It's easy to know how the cooler will take the air, is it in, or out, you can see simply by watching how wings are stationed, if they are like...hard in English to explain, it has to be shown, it's like each wing is chopping air with the way how the wing is places, it's kinda logically understandable if you know how the fan works and how to manipulate wind or air, but hard to explain :/
This product is pre filled with liquid and is a closed system and needs nothing, all you do is install and your ready to go. Thumbs up so people can see that you do not need to buy liquid for this :)
ok so im thinking of buying this one but im not to sure how to handle the water! Is there already water in it? If not, how do i apply some. And do i need to change water sometimes like once a week?
I paid around 600-700$ for my water cooling system about 2 years ago, now we have this for $70, and its fricken heaps better than a big arse pump and radiator, this is great, love it, so quite to run.
@TheIndeed005 Its a closed seal unit, you never have to fill it up, not like the old systems, I just replaced my huge radiator and reservoir, pump and pipes, and put this in it, and wow, I am impressed how simple and great it is, and QUITE, I have to keep checking its working lol.
@zodiac868 i was wondering the same thing. already comes with water inside if you didnt see these comments already..used this in my build with the 1100t on msi 870
Hey jeff ? do i send this POS back to newegg or you guys ? .. i cant say im really happy right now comming home from work .. ready to start my new build and i find trash in a corsair box
Just got this cooler from newegg in a sealed box today 7/15/11 ... radiator fins were trashed .. anyone want a cardboard box and a set of instructions for this cooler for free ?
This cooler would totally screw my ventilation system. My case brings air in from the 200mmtop and 120mmfront fans and blows out the back. With air blowing inside the case from the bak would bring hot air in. By replacing the original to bring air in from the bak will give the hot air nowhere to go.
@browser067 You'd realy be better off having the top fan as an exhaust fan. Noone normaly uses a top fan to draw air in. As warm air rises, it would be better as an exhaust fan.
Do you have to purchase liquid when buying this product? or does the radiator come prefilled with the liquid? this is something everyone is leaving out of their videos.. no information on the actual liquid... i'm wanting to purchase this but i dont know if i need to purchase a special liquid....
@kornelious1 no u don't wanna buy any liquid for this, its pre filled i don't know wats the liquid inside but u don't need any liquid, just buy and fix thats all....im also fixed this cooler
@kornelious1 It's prefilled with water and glycol and other shit. So you basically don't need to do shit but clean the radiator and the fan from dust and other shit :) I bought the h60 myself, pretty much the same shit id say
@kornelious1 i have the h50. it comes already filled with whatever liquid they use in it. its a closed loop system. you don't have to fill/refill anything.
I have a storm scout case that has a 120mm fan could i mount on the radiator as it is a led fan in my case and use the corsair as a pull. so i have the corsair fan on the outside pulling the air in and my led the inside side of the radiator to pull air thru? and wouldn't that increase the cooling a bit as well i hear a lot of ppl do that
I have a storm scout case that has a 120mm fan could i mount that as a push fan on the radiator as it is a led fan in my case and use the corsair as a pull. so i have the corsair fan on the outside pulling the air in and my led inside still?
What's the height on the fan and radiator? The cpu mount is around 55mm high right? So that leaves me with around 100mm left for the fan and radiator to fit will i have enough room?
What's excess of the radiator's height? I know the total excess is 32mm (152mm rad - 120mm fan), but it looks like the part where the hoses are connected is slightly taller. This may sound like a bit of an odd question but it could make the difference of whether it would actually fit into my case (NZXT hush)
@fullytrainedidiot ohh one last question plz answer..ist it water-cool- use water????and last does i need to fill it with water ?? im know to water cooling and im thinking of buying it plz answer
yesterday installed my newly arrived H50. I followed the instructions, removed the old paste and replaced it with a new one. did everything correct AFAIK, got my computer running and 5 minutes later, the computer crashes and tries to reboot but it fails to do so.
Now this has been happening every single time. about 5 mins later after boot up the computer turns off and tries to reboot.
Hey man, I don't know your knowledge level so I'll give you the layman's way, please don't be offended.
Quick way:
Go into your BIOS (Usually pressing F2 or Delete on Startup)
Select Hardware Monitor (this name can change)
Now, simply check your temps - the most likely reason your PC is crashing is because your CPU is overheating or passing a certain threshold - Computers do this so as not to damage your components.
If that is the case, remount your cooler and you should be fine.
one last thing ( this might sound stupid of me) the fan is not directly attached to the computer because the FAN itselft was too big for my computers case.
Re-seat the RAM as in, take it out, clean the connectors and put them back in.
I see lots of benchmarkers and reviewers use the Corsair H-Coolers freely on test benches, so long as there's airflow wherever you have put it, it should be fine.
Your best bet is to see what happens when you try to use your old cooler.
Sounds like it might be a weak power supply. How many watts is your PS and what is it powering? If you type in "power supply calculator" in google you can find some sites to figure how much watts you need to power your system. Maybe the CPU cooler is putting it over the max.
simple my ass, it's prob only easy if you dont have to remove the whole mother board to put on a backplate... but if you hae a case liek this guy in the vid with the side cover to the back of the mother board then ur set! make sure b4 u buy or else ir will take a hour or more to do cuz instructions aint the best unless you can read shit. peace im around 30 degress c on my cpu now so i cant complain lol very quiet as well since its a 120 mm fan my old heatsink was like prob 96(small)
I just installed this yesterday, and my idle temps are about 40C, and hit 62 within 7 minutes of prim95.. I have not yet tried the dual fan push-pull on the radiator, but i do have a side fan, front fan, and the radiator back fan. I think temps should be a lot lower...
@xSuLFaTEx that i know it is pre-applied but after first use how to apply the paste because i applied it on the processor chip the temp went to 33c on idle and when i rubbed it of and applied it on the h70 cpu block the temp came down to 27c on idle i am using Cooler Master HTK-002 thermal paste
Can you tell what will happen when the pump is connected to a variable speed header? Though I am yet to assemble my H70 as soon as I get the motherboard.
Just installed this and it works great. I use an i7 950 which is very hot, used to idle at 50 degrees celsius with the stock cooler, it now idles at 25-30 degrees. :) Under load it would go up to 80 degrees and now only up to 40. I forgot the last part about leaving the screws untightened, so a bit of the thermal paste got rubbed off when I was trying to adjust it, but it still seems to work just like it should. This is probably one of the best bang for your buck heatsinks you can get right now.
hi quick question, i just bought the corsair h50 and i noticed that on both sides of the radiator some fins are bent, its not a lot, but there is one tiny area where the fins are bent the worst, will this affect the performance of the radiator in any way?
Wished you had this setup in 240 or even 360 with slim line radiator which you use at the H50. The H70 rad is so big, but i like the cpu sink of the H70. Choices, choices :(
I lost 2 of my threaded metal inserts! Does anyone know where I can find them and the dimensions? I went to home depot and ace hardware with no luck! I think they are called binding screws. Thanks for the help!
WAIT A MINUTE! on the site im going to buy this from it says it supports lga 1155 but the intel thing thats on the back of the motherboard only has the 775, 1156 and 1366 so does this fit with the lga 1155 somehow because i heard this cools very good and its pretty cheap and im also not going to change procesor just to get this cooling.
where is the thermal compound????

