Game 5 Appleton made an illegal break (if what Jim White said was true that 3 balls have to cross the head string) and the referee never caught it ..

@prarielake What are you talking about? 1) Appleton doesn't even break the 5th game, it's Van Boening (at a score of 3:1 for Appleton). There is only one illegal break in the match, it's Van Boenings in game 3. The rule is that 3 balls have to cross the headstring (they don't have to remain beyond it, just need to have crossed it. And every ball pocketed counts as one additionally.

And you surely mean Jim Wych, not Jim White.
