO!!!!!

  • @AgentsRecord This is the best comment on YouTube, ever. This is coming from a man who has read at least 20 comments.

  • @AgentsRecord you obviously haven't met her mother then...RAWR!

  • @AgentsRecord Yeah! This song makes you think about sex... But, not sex... Just love...

  • @AgentsRecord Yeah! This song makes you think about sex... But, not exactly sex... Just sex with the person you love... Love...

  • Simply... Perfect

  • Grohl is God !

    LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE !!!!

  • I would have loved to hear this song live

  • Fuckin' gun-powder guyz!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • -All the static we all left!- One of the many great foo fighters songs that i admire! :P GO DAVE!!!!!!

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hmm I believe that Nirvana album is called Bleach, not self titled. As for the song here, this is Foo's best album IMO. I think Exhausted is my favorite track, but this one is great too.

  • Best song on the album in my opinion, five stars my friend!

  • This is my absolute favorite Foo song. Anyone agree?? It's what I'd call a shower song. A shower song is a great thing people.

  • lol i was singing it in my shower this morning!

  • @TylerAlford : LOL word, dude!! very few tracks are worthy of shower status

  • @TylerAlford Agreed!

  • @TylerAlford Yes, I agree that this is your absolute favorite Foo song

  • @TylerAlford a song you listen too while having a shower? cos i sometimes bring my CD player into the bathroom while I'm showering. Makes them so much more fun :)

  • @TylerAlford Almost as good as Fix You.

  • Dave grohl is the Phil Collins of Nirvana.

  • noooooo

  • this album was foo's best. Sorry but I feel that way. Listen to the shredding guitar in the opeing seconds. Wooooooooo! This album was right after Nirvana. This album is greaaaaaaaaat!

  • yea id agree with that.....all grohl's stuff right after nirvana is the best ....pocketwatch..this and the color and the shape are the best stuff...the newer stuff isnt as good

  • I think the new stuff just takes more time like you have to listen to it a couple times before you realize its amazing.

  • all the songs are good in my mind:)

  • i thought there is nothing left to lose was a pretty good album as well. it had some not great songs but it also had a few great as well

  • What's this album called?

  • foo fighters lol retard

  • Just foo fighters?

I guess...Nirvana made an album called nirvana.

  • actually no, first nirvana album called bleach =S

  • I know???

    I....never said it wasn't?

  • but you said that nirvana made an album called nirvana

  • Yeah they did

I never said it was there first?

  • but they don't have any album that called nirvana

  • Ye they do. The one with a black cover and it has 'Nirvana' in silver in the middle.

  • but they have only bleach nevermind incesticide and in utero

  • It's a compilation album, like a Greatest Hits thing.

  • ya, i now i know it =S

  • Nirvana did make a S/T album.

But it was the other (British) Nirvana. lol.

  • ya i know ^^

  • low quality recording :(

  • Oh man, you can definatly hear some Nirvana still in Foo Fighters today. Dave Grohl forever.

  • thats what makes them so great. its THE NIRVANA ELEMENT! XD

  • Is it just me or does this song have an Alan Parsons Project feel? Just curious. This is one of my fav. Foo's songs.

  • I can't stop listening to this song. I had never heard their first album, so I downloaded it the other day. This song is the shit. God bless Dave grohl.

  • the first is the best one...dave wrote/performed all the tracks except one guitar track on this song

    cheers,

    -M

  • foo fighters debut is def best. dave did all the songs solo...recorded and overdubbed all the tracks, except of course fo rthis one with dulli on lead.

  • not a big foo fighters fan but this song is awesome

  • one thing i really liked about nirvana songs was that the drums were crisp and clear-sounding. so why is dave's drumming on this album so muffled-sounding?

  • cause its not nirvana

  • it's still dave drumming though. my point was that his drumming sounds totally different on his own songs for some reason

  • In the Nirvana songs Kurt wrote all the music, but almost all of Foo Fighters was written by Dave. Maybe it's an aspect of his wriing style, I don't know though. Maybe it's the recordings quality, but I don't hear any muffling that you hear. Maybe it's also how the tracks were layed on top of each other.

  • the drums sound AWESOME on this recording... fucking huge. They sound real... not overcompressed... Great sounding room... Just SO good. I'd take this drum sound over Butch Vig's any day.

  • wtf is OVERCOMPRESSED?

  • maybe the drumming sounds muffled to you on this because most of it is double kick...with some cymbals

  • idk if you can really consider this foo fighters. considering the fact that dave grohl recorded the whole album by himself with the help of Greg Dulli on this song but other than that this is all Dave Grohl

  • I am having trouble hearing Greg Dulli's part...was it meant to be subtle?

  • He pretty much plays one chord the entire song. It's the droning high E that's playing in the background.

