Sr was a good driver in the 80's and 90's, But put him young again and with the competition they have out there today and hay he would be in the same boat as jr is. Lets go Jr when one the hard way buddy and it would be worth all 7 of your dads. Go Dale Jr
This is for the people that say JR sucks. From 2000 until 2006 JR had the 3rd most wins on the circuit. before that he won back to back Busch titles. back then, those championships were much harder to win. he is a good driver. I'm not sure whats going on with him right now, but he is a good driver! he's proven it in the past. Will he ever be dale Sr? No! But, he has never wanted that. This poor guy has so much pressure on him! I really feel sorry for him!
I met Sr in 1992. He was doing a taping for Tnn.after the show he talk to everybody.NO other driver did that.Yes it still hurts and i still miss him beening a the track.
@wyorednek JR should NEVER drive the 3 he is NOT the RACER his daddy was. That number should stay packed away until Jeffrey Earnhardt moves up-he races like his grandpa.
@ICAUCUSREGION6 Jr. drove the #3 car in Nationwide ONLY as a tribute to his dad but he will never drive it in the cup series he has 2 much respect for Dale. and more than lickley the #3 car will NEVER EVER be back in the cup series as long as Richard Childress owns it and also if Dale Hadnt of died jr. woul probably be one hell of a racer
@TimBodie2412 shows u keep up very little. Your right he will never drive it in the Cup but has nothing to do with respect it has to do with #1 RC owns the number & if he had wanted JR for a driver he wouldn't have sent him to HMS & 2nd the 3 is still being used on the 29 car with the driver it belongs with for now. Fact is that the 3 is already being run by RC's grandsons. If Austin moves up to Cup he will in fact bring the number 3 which is fine, Austin is a heck of a driver.
@TimBodie2412 LOL I have to admit that is a new creative excuse for why JR just is not a racer but a driver. JR fans can come up with more excuses than even obama, & that isn't easy. Accept reality JR is a driver-a good one but a driver, he has never been & never will be a racer.
@ICAUCUSREGION6 im accually not a Jr fan 2 me he is just another person out there on the track but i honestly think that if Dale Earnhardt Sr. was still alive Jr, would probably be better he was good before won 2 busch championships but now that dales dead Jr sucks u know
What an amazing song and performance. Randy was the right guy to perform. He was as genuine as they come. A real man who sang for another real man Dale. What a tear-jerker...
On the track Dale never had and never will have an equal. I loved it when he mixed it up and got in the driver's heads. I used to watch the races over at my father in laws house. He was a Mark Martin fan and I Dale. We had good times teasing each other. My father in law cut the tv off when Dale crashed. Said he could'tt watch it even though he hated Dale as a racer. I got a call from my sis that evening that Dale had died. I never met him or knew him personally but I cried. Best ever 3.
Even though he died when I was only 6 years old. I see videos of him racing that my dad recorded and still has, Its like wow a AMAZING driver hits the wall, it dont look hard at all, and then today or even back then racers hit harder and they walk away alive.. :( It dont seem fair why Dale? We will never know.. Just know we are all here for you and your family still today..and he is up there watching over his son..
Still hurts so bad. My childhood hero and idol gone. It was my dream to meet him, and I got to do that. Then it was my dream to meet him again, but then he was gone.
i agree with wwefearstna, i never met the man unfortunately, but till this day i can still tear up thinkin that the one man i idolized besides my dad is gone.
I remember the first time I met Dale we were at the Waffle House eating biscuits shootin' the grizz and i'll be damned if we weren't high as the moon...Southern that is
was this recorded with a lawn mower???!!!!!??!!!! sure does cut in and out like one.

I really didn't care for Dale sr. or his kid, but I do acknowledge the passing of NASCARs greatest driver.
His audacity on and off the track, his skill behind the wheel, and his dedication to his sport and his family.
Take care, Dale.

@Siconyte ,,,Dedication to family??? How many wives did he have? Lots. The only time he took care of his family was after he was a multi-millionaire.
