  • Elliot Easton has the magic hands!

  • This is so f*cking awesome, if this is a demo just imagine how satisfying the finished song would of been. I think it would of fitted either on Panorama or The Cars (album), probably Panorama since that album had a bit more of there darker stuff, as reviewers put it....great jeff beck style bend stuff in the solo, most people dont even know The Cars were capable of making something this hard rocking.

  • That DVD is a personal fave.

This song IS available on Elektra's Deluxe Edition CD of their debut album

  • Good lord, I need to lie down after I watch this one... Elliot is just making love to that Les Paul of his... what a legend. Not to mention Benjamin's driving bass... the whole band are on fire. Just on fire.

  • I like this song & I like that Greg is playing guitar in this one. Him and Elliot look like they are just having fun like playing in a garage band.

    Great clip.

  • Oh, frig...I need a cigarette...that was so satisfying.

  • @101catsville

It is. The song certainly embraces and is hard rock-oriented, being a 6 minute song and having a long awesome ass solo, it's definetly not one of there cheap pop songs.

  • This is one of the best Cars songs ever. kind of glad it never appeared on anything--leaves a secret nugget for the diehards. have loved them since the beginning and no one can ever take them away. ROCK ON, GUYS! amazing they are doing it without ben. there is definitely a big hole in the band...miss him.

  • This song is f**king amazing! It shows Elliot at his best, and the band at their finest. This is probably the greatest Cars song of all times and should be played on the radio. Why the hell isn't isn't???? So glad to see The Cars back, I'll take whatever they offer.

  • This is f*cking awesome!!!! :D

  • If this proves ANYTHING, it shows that the Cars could and did lay down a great basic jam and rock with the best of them!

  • Elliot...what more can be said!?! AMAZING...and by far, the best. The absolute BEST! And Ben, ohhhh the leather, lips and the kick. This performance and song truly emulates just how talented, influential and embodies the sound that does make this an 'awesome jam session!' Critics alike should embrace the call of action for them to be inducted to the RRHOF!!!

  • Bend it like Easton.

  • As a Benjamin Orr fanatic I love this one even though Ric does the lead vocals. Ben's bassline is wicked good here.

  • why was this not on a record????????

  • Ive always enjoyed this song

  • this is bad ass! the cars' stage presence rocks

  • As has already been mentioned in the comments, this song was on the Deluxe version of the debut album that was released in 1999. I still need to get that. I first heard this song on something called Supergroups in Concert, if I recall the name correctly. A friend's dad worked at a radio station, and had brought home this slightly warped LP of a Candy-O era concert, and this song was on it.

  • take what I want? I'll take Benjamin :) ♥

  • HOT HOT HOT the Cars in all their glory! Elliot blows me away every time. And Ben kicking up his heel and announcing the next song is too sexy for words. Thanks for posting this.♥

  • To each his own, baby. Take what you want, leave what you don't.

  • Elliot is not making love to the guitar...that must be in your mind. Benjamin is the sexiest one. I LOVE everything about him too. He had such presence on stage. An eye catcher, an ear catcher, and a heart catcher.

  • The way Easton makes love to that guitar. He is the sexxxy one.

  • Benjamin is soooooo YUMMY!!! LOVE the kick at 1:38. I think he woke up Elliot ....LOL!!! I don't think they were used to Greg moving around on stage either....hehe. I'm surprised I even noticed anything other than Benjamin on stage.....OMG, he's soooooo SEXY!!!! Love his stance and the way he hitches his equipment (of course I mean his bass guitar...hehe.) up at 2:42. I just LOVE EVERYTHING about him!

  • @stargazer477 Even the way he turns the mic off at 2:40. When I first saw this I thought he had thrown his pick out to the crowd just before that. lol

  • @LuckyDeb61 You know what? I think he did toss the pick and then grab a new one from someplace on the mic!

  • Best CARS song ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Benjamin - yummy

  • It has been almost 30 years since I had seen this video. I remember seeing this concert on "Night Flight". I recorded it and listened to it over and over. Great solo!

  • This video is excellent. I have this DVD and mine sure doesn't look this good!

  • btw they were all hung over for this show per the interview on the dvd. i love this song. look how they are all focused on their job during the video.
