  • We are watching this movie in my biology class. Honestly..it disturbs me..but it's sad..

  • Wooooww. Who would dislike this movie!?!?!?!? -.- What if you had ALD???? How would you feel then assholes?!?!?

  • @blueking987 stop trolling...lol, i am SO FOR YOU DONT GET ME WRONG but calm yo tits. lol

  • that boy was posessed by demons

  • Is that child actually sick or is that kid acting...?

  • @Davrainbow i think they may have just added sound effects from a professional vocalist while the boy just shook >.> my guess

  • I love Nick Nolte. What a great actor.

  • 6:28 - :30 Serves him right.

  • This is the sadest movie i have ever watched. i can understand what the parents are trying to do for their son. i have a friend who have four children. three of them have this ALD Disease. he and his wife never tired to look for opinions and cure for their children. but as the children grow the worst it gets. i hope them and their children and anyone who has that kind disease a quick revovery.

  • You know Lorenzo's oil is a real medicine. Lorenzo himself lived to be I think 26 or something.

  • @itsanthonyhere He died the day after his 30th birthday in 2008. And Michaela died of lung cancer eight years earlier.

  • what happens in parts 6 and 7?

  • when your a fucking parent, you stick with your kids for life. You don't fucking give up on them. Most parents haven't even got the fucking maturity to take care of their kids, that's why there are so many orphans, criminals, thugs, drop outs and what not. Nobody has the right to tell you that you need to give up on your kid, because they are going to be wrong.

  • Parts 6 and 7?

  • If I were the parent, I would've just killed that kid.

  • @jice12 If you're talking 'bout Lorenzo, you're 'yellow.'

  • That boy is one damn good actor

  • Augosto- "You know she's right! You have gone absouletly mad. Yes Yes you have gone crazy in the head, I love our boy to of course... but the fact that you have started to give up your friends or family or husband you are clearly going mad" that what Augosto was saying

  • They should have let him go. Listen to him, for God's sakes. Listen to him...

  • "lorenzo, if this is too much for you my sweetheart, well then you fly. you fly as fast as you can to baby jesus" this part brought me to tears :'(

  • and what kind of pain does he feel? Where does it hurt? My god.

  • hahahahaha! I LOVE it, lo AMO, when Nolte gets pissed and begins to rant in Italian like that.

However, fucking hell how much can a parent take with all that wailing and screeching and twitching and sweating and shit? Holy hell, just look at the sweat poor from all three of them. O_O

  • smh u really couldnt put 6 7 and 11 up u get a thumbs down just for that

  • Der arme Lorenzo! Ich glaube, er weiß, dass er die Krankheit (ALD) hat! Armer Lorenzo!

  • omg i am watching this for my class and this is a very eye opening movie about this condition, i was just so upset at the parents for allowing him to be in so much pain for so long ... it just brings you to tears watching him seize, i could never watch my child suffer in so much pain

  • no translations? when I watched this in genetics there were translations.

  • Probaly a dumb question, can any tell me where parts 6&7 are?

  • this is fucked this is not living the kids in agony non stop

  • Oh my god :( This scared me so much! I don't even have to watch this for a class! I just heard it was lke a classic! I'm not sure to keep watching or stop, to hit like or dislike! I'm practically crying!

  • @RightfullyReticent dude.. it was just an example.. lorenzo died already.. hopefully he died happy.. or i dont know... can we drop this now?

  • @RightfullyReticent im going off topic.. you know abortion.. it's illegal.. so.. if a woman is raped and pregnant.. she has the right.. to abort.. its her body isnt it? and about lorenzo.. that disease doesnt have a cure ( as far as i remember) and at those times it didnt exist a cure.. so the only option would be end his pain ( maybe) who wants to live a life suffering? unless hes masochist.. which i highly doubt

  • Hard to belive this director made the Max max movies

  • what happened to parts 6 and 7?