    Dm

  • best album by F.F, Very raw sound compared 2 echos, silence, patience, and grace

  • kind of subtle but yeah raw

  • agreed

  • The best album outta the whole Foo catalogue.

  • i too feel the same way but colour and the shape was great too not one bad song on it

  • i love the drum parts to this song...

    long live the foo fighters

  • i still can't believe that Dave could do this completely by himself (except the second guitar part)

Amazing song, gotta go get this album!!!

  • dnt 4get the drumming, thts wut he shuld b most known 4

  • Their first album is one of the best, x-static and this is a call are my two fav songs :D

    Foo fighters 4 life

  • foo fighters, best band ever! never shall i forget them! they played a big role in my childhood. i personally think that only their new album echoes silence patience and grace isnt as good as the old ones... foo fighters for life!

  • What a tune, the best song they ever did.

  • This is the only Foo Fighters album i enjoy. Their new stuff is a little too poppy for me. X-STATIC is one the best songs of the 90's

  • eh

    i love all things foo

theyve changed over the years, but thats good if a band doesnt change it gets repetitive

  • i still say this was their best album, but i'm old.

  • If I were a professional reviewer, I would rate this album 5 stars out of 5

  • Anyone who isnt totally retarded would do the same!

  • lovley song,i love dave he's graet

  • what an album. my favourite of all the foos albums.

  • yep

  • id go with in your honour, but i love all there albums

  • this and number two

  • has sort of a combined grunge and shoegaze feel. grunge trapped in a wall of noise.

  • i think the chorus in this song sounds really similar to the chorus of "cath..." on the new death cab for cutie album

  • maybe the drums. guitar sounds nothing like it.

  • What's the part Greg Dulli played?

  • The chrous. You can hear it build up with sound.

  • love greg dulli...afghan whigs were the sh*t

  • Never owned this album b4. I heard a few songs off it after getting into Nirvana. Fast forward four years later and now i am hearing this stuff. Found a factory sealed LP of this album so i will be getting it. Vinyl all the way.

  • there best album

    or Dave's best

  • I love this album. You can hear alot of the old Nirvana influence in the early stuff (especially the drum beat in this track). It wasn't so obvious back then as it is now. They have matured a great deal these days though. It'll be 14 years since Kurt died next month. Can you believe that shit? Dave Grohl is bigger than ever!

  • Best Foo Fighters' song in my humble opinion.

  • yeah totaly agree its there best album i even bought the cassette way back in 1995! lol foo has good songs on all there albums but this album wow somany good songs never heard on radio

  • What guitar part did Greg Dulli play? did he play the part that Dave Grohl probably could've played but he didn't? cuz i didn't hear any complicated solos or anything, just that rhythm through the whole song, which eventually got kinda annoying

  • I believe that now Dave can play all the song.........listen The Ballad Of Beaconsfield Miners of the last album, for example

  • actually kaki king also plays on Ballad Of Beaconsfield Miners

  • lmaoo oh burn.

  • i think dulli played the intro guitar and grohl did the rhythm -- you can hear the s.g. on the rhythm part

  • actually he used his white les paul for this album, which he later tried to make look like a matchbox racer, and ending up trashing it by accident!

  • thank you, bigmuffexpress; i stand corrected! i heard tales of that matchbox racer, but have yet to see it prior to its demise!

  • Yep, that's Dulli playing the high E chord (Position 2) through the whole song.

    Dm

  • dulli ROX!

  • DUH SORRY! didn't read the about this video

  • thanks for posting this-great song. wish i could understand what the lyrics are

  • ... in the description? as with every single song posted by this person on this album... probably my favourite album from my childhood, brings back lots of memories of the stuff i used to do listenin to it:D

  • this is the best begining of a song ever! and this is their best album

  • jesus this album was blinding......this and the color and the shape were unreal....the latest few albums are crap compared to this

  • I completely agree!

  • i completely agree with you catcusflagg

  • One of my favourite Foo Fighters songs ever. Reminds me of yester-year.

  • Greg Dulli... Afgahn Whigs... this song is amazing!

  • thanks for that...forgot the dude's name from the whigs

  • OuaHA =X

    AWESOME

  • Greg Dulli

  • I always loved the drumming on this song. And the intro is one of the first songs I learned how to play on the electric guitar.

  • Same here. This was the FIRST song I learned to play on acoustic and electric.

    Dm

  • I like this song very much. I love how at the very beginning the music makes it seem like the song is gonna be very different than what it is, but then it morphs into the song it actually is. If anyone gets what I am trying to point out, u are amazing!! lol yay foo fighters :D

  • This is one of my favorite foo fighters songs for some reason. I remember listening to this playing my PS1 right when it first came out. Craziness.

  • Glad you like it. The drumming on this song has a sort of swagger to it, really good. Ive still got about 5 songs left on this album to post.

  • i've been searching for this on youtube for a long time...my favorite song from their debut album (love the drums)...thanks for posting!