@d3vii4nt Those are optimal temperatures for an idle PC.
If it was me, and the only thing I had changed is the cooler - I would remount it anyway, reseat the RAM as well just to be extra diligent.

If this all doesn't help - try your old cooler again.

@jimiscorp It is pre-applied to it. Meaning you don't need any of it because it already is on it.
xSuLFaTEx 8 months ago
@xSuLFaTEx that i know it is pre-applied but after first use how to apply the paste because i applied it on the processor chip the temp went to 33c on idle and when i rubbed it of and applied it on the h70 cpu block the temp came down to 27c on idle i am using Cooler Master HTK-002 thermal paste
jimiscorp 8 months ago
@jimiscorp just put it on the h70 block and then on the cpu. just like the original
It actually doesn't matter if you put it cpu first, then on the block. Result is the same. Do what you prefer, and I think first on block.
xSuLFaTEx 8 months ago
@xSuLFaTEx so you prefer that i should first put it on the h70 block and then cpu ok thansks for the reply :)
jimiscorp 8 months ago
@jimiscorp yea thats how i did it

Alex148710 10 months ago
@yamy82xl I have an Antec 900 Gamer case and it also works the same. Just remove the side panel of the case.

hi quick question, i just bought the corsair h50 and i noticed that on both sides of the radiator some fins are bent, its not a lot, but there is one tiny area where the fins are bent the worst, will this affect the performance of the radiator in any way?

@chitownsteez nope

@ CorsairMemoryInc Does this fit the 1155 or no?
jonathanlanteigne 10 months ago
@jonathanlanteigne According to the official Corsair website, yes it will fit the 1155 socket.
davtra 10 months ago
@Ox1ze be like me, get a H70, don't ask why just do it :D
jonathanlanteigne 10 months ago
Wished you had this setup in 240 or even 360 with slim line radiator which you use at the H50. The H70 rad is so big, but i like the cpu sink of the H70. Choices, choices :(

I lost 2 of my threaded metal inserts! Does anyone know where I can find them and the dimensions? I went to home depot and ace hardware with no luck! I think they are called binding screws. Thanks for the help!

So you don't need to use your own thermal compound? Becuase I have the cheapest stuff I can find.

why is always Corsair SPEAKING MORE OF THEIR CASE`S THEN THE COOLER IT SELF?
einarknutsen 10 months ago
WAIT A MINUTE! on the site im going to buy this from it says it supports lga 1155 but the intel thing thats on the back of the motherboard only has the 775, 1156 and 1366 so does this fit with the lga 1155 somehow because i heard this cools very good and its pretty cheap and im also not going to change procesor just to get this cooling.
meanO3M 10 months ago
@meanO3M The socket 1156 and 1155 are the exact same size, it a cooler fits on one of them, it also fits on the other.
