The iPod is made in two factories in Suzhou and Longhua, China. The first plant, operated by the Taiwanese company Foxconn work and live according to the newspaper 200,000 workers (not just the I-pod is madehere). They sleep with one hundred people in a room and work 15 hours a day for $ 50 a month. Visitors are not welcome. The second plant will be $ 100 but for the half board and lodging.
It's time that the designers of products, the engineers, the thinkers, and the visionaries that make it happen rather than the businesspeople who exploit their genius in order to turn a quick buck and then take all the credit.
looks like an aids ravaged body. shrines, hero worship, mac sucks, all tech stolen. Yeah, to the asshole using an itablet while sitting on a public toliet, you are a brainwashed, asswipe, uglier than Mao se Dung
@zwiiyt Affordable? CraApple products are the most expensive. Plus, you can only use CrApple parts with them. I had to replace the battery after 12 months and MagSafe (safe?) power adapter after 18 months for my CrApple MacBook. Maybe the parts that come in the box are built to break down after 12-18 months.
CrApple the alternative to the evil Microshit? Fuck them both. They done pimped the people enough. I'll stick to Japanese brands. They guarantee the very best quality and reliability.
God bless the dead (all if them, not just Jobs), but what did he do outside of his field as a man? I don't understand all this R.I.P.ing on Facebook etc. Did the majority of R.I.P.ers know him?
@cjewelz He's done more for this world in "his field" then any politician, tv host, philanthropist, just by doing his job. If you actually use your brain, you'll realize people who innovate and spend their life making great products enrich the whole world with their work more so than a "good hearted" "well intended" individual ever would. Here's to all the entrepreneurs of the world. Don't stop dreaming.
@sonnybrown That's a very Simple Simon way of looking at things. I look at examples like Muhammad Ali. He is known more for what he's done outside boxing. He's not even considered the greatest boxer ever. That's because boxing was what he used as a platform to do even greater things. That's what makes him the greatest of all times. You Jobs dick suckers can keep sucking. And I never said anyone should stop dreaming so there was nothing for you to reinforce. In fact, I say it too.
I just love it when dudes give other dudes blowjobs...especially when they blow dead dudes.
"Visionary" my ass. Nearly anyone with his bank account could do the same & much more...more that would HELP humanity rather than just suck off of it to better your own fat self.
@TripleSpeak Wow. He started apple in his garage sparking the dawn of the personal computer. He later was fired from his own company and started Pixar. The first all computer animation movie studio. He came back to Apple and turned it into a goliath of product inovation. If anyone with money could do that, why don't we have more stories like this every day? We don't. We have great companies that follow his lead. What have you done to help humanity?
@Redfingers You realize Steve Wozniak's direct involvement with Apple products ended with the Apple II, right? You realize that Steve Jobs personally intervened and directed Apple products at the most microscopic levels, everything from even the diameter and shape of the most insignificant curves in product packaging.
Steve Wozniak was extremely important in the very early years of Apple's technical engineering, but it was Jobs who made Apple what it is today.
@Redfingers Steve Jobs wasn't a hardware or software engineer, however he personally led the design of the original Macintosh as well as every Apple product since 1998.
You can read detailed stories and anecdotes about Steve's personal intimate involvement with, and authoritarian management of the design of the design process at Apple at folklore.org which colleges them from Apple employees.
@Redfingers As I stated in the previous reply, Steve Jobs would set the user interface, behavioristic and industrial design goals of essentially every product at Apple. The software and hardware engineers were required to manifest his visions in reality. There are innumerable stories from Apple employees of Steve rejecting prototypes and demos for the sake of a few pixels, a curve or an angle that displeased him. His personal touch is in every Apple product today. He was a perfectionist.
@Redfingers Well if you stop your obsessive Steve-bashing for a few moments and just research a little bit into the history of Apple you'll find that his genius was his ability to push his teams to create products they wouldn't have otherwise been able to create.
I don't get what's so complicated about that, or why you're so intensely hostile about it.
@Redfingers No, a businessman would be someone like Leo Apotheker of HP, or Bill Gates of Microsoft. Steve Jobs was a businessman, yes, but also an artist.
@Redfingers Steve is famous (perhaps 'notorious') for being a micro-manager, something uncommon among CEOs of major corporations. He would go so far as to demand certain types of flooring in offices and paint on walls.
@Redfingers Here is one particular example that will give you a good idea of how Steve Jobs was obsessed with every product detail: folklore.org/StoryView.py?story=Round_Rects_Are_Everywhere.txt
Read it and you'll see why people are so sad by his death.
How about you give credit to Pixar for making the fucking incredible films they've made?
All Steve Jobs did was -purchase- Pixar in '86 and invest money into the company.
Again, all he is is a businessman. You want to know what's more impressive than throwing money at a good product? MAKING A GOOD FUCKING PRODUCT. GIVE THE CREDIT TO PIXAR YOU ASSHOLE. Stop giving credit to the bloodsucking urchins who get by by TAKING credit for all the limited genius this world has to offer.
@sonnybrown I've done far more than this greedy nitwit could ever have dreamed of, but that's only because people like him only dream of making money & not helping humanity. Now I guess you can idolize his progeny & the wife who's 15 yrs. younger than him (of course) & who will pay nearly nothing in inheritance tax, but will live on easy street just like daddy-o. the world wouldn't be in the state its in if so many didn't glorify the likes of this egomaniac.
I'm proud to say that I've never owned anything made by Chinesejobs company, Rotten Rip-Off Apple. I can't believe how many young people own gizmos from these corporatist assholes. Why stand out on Wall St. w/your iphones? Boycotting some of these asswipes is in order, but most Americans couldn't even give up one of their unnecessary gizmos. They may be forced to give it up soon...although the gov't will provide it free just to keep these zombies sleep-walking.
Just another example of people hanging off the nuts of business icons/marketing people instead of the real geniuses, the engineers who are the brains behind the operation and the real creative talent.
Although he dropped out after only one semester, he continued auditing classes at Reed, while sleeping on the floor in friends' rooms, returning Coke bottles for food money, and getting weekly free meals at the local Hare Krishna temple. Jobs later said, "If I had never dropped in on that single calligraphy course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts."
Much to the amazement of Atari, Wozniak reduced the number of chips by 50, a design so tight that it was impossible to reproduce on an assembly line. According to Wozniak, Jobs told Wozniak that Atari gave them only $700 (instead of the offered $5,000) and that Wozniak's share was thus $350
@TheOkham Amen. I'll add that he didn't give a crap about "his" country & sent as many jobs as possible elsewhere, all to fatten his already bloated wallet. I also love how the US taxpayers pay for innovations in technology (including the internet & the PC), "our" gov't then hands it over for free to corporations so they can charge us again, & not even keep the jobs in this country. Jobs real name is Chinesejobs.
Jobs returned to Atari and was given the task of creating a circuit board for the game Breakout. According to Atari co-founder Nolan Bushnell, Atari offered $100 for each chip that was eliminated in the machine. Jobs had little interest in or knowledge of circuit board design and made a deal with Wozniak to split the bonus evenly between them if Wozniak could minimize the number of chips.
@Redfingers why steve jobs was a genius, and innovator. he came up with the idea of a computer mouse, he programmed the first apple computers and wrote the code for it's operating system.
