  • 1-28-2012. Ain't it fine, ain't it fine? Dan Spitz is 49. Happy Birthday, Dan. You finally caught me (at 49, that is). BTW, I saw Anthrax in November 1988 at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia. They opened up for Ozzy Osbourne.

  • Love the video. Cant help that even though the husband is a bit mad he's also a victim. All 3 of them are to tell the truth. Very thought provoking.

  • I know most of Anthrax songs, but that song is the most beautiful song which Anthrax ever composed.

  • I am a huge Anthrax fan. This is one of my favorite songs.

  • Thank You everybody for keeping up this video. I'm very pleased so many people keep listen quality music !!!!!!!!!!

  • Sound of white noise surprised me. It is so fucken good!

  • this song was the first I heard straight out of boot camp, circa 1993...the precursor of some of the best times of my life...a poetic tragedy of biblical proportions...throw some STP's Core in there and ya might have a suicide!

  • This video and song are so great, I keep coming back and watching it! I'm surprised this slipped by my radar when it first came out.

  • Wasn't Anthrax an East coast band?

  • @slimtwofingers yes. New York.

  • Is that a young Danny Trejo I see in this video?

  • @jaehaus Or the guy from the Black Eyed Peas? Ha ha ha.

  • @jaehaus Nope. Danny Trejo had pock marks on his face even in the early nineties. This guy is just too smooth in the face. He does look like he could be related though.

  • twin peaks!s

  • twin peaks!

  • i hate music videos where u can barely see the ppl in the band

  • ighhhhhhhhhhhhhhh u can barelyyyyyyyyyyy hear it. people......... fix the damn volume levels. it is not that hard.

  • smoke reefer lol

  • Great song!!

  • Gotta have it anyway. It´s more or less the same as living in Portugal nowadays..

  • Very undervalued Anthrax release. Joey Belladonna is great singer for Anthrax but Bush really added an element that was missing from the band. Such a great album from start to finish.

  • Thumbs up if this is your favorite Anthrax album!

  • After seeing this video all i can say now is..........I really want to bang Jenna Elfman!!!!!Oh and this song Kicks Ass.

  • Haha, hahahaha wtf with the smoke reefer tip in text during the vid

  • Watching Anthrax Black Lodge Suggestions

    Dave Mustaine drinks Slayer's urine!

    Thanks youtube!

  • Oh mama! And Dharma!! Whoooooooo. . . . ..

  • Great song sounds like The Moody Blues though!

  • It is inspired by Twin Peak!

  • love it.

  • 8 fu**ers with no F4cking ears.

  • is that danny Trejo? machete?

  • talentless way to pay tribute to twin peaks vibe. cheap crap

  • 3:34

i thought that was an ass. lol

  • We all love Dharma

  • one of the best metal songs n i think its highly under-rated song

  • I used to make love to Jenna Elfman back in the day. She wasn't there for any of it, but it happened for sure.

  • @mrbobawesome For a while i've called my hand Jenna.

  • @alphaboy79 Hey, you stay away from girl! ;)

  • @alphaboy79 epic...

  • @alphaboy79 me too

  • @mrbobawesome In your dreams you did...

  • @BadHabitsDieHard Oh no my friend, I was awake for it.

  • underrated album

i actually prefer this album over P.O.T.

  • My name is Annie. I've been with Laura and Dale. The good Dale is in the Lodge, and he can't leave. Write it in your diary.

  • There was a video on here with an extended remix of this song and clips of Twin Peaks, I wonder what happened to it

  • Why are there comments on politics or politicians here? Is it because the singer's surname is Bush? I CAN'T believe there are adults posting here. BRILLIANT SONG!!!

  • and for those that don't know, go watch "Twin Peaks"... that's where's the inspiration comes from

  • Just one of those anthrax tunes that always stuck

  • @lonomac rofl

  • what a strange and beautiful combination, Badalementi & Anthrax..

unexpected edges for both sides.. and the result is damn fine..

  • i love this song... reminds me of being on cocaine or heroin...

  • wtf darma and greg girl

  • Kick ass song !!!

  • With Bush or Belladonna Anthrax is really a great band!!!

  • This so means so much. When i first heard it i was going through a difficult patch. My mam was suffering from depression, tried to kill herself and ended up in a rehabilation centre. She was suffering from Insomnia and this song summed everything thing up for me. It was me witnessing the demise of my mother.