  • @arfoon71 I was right in the middle of part 6 and youtube just removed it =/

  • @arfoon71 yea

  • what happened to parts 6 and 7?

  • I don't know if there is a God i wonder why it would create such a sickness that effects young boys and make them suffer horribly, then again if it there isn't a God i wonder how these parents could go on and still fight like this.

  • @Kellox17

Ah the good old "Why would god do such a thing". This is why there are people called "Atheists"

  • @PrinnyEnforcer

DUDE you didn't get the statement at all did you? :/ read IT again/

  • @Kellox17

I know what it meant, i mean the way you think like that is why we have Atheists. "I dont know if there is a god, i wonder why it would create such a sickness"

  • "If you need to go, you fly to baby Jesus as fast as you can."

    That line makes me cry.

  • HAHA BOYS!!!! GIRLS CAN'T GET THIS DISEASE!!!!! WE JUST PASS IT DOWN TO U!!!!! (No hate comments please n_n)

  • @amandarocio14 stupid cow...you deserve to have a boy and see your kid suffering and die because of you...of course I won't ever wish to anybody this...I just hope you feel ashame. waste of pathetic space.

  • @amandarocio14 'Buuuuuut

HAHA THERES A DISEASE VERY SIMILAR TO THIS THAT BOTH GENDERS CAN CONTRACT SO HERP DERP :P

  • nick nolte's italian sucks.

  • yes please post 6 and 7!!

  • my brother had some kind of disease like this, but he was born with it. he couldn't walk or talk his whole life. he passed away last year in november at the age of 13

  • At 8:00 it gets very difficult to watch

  • wow @ 8:00

  • no part 6 and 7?

     :-(

  • @Amor4uxoxo yeah, and no where to be found on youtube???

  • @Amor4uxoxo OH OK, you want all parts removed off youtubE? (: kay

  • OMFG CANT THEY SEE HIS SUFFERING? mom says lorenzo has the right to live, yea but he doesnt have the right the live a life suffering

  • Amen! Exactly what I was thinking as I watch this scene and listen to his cries and screams.

  • @sh4ase yea true but nobody has the right to take away someones , maybe even though he was in pain , maybe he still wanted to live , i was very sick as a child and even though the pain was bad all i wanted to was live..........now i not saying lorenzo felt the same way but ...... he might have but nobody knows for sure . -shrugs-

  • @sh4ase

Is not suffering subjective? Can we truly see what lorenzo is feeling at the moment? How much has lorenzo's brain disappeared? How much brain cells/myelin do we need to be human? A prisoner of war might be tortured and experience tremendous suffering with no signs of future help; does he give up because he is suffering? Grasping for hope is like wading through a vast infinite ocean of disassociated knowledge. Whether or not one should swim or not is not as clear cut as one hopes.

  • @Tinhh oh cmon this was 7 months ago... and well.. what is lorenzo feeling at the moment?.. i dont know... maybe pain.. hes having seizures ( i dont know if those are seizures i dont remember) and u can clearly see that his brain has disappeared enough for him not to be able to talk.. and walk.. and do anything.. no one really knows if he wants to live or not and i didnt said he wasnt human.. he is.. in fact a human... he can breath, think, feel, etc. making him a living thing...

  • @sh4ase THANK YOU!!!!! Here I am thinking I'm the only one that has animosity towards this movie.

  • @sh4ase

he gets to chose. People can easily say shit when they aren't directly related. Most people would rather live then die.

  • @sh4ase So they should just give up? Is 'that' it? Well 'no.'

  • @027220 dude... this was 1 YEAR AGO i dont even remember this movie anymore so stfu im sick of ppl answering back to a 1 year old comment

  • @sh4ase I see something I feel needs questioning I'll question it.

  • @sh4ase I completely agree. I've been on the brink of death, and though my story is dramatic, it's not as dramatic as his. I was very, very ill, but I fought to live. I remember I wanted to survive, but towards the end I prayed for death. You just get to that point. For everyone that point is different. I feel so bad for this kid. I would have let him go long ago, for his sake.

