  • In my opinion; Boris Karloff was the best Frankenstein monster followed closely by Bela Lugosi who played the monster in Frankenstein meets the Werewolf.

  • So Karloff was the originator of the "Moonnwalk"

    Who knew? ^^

  • OMG ITS BORIS KARLOFF OH WOW OH WOW

  • Where'd you get that face HOLLYWOOD ?

  • my grandfather told me when this scene came on most people let out a scream ..some ran out of the theater..remember, no one had seen anything like this back in 1931..

  • 0:19 aways wanted a poster of that

  • Why does he walk backwards into the room?

  • @Leatherbubba to give the impression that this is a newly-born creature, disoriented, not used to the world and how to go about.

  • There could never be a better Frankenstein monster than Boris Karloff...

  • @rockndude87 Fred Gwynn?

  • Japanese? What the fuck are you dumb shits talking about? Look at the peace os atristry as it is...you stupid fuckers are talking about something that shouldn't even be considered to Karloff's genius!

  • @big9nic I gave your remark thumbs up but karloff was a gentleman and would never like that kind of language.

  • It would be awesome to see these universal classics in colour. The clips posted are amazing

  • The brain that was stolen was from a criminal named "Abby Normal"

  • @JENDALL714

Heh... *twitch*... Are you saying... that I put an abnormal brain... into a seven and a half foot long... fifty-four inch wide... GORILLA?!?! IS THAT WHAT YOU'RE TELLING ME?!?! *throttles*

  • my guess it twofold...

    1. to make him look more spooky

    2. to make him look more like one of the unliving or undead. remember, he was a 'monster' made out of huge parts had were picked by the mad doctor to make a superhuman with a normal brain.

unbeknownst to the doctor, the brain of a criminal had been substitued for the normal' brain from the medical school from where it was stolen by igor, his assistant. so the monster was criminally minded non of his doing. poor thing.

  • @dale1966gto the Japanese reboot is more complicated in that movie the original Frankenstein monster died in the burning windmill but its heart survive and was taken by a scientist to Germany to be studied and in 1945 during the World War II the German soldiers take the heart to Japan and studied by Japanese scientists in Hiroshima and after that the Americans drop a bomb in Hiroshima which kill the Japanese scientists but the heart survives and was mutated and the heart regenerate a new body.

  • @dale1966gto and after that the monster regenerated into a child size monster and eats protein foods and after eating many protein foods the monster transform into a giant humanoid monster and battles a resurrected fire breathing dinosaur and after winning he battles a giant octopus but the monster was killed by the giant octopus and in the sequel his remain flesh in the forest regenerated into a child size brown ape like monster which later grows into a giant ape like brown monster.

  • @dale1966gto and also the Frankenstein monster was kill by the giant octopus in the sea where his remain flesh in the sea regenerated and quickly grows into a giant green ape like monster and defeated the giant octopus and attack a ship, killing many crews and after going to Japan the military almost kill it but the brown monster shows up and protect the green monster but the brown monster sees that the green monster eats people so they fight and they die in an underwater volcano.

  • @dale1966gto the Japanese reboot of this movie is Frankenstein conquers the world and its sequel is War of the gargantuas.

  • remember, he was dead and brought back to life. this adds realism to the fact that he may still be trying to focus or in some way adjust to light after being brought back to life. in any event, the effect was creeepy,

  • @dale1966gto

Frankenstein's monster was never dead. He was made from the parts of dead people stitched together by the mad scientist. So prior to this he did not really exist.

The movie points this out, as does the original novel.

Frankenstein is a terrible parent. After bringing his creature to life, he leaves him in a room all alone (presumably) and ignores him until this scene. Some proud parent, huh?

  • @LinzyRulzNorthNowra why is the sky blue, the trees green? Because they are, ok? :)

  • @BamBamMcSlam yeah umm...fuck you? yeah? :)

  • @LinzyRulzNorthNowra OMG what a comeback! Does "fuck you" pass for a witty retort in Australia, penal colony of drunken morons?

  • @BamBamMcSlam lets put another shrimp on the barby

  • @whieoehfeo You know, there's a really good chance that they have a copy at your local library. People don't always think of movies when they think of the library, but it's a great tax-supported resource for under-funded cinema fans.

  • @AdamYJ

That might be true. Not many had seen the earlier version of Frankenstein, and even if they had, the monster in that one looked nothing like Karloff.

  • usually they can be located in the classic or classic horrow section of any dvd rental outlet.

since it's a ''keeper'', you may want to purchase it for around 10-12 bucks. it is a must for any consessieur's video library.

  • ok thanks
