  • Offer a woman all you are. She'll flick you away, but then think of you as she searches for you in every other man on the earth, till she dies.

  • LEGEND!

  • Definition: Girls get bored..keep them interested or else they wil kick you.

  • This was when singing was singing!! Cant listen to enough of this great man.

  • I remember listening to him when I was little, mostly on trips to WV to see my Gramma and cousins. I loved him.

  • Music should be like this!

  • he reminds me of my dad...my dad's fav..

  • Such a sensitive man and a truly timeless talent. I was given his first album at the age of 14 years and became a lifelong fan of the great Gentleman Jim.

    R.I.P.

  • I remember those neck microphones! They would use them at the church I attended as a child back in the 60s. I thought they were really cool back then (my, how technology has changed!)...

A wonderful song and a great musician. Ronnie Milsap's cover of this reminded me of the original. Thanks for the upload.

  • i love him music was so great

  • I love his voice, so smooth and just beautiful, like floating in the air. He is the best vocalist ever.

  • 0:21 Well if this chap had access to subvocal TRS he would know if she is true lol

    Sweet tune btw...

  • @Begbucks In Mr. Reeves , As I believe in George Strait'scase also, they have the voices, they don't need tocover them with elecs,

  • @dianagbvt Certainly something more developed than pure talent I'd say.

  • grew up with jim's lp's playing in my house, & i still get the same feelings as i did then over 40 years ago, genteman jim, r.i.p

  • brilliant

  • Jim was such a mellow gentleman. His music is timeless and beautiful as ever. There will never be another like him and we miss him so. They just don't have this kind of talent in todays country. Those of us who grew up listening to Jim and Marty Robbins will continue to do so. No one has that kind of class and talent anymore.

    R & D

  • what you see is what you get.....pure talent

  • If you love acoustic music, add me in your friends list! Cheers!!

  • Plane crashes in the 60's took way too many talented people.....

  • Does anybody know if Jim had any children? just wondering

  • The bast singer in the world!!!! We miss u Man!!! Thanks to YOUTUBE>>> for keeping it live...

  • The bast singer in the world!!!! We miss u Man!!!

  • Would listen to Jim and Eddie on the radio late at night.

Looking back Mom played the radio because she was sad about Dad

  • Brings back memories of a long lost love.

  • What à gift to us!

    So sweet

    So smooth

  • Listened to this on my dads LP record played as a little kid. Funny how it sticks in your memory.

  • My parents enjoyed Jim Reeves and I enjoy him now..

  • This is the singer whose songs were lullabies for me, he was the favourite singer of my father, now my son appreciates his magnificent voice... Three generations are connected by Jim Reeves. He really is the best vocalist ever! Nobody after him showed up with such a great voice and will never be!

  • So many stars of today need gimmickery around their act to distract the audience from noticing they really don't have any talent. Here is a man that could just open his mouth and sing the phone book and people would be awed. One of the greatest of all time.

  • awesome Jim Reeves

  • i love jims songs... i didn't realise he died so young....even so he left us some fabulous music....rip jim

  • @chrisdavid4026 What a fantastic vocalist.Grew up with this music even though he died before I was born.No male voice has come close since

  • My Mom listened to Jim Reeves when I was growing up so I ended loving his music. What a sad day for all of us the day he died. They say the good die young and this seems to be case here. May you rest in peace Jim. We will never forget you or your music.

  • NICE SONG , I LOVE IT

  • I agrre. He was the best male vocalist.

  • My dad passed away 1 year ago and gentleman Jim was one of his all time favorite singers, he always seemed to play his records day in day out...... what a class act, you never know he he's probably playing his records even now upstairs somewhere R.I.P dad

  • Evokes memories of a long lost love.

  • Excellent !

  • The Best. Period.

  • timeless

  • @sudaann

  • His country musics nat king cole

  • I've never heard this live version before, it's terrific and puts some of todays singers in the shade. During his short time as a recording artist Reeves recorded this self peened track at least five times! Great stuff! 5*****'s

  • i like it

    Felt very nice

For me Jim was best know during Christmas Time

    thanks

  • What a wonderful singer . Timeless

  • Died in 64 airplane crash

  • what a beautifull voice and such a gentleman. love him.his singing got me through a lot of hardships

    thanks for sharing

    cheers

  • One of Country Music's true talents. Very natural voice with emotion in his songs. He is still missed after all these years.

  • great

  • My Grandmother always listened to Jim Reeves. On the night my grandmother went home to be with Jesus, I sat up most of the evening listening to Jim Reeves and thinking about my grandmother. Her and Jim are in Heaven and I'm sure he's singing to her.

  • I love musicians in general...but every now and again there seems to be someone sent down to earth with such a special gift...someone that reminds us now and again that their talent and gift is superhuman! ...a reminder of everything that is awesome about creation....Jim Reeves is one of those special people...

  • @100masks Surely my friend Jim is singing before Jesus in heaven right now and your grandma is gladly listening with all good souls! what a beautiful day is this!

  • love it!!!!!!

  • I just love this song.

  • So honest and direct. ALways brings a tear.

  • I like all the songs that Mr.Jim Reeves sings........

  • has this guy a Jamaican passport. This guy is like Bob marley there. No joke .

  • Love Jim Reeves!

    - From IRAN

  • Great romantic country singer, his music will live on,

  • Simply the best male vocalist ever.

  • @8626John AMEN John!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @8626John

Yep. Better than, dare I say, even Elvis!! There's a lot of great talent out there, or there was, anyway, but Jim Reeves is by far the best male vocalist EVER. I'm in love with Conway, but Jim had a better voice - hands down.