  • his daddy was a TRULY amazing man and fought for his son NO MATTER WHAT

  • They should have given AUGUSTO ODONE the NOBEL prize.....

  • 8:36 to 8:57 :-(

  • The kid who played lorenzo's a really really good actor. O_O

  • 6:29 PWND!!

    "CONVERSATION OVER"

  • I would rather die than go through that pain.

  • ur an asshole, fuck you this is serious shit and you joke? wow

  • Hard to take this serious when Nick Nolte sounds like super mario.

The kid actor is top notch

  • No joke?

  • dude stop joking about you having ald, go die and die slowly stupid Longhorn959 i hope you burn in hell you are an insult to lorenzo's memory

  • I have a five year old nephew and his mother (my sister) said that if he was in that state she would only end it if that is what Andre wanted. I would do the same, no child deserves to suffer like that.

  • well how would you know whether he wanted to live or not? now that the oil is around and has prolly been improved on, i would keep my kid alive; i would never kill a kid if there was ever a hope of them getting help

  • he lived until he was like 30 something and regained some of his sences.

  • Comment removed

  • no one should ever decide if someone else should live or not. It is no one's choice. Even if the person is suffering that is life. God decides when it is their time to go.

  • I think is everyone's own desire to let go or keep fighting for our lives

  • That is what you believe, but if I am in the state that Lorenzo is I want to be with God right away. No one deserves to suffer when death can ease their pain a lot better then awaiting for an unfound cure.

  • Has it ever occur to you that God wants his children's suffering to end and bring them home with him? Has it ever occur to you that when the doctors have nothing else to offer then it is time to hand the ones suffering over to God?

  • haven't you learned anything?

"It's not too late...it's never too late"

  • yeah some other people with no faith or are just asses about people to stop suffering and just die, i bet if they had their oown child with a rare disease they would do the imposible to save their child

  • Why would God give a boy at the age of 5 something like ALD in the first place if he's just going to take him away from the world at such a young age? It's pointless if you ask me. Some things are worth fighting for. And if anything is worth fighting for, it's LIFE and LOVE. Lorenzo reached the age of 30 years old. Far longer than any doctor ever expected for the lifespan of someone with ALD.

  • you are close minded, you cant give up on people with out a chance to save them, what if a miricale occurs and the "suffering" ones live

  • What if the miracle doesn't happen in a year or two maybe three and during that time the suffered ones will be induring more pain and suffering?

  • well that is the choice if who love the ''suffering'' one and the may be rewarded or their choice may be a grave choice, but no one should go with out a try and if they cant be saved, maybe the efforts of one to survive may lead to a discovery like in Lorenzo's case. he lived until he was about 30 years old and found a way to help those with ALD. he lived a long live for ALD kid's standards and his parents helped him and other kids reduce the suffering ALD has/would've caused them.

  • Fine, if you or someone you know has a mysterious diseases and you decide to investigate it and find a cure for it then good luck and God be with you. I on the other hand if was on the path of becoming a veg, I want to be put out like an injured horse. I will not live to be someone's burden.

  • i feel the same way, but if it were some one like Lorenzo, whose parents decided to find a cure, then okay, but...

  • But what? His parents did it and they found it, amazing huh? Not scientists not a band of doctors looking to get the credit for a famous something, caring and concern parents. Can you beat that?

  • yeah, that just proves my point that you should do the impossible for you love ones because miricales happen and everything happens for a reason

  • If my loved ones asked me to I will search but if they told me not to keep them alive then that is there wishes as for me ME! I decided what I will do or not do to my body. If the miracle happens wonderful and if not then God is telling me to come home to Him.

  • thats what I said before

  • hey, knock off your crap!!!

I'm a miracle! I survived from a cancer called Rhabomyasarcoma, and I started treatment when I was 3 weeks old!!!

