@ApsoluteSkiils how did you come up with that? I've seen Craig play a few times, don't get me wrong he is an exceptional player, but ranking him 6th best drummer in the world? What about Marco Minnemann, thomas Lang, Vinnie Colaiuta, Mike Portnoy, Neil Peart, Jo Jo Mayer, Mike Mangini, Stevie Gadd, Terry Bozzio, Dave Weckl, Carter Beauford, Tony Royster Jr, Gregg Bissonette to name but a few of the worlds best drummers, where do they come then? 6th worst comment I've read on youtube.
ive seen craig perform at many drum clinics over the years and found him to be one of the most self effacing, down to earth guys out there not to mention talented, helpful and enthusiastic in helping others learn. i would suggest that what he has learned from others he has now built upon and taken forward into his own style and music and is happy to put this across and let everyone into the secrets that have made it work for him.....a lot of other guys would keep it under their hat!
i had the pleasure of meeting Craig a few weeks ago at one of his drum clinics, not only is he the greatest drummer ive been lucky enough to see live, but probobly the most down to earth and kind guy you could ever wish to meet, his clinic itself was really really informative, his interaction with everyone was second to none, more than happy to answer any question, think Craig is one of the few great inspirational drummers that are out there playing and enjoying every moment
@TheBadAndGnarly hes not up his arse at all dude hes a really sound guy. Hes also my brothers drum tutor aha, they're both stupid when they jam together!
he is a really sound guy, but when he did a clinic at my college all he did was advertise himself and play his own songs rather than really show us anything else, which is a being a bit up yourself because your basically saying im this good wanna listen to my stuff and explain about how great i am
I've seen him play loads and I've never met a more down to earth and modest musician in my life. His own material sounds great. He's so respected in the drumming community I find it hard to believe that anyone would think he is anything but someone who genuinely loves what he does.
He came round to my uni today to give a demo on the td9 kits and some new sample pads, he's mind-blowing with his independance exercise, using his feet and hands in 2 different time signatures
This guy never fails to deliver, such a world class player. Seen him a few times now and everytime, it gets better and better. Just a ridiculous talent and he's english !!
He uses Paiste Signature 10" Micro Hats as his main pair, and custom made Paiste Signature 8" hats on a closed-hat holder. The 10" are a standard Paiste model.
I too have seen and met Craig a number of times and have always been hugely impressed with his drumming and with Craig as a person. What a decent chap and phenomenal drummer.
as Rathmore73 quite rightly says, Craig Blundell is setting the standards....the best in Britain ....world domination to follow.
I've seen him 5-6 times now in the flesh. He is setting the standard for UK drumming now in my opinion. Its rare to get a player who is so full of groove with savage chops who is actually a lovely guy to talk to too !! I've always had the impression that he's very humbled to be where he is and can't quite believe it !! He took time out to chat to my little son at Music live this year and signed a pair of his own sticks for him, nice to finally see video of him on here.
