Actually, it was written by Antoine de Saint Exupery for his wife. He didn't have any children. The rose was his wife, Consuelo, and the Little Prince was himself.

Le Petit Prince is a beautiful tale and I was heavily inspired by it for my most recent production but I thought the movie murdered the entire purpose of the story. It is a picture book and that is what it was meant to be = inspiring people who read to believe in their own power to imagine and dream. But, making a movie that basically steals every image from the book - practically killing - is criminal!!! What do you say?
