For a team that's OVER 7 FULL SEASONS under .500 (over the course of 125 seasons - with an overall record of 8810-10000 as of July 15, 2007), will we see playoffs any time soon??

I was wrong! The Fightin' Phils did see playoffs this year, but because the Mutts collapsed!
However, the Phillies were steamrollered by the red-hot Rockies, who have swept their way into the World Series.
Go Phils in 2008!

@ClassicRocker61 - Oh, yeah, it's been one Hell of a ride, with 4 consecutive NL East titles, including the season where I first posted after an improbable catch of the Mets in 2007 - also a World Series win, 2 pennants and a near-miss of a third pennant.
Unfortunately, Jayson Werth just signed with the Nationals in December 2010 and we lost Harry Kalas in April 2009. I may be stuck in the Hershey area now (I lived in Bucks County when I made the original post), but still bleed Phillies red!

@ClassicRocker61 - Thinking back, this reminds me of when the Phils put up a ban on smoking in the seats at the Vet after their last-place finish in 1992. I attended Fan Appreciation Day in September 1992, the last game where you could openly smoke in your seat.
I called the Phils that winter right after they put in the ban and said, "I could understand if you had a winning team!" Look at what happened in 1993! ;-)
