Has she ever even been to Mexico? Does she have in idea what kind of a hellhole it is for most natives down there? Ann Coulter is defending her commnet on Good Morning America based on what Bill mahr said here. She claims that saying "I hope John Edwards dies in a terrorist assassination plot" is alright to say based on what Bill Mahr said a few months ago here.

The problem is, Bill Mahr says no such thing in the clip. If anything he is defending the right to opine that way, but he is in no was espousing that point.

Maher clearly said he believed that if Cheney was not in power, fewer people would die needlessly. He also defended the right of people who actually wished Cheney dead to say so without being censored. He did not say "I'm sorry he didn't die in that terrorist attack", as Coulter would have you believe. Search YouTube and see for yourself.

Sorry guys, I am holding my ground here and siding with Olympion. The statement on Maher's show took place in the context of a discussion over freedom of expression. The expression Maher felt should not be banned was someone else's view that Cheney should die in a terrorist attack. He never wished that on Cheney. Maher DID say that if Cheney died, less US soldiers would die. Cheney could die of many things. A bus could hit him. He may have another blood clot.
