simonj007....you are going to have to learn by playing by ear or purchasing Dr. John's New Orleans piano lessons. You do not learn New Orleans piano by playing it off of sheet music, FYI. :)
people on youtube don't understand that the older cats in new orleans played like this and more importantly held a running conversation with you at the same time. that's virtuosity.
very nice your version of Tipitina. I've got your CD (forgot the title) with this flowerish piano on the cover from our common friend Reinhold Wagnleitner, Salzburg. He and me were, and still are, very good friends since we started school together in 1955. Unfortunately you could not accompany Reini, when he held his speech here, 2 1/2 years ago. Is there a single lead sheet of tipitina (original version) available? I found it only in books. All the best, Hans.
Tom you are the shit!!!!!! That piano sounds gorgeous, and you are a gifted player!!!

Very well played. Quite an original interpretation as well!

It's straying off into the fringes of bebop or something, and is not the rockingly classic Tipitina i love, but it is sorta weird and deconstructed.
