I have HP mini 311 and the specs are the same as far as I know and I run 1080 off Youtube flawlessly. Mine had a default of like 67 programs running on startup!

@juandsi I don't think a 15GB HDD would be enough for regular Windows 7, but you'd have no problem installing Tiny7 on there.

I found out that if you already have an operating system installed, and want to install Windows 7 to another partition, boot into your operating system, extract the setup file to your current partition, run it, and you'll be on your way. No need to burn a DVD or mess with a USB flash drive :)

If it is Windows 7 starter edition you can not change the theme nor wallpaper etc.

I have a 1033cl hp mini... im thinking about installing the windows 7 RC but i heard that everything works EXCEPT the internal microphone. Can you test the INTERNAL MICROPHONE out to see if it works? i looked everywhere and found no official drivers, just a temporary driver that somewhat works.

No, it's not running. It's running the basic theme, not Aero.

Some people don't bother enabling Aero after installing their video drivers, which is why a lot of these videos show the basic theme :(

its slower on the hp mini then it is on the aspire one netbook......... you can multi task like crazt on the aspire one with only 1gb or ram.

the scroll needs a software called synaptics to work, the pop sound comming from the speakers mentioned in this video is resolved with an updated idt hd audio driver. the only thing i`m not sure is what is the sound comming from under the right side of the keyboard, that in my case used to be in the same time when the pop sound used to came. it`s the only issue in this netbook (mine is vivienne tam mini 1140nr)

the initial compatibility is what got everyone upset(which is cos they change the driver setup from the old to the new), and the fact that they would have to upgrade for the new OS.

alot of people had just bought their first computer on XP, and didn't know that they'd need to upgrade. but i had to upgrade my pc for win98 to XP. It's normal.

Except this time, most people have a computer now, and this time, windows 7 will make your computer go faster than it did on vista.

There is Aero on the Mini 1000.... I've yet to make a video of my setup. But on mine Win7 boots to desktop at 45s and Aero is supported. 100% of hardware works including bluetooth.

People,Please stop asking questions which tend towards comparing the netbook line with laptops. Its like this, If you had to prune a banzai tree, would you use a tractor (desktop), a lawn mower(laptop) or a pair of scissors(Netbook), then, will you ask if the scissors can be used to trim the lawn? windows 7 Release clients are available for download all over the net. 1000 is the designation for the overall model roadmap, 1035 is the designation for an actual resale model. (i.e. 1000 = all the computers of the 1000 roadmap (1035, 1045, etc).

Thanks for the video man! Can you run sketchup on the hp mini with 2 gigs? I have 1 gig and have trouble running it with a decent size 3d model (2mb or more). Also, if it doesn't do well in win. 7 would it do better in xp?

Dual boot it. You can resize your current partition by right clicking over computer and selecting "manage" then selecting disk management without destroying data. Look for how to "dual boot vista and Windows 7" on youtube

I wouldn't recommend putting it on your main machine. That's just the way I think and work. It's up to you. If you're happy with Vista, stay with it.

dude the clicking sound you are complaining about in your video. i had the same problem. you can fix it by muting the inputs such as mic in, line in, in control panel->sound.
