i don't think they want to look like some other culture at all. They merely want to express themselves through the way they look. Think about if you were Japanese in Japan, you'd look like every other girl walking down the street, long straight black hair. These are subcultures, much like how the western world have Goths, Punks, Preps, etc. I think it's perfectly fine to dress the way you like if it makes you happy. I doubt that all these people in this vid "hate the fact that they're Japanese"
