The 9th Doctor (Eccleston) was obviously absolutely unashamedly head over heels in love with Rose and that is probably one of the biggest reasons once Tennant became the Doctor there was so much chemistry with Rose and the Doctor.
I love the ninth doctor but considering the choice of song I think I'd liketo taslk a little about the Doctor and love. Basically since he's always been away from gallifrey, so the only companion he could have really gone with was Romana but by his 8th incarnation he got deperate and when regebneration led him to kiss grace I think he became tempted by the possibility of love with a human
I always loved that kiss between 9 and Rose! it just burned as much as the Time Vortex in her head! lol! it burned me anway-I wanted Eccleston right then! lol! Rose and nine had a relationship that was so deep but subtle it was heartwrenching!
-I had to pick another stupid ape!-that line from father's day was hilarious and deeply profound as if the Doctor did not pick the girls but fate did as if it knew he was goin to need them
The kiss at the end is like when the doctor kisses Martha in her first episode, esesialy the looks he has on his face after, it's the exact same look lol
I believe the 8th doctor was only shown in a movie so... And yes i think the 9th doc gets overlooked too! I really like Christopher. Its just that David has been on for longer...
Yep, it was definanlty Christophers job to get us all interested in the show again, or for those of us who hadnt seen it before get us hooked :P (like me!) but his love for Rose was subtle and it was the only time it was mentioned as him loving her when the Dalek says "What use are emotions when you cant save the women u love
or in the siltheen at number 10 where he says i could safe the world but lose you his hand was wierd when he held it out to her though and then David did it in the christmas special and she said it still freaked her out that was funny
Yes he was just in a movie and he was never shown to regenerate. Christopher Ecclesone could have really done with doing another series but at teh same time had he done that we would never have been blessed with David Tennants awesome 10th Doctor.

yeah me too, martha was really irritating. series four was good because there wasn't the love interest with catherine tate, and the only love story that was in it was with rose right at the end. AND ROSE AND THE DOCTOR SHOULD BE THE ONLY ROMANCE IN DOCTOR WHO
Martha the character was ok, she needed a storyline that wasn't related to Roses' and she would have been pretty good. Its the fact she was the same as rose in that she loved him, and had similar family situations (as in rose and martha both have a bit of a disfunctional family) And yes i agree Rose/Doctor romance only!
Don't forget about the woman Donna and the Doctor met in the library. There was obviously something there even if we don't get to see it again in this series. The Doctor is very old and Rose was not his first true love and might not be his last.

Anyway, I'm watching the newer ones in order and I actually really like Eccleson. A lot! Although I did love what I saw of David Tennant. But I never heard about Eccleson... just how great Tennant was.
