the outer case is connected to the batteries, then connected to the outer shell of the lazing unit, scratching the crap off, just makes it work like it should, so if they shipped a 5mw and it went into stock for a long time , it will be less, cleaning it up, just takes it back to a 5mw.

@maximilli111 reds can be easily moddified. The problem is that the smaller lasers generally do not have a pot as there is no need if the laser diode is SOO small. The greenies normally come with pots if they are 5mw+. Reds will burn better but green's you do not need to focus. I proabably prefer greens. They look so nice!
