I find it so irresistibly delicious when he says "Every night my teeth are falling out!" Makes my stomach drop and my brain squeeze. That line.... I heard it and bought this album. That was all it took.
okay, so the one part where he sort of mumbles and repeats himself sounds like a song the one guy off Simon and Garfunkel who's still alive did fairly recently.
^ Not to hate, just in case someone knows what im talking about and wants to tell me
@nutmed They definitely sound like the XX. The haunting basslines, the hypnotic guitar licks, the subtle changes in momentum... I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out.
Don't get me wrong, I adore The Antlers. Their lyrics are poetry to me and I fall asleep to Peter Silberman's voice but this song isn't brilliant and the sound isn't even near unique. It sounds like Silberman singing in an Andrew Bird song with Santana backing it. Once again, great lyrics but I have to say that The Antlers let me down a little with this one.
@pasttheatmosphere I completely agree with you! Haha I had just commented on another video of a song from this album basically saying the same thing. The Antlers are beautiful and Peter has such a raw and unique voice but it seems to be a bit covered up in this album. I'm a bit disappointed and I'm hoping that their next album will be a wondrous piece of art, and will give me the same intense feelings that the last ones did.
This album was a grower for me, after Hospice I didn't think I'd ever come round to it as it's such a different experience. This was the song that did it for me, then I Don't Want Love <3 THE ANTLERS ARE AWESOME!
@Jessebear998 Clearly you don't posses the mental capacity to comprehend shit when you hear it, instead you attempt to accuse people of trolling when they merely speak the truth
@trollthetrollable yah, i accept cash or checks. or you can just mail a plaque. have it read "world's #1 idiot finder" on it. cuz i just found the cream o the crop.

i don't know why i remember it to be faster. with that beat, they should definitely play it up-tempo live...

Peter Silberman's voice reminds me of Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blonde.