If you don't beleive me, go to UCI Irvine and read about it!!!

  • in what context are you using the word miracle.

  • I Did The Impossible!!!

I survived when everyone's hopes were lost!!!!

  • We don't understand cancer completely yet.........

  • Well, that's another story...

All I'll say is...NEVER GIVE UP!!!!

  • @TinyRoseTamer thats cool man, congratulations. but cancer is something that we have a much better understanding of than this disease. and cancer doesnt render you completely immobile and in as much pain as this boy. i am firmly against euthanasia but if i was the parent of this boy, i would discard my beliefs. he just doesnt deserve that much suffering. nobody does.

  • @midkniteQ That's very nice of you!

*It's only when you give up, that's the end*

  • @leela194 If God existed there wouldn't be such pain for such innocent souls. If that's your God, screw him.

  • @Kaiuchka God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains; it is His megaphone to rousea deaf world.- C.S. Loewis. If there is a God don't assume that you know better then Him.

  • @manicmedic86 I'm so lucky there isn't.

  • @Kaiuchka :o(

  • @leela194 Well without medical assistance to keep people who are suffering alive, God decides for them to die...and we being under him should allow it to happen. Lorenzo was kept alive with feeding tubes and medication, if it was really the will of God he would have died as a child which would have spared him of his suffering. As for "suffering is apart of life" yes it is, but so is death and I believe death should occur and even helped when suffering goes above human endurance.

  • this part made me cry.. this is just so sad

  • And disturbing!! :S

  • that mom pisses me off so much shes such a stuck up bitch.

  • What the sister said to her brother in law there is true. Makala was "losing it" for a while.

  • Well I'm no biology student nor geneticist but i am a father of ten children one of witch we lost to a horseback accident. My wife and i have started a home base business, We sell young living essential oils that is why we are watching this.

  • Although I have compassion for their pain, they are keeping him alive for themselves; not for him. As a nurse, i've seen this happen and it's not fair to the patient.

  • You cant just drop somebody a human bean, like if you were taking a subject at school and u see you are going to fail, you drop it...this is life, not a game

  • I think Lorenzo wanted to live, after all later on he was able to communicate yes and no, I'm sure that they must've asked him if he wanted to continue living.

  • He didn't sound like that when he was having his episodes, he sounded like he was crying. My heart just tore up in my chest.

  • You have a point, but people do "drop" other people every day. Ever heard of life support machines being switched off?

Relatives are told there is "no hope", although once in a while there is a "miracle" that might get reported in the newspapers.

Nobody is treating this as a game. But at what point would you stop keeping somebody alive? You wouldn't be "dropping" them, you would stop "carrying" them.

  • Well...if you were in his moms shoes, what would you do?

  • Why is the marker in black now? Did they run out of red..?

  • This is the sadest movie ever!!!

  • the voice acting for Lorenzo is the same actress who do the voice over for tommy pickles

  • @jkfd4567 You know now that you mention it..

  • he cries like tommy pickles

  • haha i like the part where he argues in italian

  • ummm i think he is roman.....?

  • Dude, Rome is in Italy lol

  • Noo. he's italian and yup he's speaking italian.

  • Adrenoleukodystrophy is a rarely inherited disease. It is more commonly found in males between the ages of two to ten years old. Once a person has Adrenoleukodystrophy they will die. It can take as little as one year or as long as ten. An enzyme that breaks down fatty acids that lead to the brain doesnt work. The fatty acids will take over the brain and destroy it.

  • *It can take as little as one year or as long as twenty. Lorenzo lived until he was 30 years old. (Treatment withLorenzos oil of course..)

  • um i think it was usaully 24 months on average till death with no treatment

  • oh my god!!! i love that movie! i saw her for the first time when i was 11 years old and i was crying...it's one of the best films ever..

  • is he feeling pain.. y does he scream like that.

  • oh my god!! this movie is awesome! hmm.. this is for my biochemistry filmviewing! h0o
