@zyfler Hi! The phone is still relatively new, but a quick Google search yielded quite a few generic-brand extended life batteries for the 9900. Keep in mind though, that these batteries are physically larger and a separate battery plate is included which will make your phone thicker. A good brand to consider is Seidio. They are planning on releasing an extended battery for the 9900/9930 very soon. Cheers!
@zyfler you could also get one of those portable chargers, basically an external battery so if it runs low you just plug it in, that's what I do and I have only had to do it once :]
@deefeefe With interruptions, yes haha. Then another 1.5 hours in post-production and 2 hours to render. Then there's the 5 hours to upload to YouTube...yeah, talk about a time killer eh? :D
@Kruidberg Hi! No, you cannot downgrade the OS on the 9900 to OS5, mainly because the base OS it comes with is OS7. Older devices, like the 9700 and 9780, came with OS5 initially and incremental updates brought them up to OS6.
@JasnoGT Hi! It would have made a difference, albeit not a large one. Thanks to Blackberry pushing OS6 to older devices, they became more inefficient. Still, side-by-side, there is a noticeable difference in performance, particularly when loading large websites.
@asdsgsrgsrhg Hi! What's good to keep in mind is that OS6 was initially launched on the BlackBerry Torch 1. As such, the software has many features of a touch-screen device, even when the 9300/9700/9780 do not have such an interface. I personally find it annoying...that, and OS6 should never have been pushed to the 2-year old 9700. The hardware is just too old. In short, yes, there have been some issues, especially with the camera. Stick with OS5 or upgrade the phone! :)
this is not a fair review.... 9700 was not built for os6... and the version you can put on the 9700 is patchy... hence the problems... 9900 rules tho... way ahead of the game...... as was the 9700 when it first hit the shops
Good Question. I have the Bold 9700 as well. And I realy ask myself if it's worth the money to buy the 9900. Of course the Browser and speed are far better on the 9900. But yet it's not that serious technological advance we have seen in other years. It's more likt you buy a new car, same Model just with more horsepower and nicer rims.
@bskota2 Heh, I talk quickly so I can try to squeeze in as much information that I can, since I can only upload a maximum of 15 minutes of video. Despite this, I still had to make a 2-part video for this comparison. Thanks for writing!

did you know that:
If you take a picture of a 9900 with a 9700, and 9900 taking a picture of the 9700, at the SAME TIME
send it to an iphone 4s with bluetooth.
a message comes up saying: blackberry is best

I love my 9780! Do you think it would have made a difference on speed if you used a 9780 instead of 9700?

He's a phone reviewer. He and many other reviewers get most of them loaned to them by companies (although he may own these.)
The more interesting question to ask is...... why dont you know this?
