I remember when I first saw this back when the xbox360's release date was still fresh and barely had any games out for it. I knew that I was going to get this game cause it looked fucking awesome. The whole duck and cover and blind firing from corners feature is pretty badass. Gears of War was truely original and in a league of its own like Halo.

and EPIC (gears creator) says they regret making gears exclusive. so after the trilogy ends of 360 they might just port the trilogy over to PS3. look at Bioshock. had ONLY ON 360 on its case. now 1&2 are on PS3

I don't think Halo has a good story at all. It has such a tour de force multiplayer that really keeps you hooked in, that's its best asset. I've never gotten around to really trying this multiplayer strangely enough, but i here its pretty good as well.

It does look a bit generic, there are quite a lot of games like this out there. Dont get me wrong, im still getting it (short of cash at the moment), but I think you're all forgetting GoldenEye on the N64... that is the best console FPS ever... beats Halo any sodding day. GoldenEye was actually fun to play again and again, and the multiplayer totally rulled, especially with 3 mates and a crate or beer.