  • What a class-act. Jim Reeves didn't need fireworks, laser lights, or gimmicks to entertain an audience. He did it solely on talent. Wow! What a novel idea! Today's singers should look to the past for true examples of pure talent and style. What a loss when Jim died at age 40.

  • @TheLousyCafe1960 I didn't know he was only 40 when he died. I think that would make him ab out 86 today if he had lived .He died way to young but we still have his songs They say only the good die young

  • @TheLousyCafe1960

I've been listening to country music since I was old enough to hear and remember. God how I remember this LP. I fell in love with country then at that moment. Of all the music then and now, Jim Reeves is the best. He died five years before I was even born but I would litterally give my left testicle to hear him live, just once.

  • very sweet

  • his voice is sweet

  • this is country music not that stuff we have to listen to today.very good song

  • I like this song very much...

  • so sad really to loose a love one, uhm it hurts me a lot

  • @TheVineethllynne yeah me too not sure if i can take it much longer

  • My Grandads favorite...We played this at his funeral when we lost him at the ripe old age of 80. Miss and love you old man!

    Forever in my heart!!!

    R.I.P Donny Mack

  • Listen to..."Nickel Piece of Candy"...or "This is It"...The past and the future for this great singer!!

  • nice song... it's so perfect... very ralax..

  • Jim was so subtle - and just so perfect !!!

  • Jim Reeves always looks like a business man...

  • yes, dude - lol, that's the way singers in the "old" days use to dress :) hehehe

  • Jim Was a great gentleman. a legend since I was a kid I love him and he still is my number one guy. There will never be another one like him .God loved him too . I miss him .Eunice

  • I love this song ... THANK YOU! :)

  • My mum loved jim reeves =) brings back memories thanks Paul =)

  • jim reeves i know one is a big favorate of mine. have a listen.lucky..

  • elvis just moves and twinted his hands, and the woman got screaming and lusting over him , not humbled, did drugs .... jim reeves was humbled and sing gospel for the people as elvis but not in a way to show off or get woman to jump and lust at his feet and body.... anyways remembers of gospel music for the both and all other singers, johnny cash , hank willams etc....

  • his death in 64 the year after my birth, A sad day for the world. 44 years and still he reigns supreme. The loss of a legend, elvis was the king, but so was george the 5th, the king of music, we all know was jim reeves, a true gentleman, And a more modest ,humble man, an example to us all.

  • You are so right well put i agree 100% ..

  • yet again jim makes the rest look like buskers, no one better.

  • I was a mere kid when Jim tragically lost his life in that plane crash. But when I was old enough to appreciate music. Jim reeves became to me the role model of the "perfect" singer. A voice pure as honey and a personnality admired by all. There will never be another "Gentleman Jim," Thank God his legend is captured in music for all to enjoy.

  • there where a lot off lonely people who got comfort from his songs,,,,,,,,like my mother who died 4 years ago,,,,,,,,,thank you jim,,,,

  • Takes me fifty years back into my youth. What a wonderful time we had.!!

  • goosebumps with this voice!!!

  • God I miss this era, ....our nation was still discovering itself and it hurts to see where we are now

  • KING of smooth

  • Jim was just the best there ever was. Never been and never will be another voice that smooth.

  • Comment removed

  • Notice...no fancy camera angles, no fast camera swaps...no huge orchestra...no dancers in background....no nothing...just Jim and his voice.

  • Born in Sri lanka, in 70,S I grew up with country and western. My Mothers side was Anglo' so every weekend we visit relations or they come over. With lots of Pork Curry and Rice and some local whisky to go with it'll be Elvis or Jim Reeves. His songs take me back to places that I love to be in for ever. Thanks for the upload.

  • i grew up poor but mum made sure that there was always music. jim reeves consoled mum so many nights because her marriage did not work out. it still brings a tear to my eye 35 years later

  • I've been a fan of Jim Reeves since the 60's-I'm from Liverpool UK and even though I used to follow the Beatles I gave them up when I heard my first Jim reeves song-( Where do missing angels go) I was mesmerised by his voice and the beautiful steel guitar in the background- I guess this was my intro to country music- not a bad start! thanks for posting these great clips. J.

  • We use to listen to Jim Reeves on the Grand ol Opry on Saturday nights. Sunday nights, when we'd get home from church, we watch the Beatles on Ed Sullivan. I loved them both.

  • Jim's voice is just pure cool - soothing and relaxing. It's a little sad though. But as young as I am he is my favorite singer, always been since I heard him when I was 4 or 5. It's funy cause my friends don't even know him, their grandpas do though. They don't make singers like him anymore for sure.

  • Great song one of my favorites from this outstanding troubadour of country! Thank you for posting! Stop by and see some of the classics I have posted!

  • Fairly routine stuff by his standards.

  • During the 60's we used to live in Bangladash. There we used to listen to radio station from what used to be Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) "Radio Ceylon, the commercial service of Ceylon broadcasting corperation" And this sone in that radio station used to be one of my favourite!!

  • I am a Sri Lankan brought up on Radio Ceylon!

The DJ at that time who played a lot of Jim Reeves was Vijaya Corea.

My sisters and myself used to listen to Jim Reeves and try to copy the lyrics on to pieces of paper. ...just by listening! We had no TV or other visual aids those days!

  • Love Jim Reeves, used to sing it to my kiddos at bed time

  • Jim Reeves and George Morgan had the smoothest voices in country music at the time.

  • When I was a boy we used to drive from Zimbabwe to South Africa on holidays, my parents always played Jim Reeves. Amazing is all I can say. God bless you Jim. Now I am in Slovakia listening again to this music.
