As a young lad growing up in southern Vermont, I remember watching this show on WGGB 40 from Springfield, MA and then in reruns on what was then CBN (ABC Family nowadays). Scariest bonus round ever because I used to jump every time a player got "struck" by lightning!
I enjoyed the theme songs very much. Reminds me of my crazy date with a lovely girl. She loved this game show too. Many years later I saw her at her hs reunion. Married to some other guy and has kids. Dang I wish it was me.
Simple,if you ever played violin or seen someone who does, you can do it. It's like air guitar but on the shoulder. The reason is that the theme song has a little violin in it.
Is it just me or did some of chords in the BULLSEYE theme song sound a little like the beginning chords to Dexy's Midnight Runners' one-hit wonder "Come On Eileen" ?
This is a very good piece of music. Since it was the eighties & a bright set it's on;y natural that you have catchy music. It inspires many prize cues & win cues with it too; good to have derivative of the main theme rather than a bunch of unrelated music cues. I can already feel myself dancing to this & putting this on if I can't stand regular music. This piece of music gets 5 stars; we'll be humming it to ourselves for the next week.
I sure wish Game Show Network would air reruns of this show again. Better yet, release the damn episodes to DVD (yes, even the ill-fated Celebrity Bullseye broadcasts)
I agree and not only that, release it as a video game along with Tic Tac Dough and The Joker's Wild. Release every episode on DVD,including every celebrity episode.
secondchance, rigged is the camera shot used on the rigged camera at the top of the studio. The director will say "up on camera2, tight shot camera1, up on camera 1." The shot that is on T.V. is the rigged shot. Broadcasting major.
According to Wikipedia, Barry & Enright used the Santa Esmarelda cover of "Please Don't Be Misunderstood" for the Bullseye ($1 Million) pilot. Hal Hidley reworked the song's music score to produce the theme used on the TV show.
Great show, great theme, and even the set was given a thumbs up by Johnny Carson when it was at the NBC studios in Burbank before being moved to Studio 33 at CBS Television City--yes the same Bob Barker Studios used today by TPIR.
Yes, because it was recorded from a vinyl record that Hal Hidey had made of the highlights of the "Bullseye" soundtrack.

@BatmanFan1966 Consider Barry & Enright's track record regarding "Twenty-One" back in the 1950s...

@srosenow98 the best way to get your wish come true is to write GSN a letter and ask them to air Bullseye again.

If you notice at :41, below one of the screens for the audiance it says "RIGGED"
What does it mean? The Quiz Show Scandels again?
secondchance1977 3 years ago
No clue, but since that particular still was from the pilot, would've been OK to rig it.
WhatsAYak 3 years ago 3
I though that Barry-Enright stopped rigging by 1972? Creepy

Maybe the pilot