Thankfully everything got better and shes fine now. Thank you Anthrax for giving me hope during a very dark time. I'm so proud of my mam never giving up. I'm so grateful of this.

    Thank you

  • Awesome

  • anyone that doesn't like and appreciate this song is fucked and doesn't know good music.

  • @sisqokidd .... ABSOL.... F*ckin' ...... UTELY

  • LOL smoke reefer

  • Very sad song.remionds me of "Falling Down" the movie.Has to be no.8

    on my al time favorites.

  • Finally I can say that I love Anthrax AND the girl in the video. One of the gorgeous women on earth in a song which is one of the most unexpected, yet creative peak of an insane-speed-tempo group like Anthrax. Too bad it probably was too hard to swallow if you're 14. Luckily I was in mid 20s when I listened it. (Ok, I admit, I'm a fan since '86 :) )

  • @gswzero My Girlfriend looks JUST LIKE her! I love it! But it disturbing to watch this vid, but I play it on the jukebox whenever we go out. LOL

  • @roosterIX What can I say.. you're a happy man.

  • @gswzero LOL! VERY much so.

  • Different vain for Anthrax with John Bush.

  • finally i found this song again.

thanks, ive been searching for this song for decades lol

  • Twin Peaks AND Anthrax. Best combo ever. If Agent Cooper made a cameo or even did backup vocal that'd be it, I would never stop listening to this song.

  • I love this vid.The guy is trying so hard to bring his wife's memory back!

  • This is my fave song by Anthrax

  • I am NOT someone who is traditionally into these types of bands, but for THIS song, I must make an exception....F'n brilliant!!

  • Use to listen to this when I was in highschool. One of my fav balads.

  • Great video and song. I feel that the lady in the video suffers from Alzheimer's. I think the gentleman in the video is trying to "bring her back" through the use of the test subjects. Hence, all the picture of the young blond women on the wall at the end.

  • this lady seems like she suffers from depression i know how she feels

  • This song is the song of the decade. Kicks maximum ass!!!!!!!!

  • Great song! Great video! I almost forgot about it. This is a perfect example of why people truly loved music videos were upset when MTV stopped playing videos. Now, instead of seeing thought provoking mini movies over awesome songs, we get... Room Crashers or whatever the frig the name of the crap is.

  • Hell, MTV had quit playing good videoslong before this song. The only time it was shown was on Headbangers Ball. MTV fukkin sucks...

  • Damn i havent seen this vid in yrs. Memories

  • sick vid

  • bad ass song, reminds me old days in high school

  • there's a reason why the only one of the 3 of the big fpur that could do an alternative metal album that was good is anthrax... john bush

risk and load aren't as bad as almost everyone said, thay had some good songs but at least the half of the tracks are pure crao, this album is GREAT

  • @deraickripper

I disagree sir. Load was a load of something alright. Can't comment on Risk, only heard bits of it in passing. I do agree that White Noise was a fine album though, I wore that cassette out.

  • Great stuff, this is what made being a teen in the '80s/ ''90s great!

How about the metal-head lerking around behind the front seat, lol, you've got to watch out for that!

  • @hollywood5one50 - "Daddy - you are strange - it's funny - we like it"..

  • This song was written about the Black Lodge in Twin Peaks (David Lynch)

  • Very true. A lot of the songs on this album were Lynch/Twin Peaks inspired... but this one took the most direct approach.

And Angelo Badalamenti, the composer of all the Twin Peaks music [as well as other Lynch film scores], contributed with Anthrax in the writing of this song.

Very cool stuff. I haven't seen this video in over a decade... thank you, alphaboy79.

  • yea...Frank Silva (Bob) is in the Only video from Anthrax

  • @theenigmajjames Where?

  • @donnieandsarah watch the 'Only' video...towards the end..theres Franks face turning around and doing a bunch of crazy shit...if you still dont see it then let me know and Ill get it down to the second for you

  • @theenigmajjames ok, for some reason, I was thinking of the man from another place from twin peaks. yeah, evil bob is in it.

  • Heavy!

  • Sick song. Stirs the listener strange emotions. Brrrr. Love it :)

  • that freakin is jenna elfman!

  • Known and loved this song for years and just realized that's Jenna Elfman! Crazy!

  • well, it looks like Lady Liberty is still comatose

  • Comment removed

  • this isn't a cover...

  • My mistake. I was confused by the liner notes of this album that give Angelo Badalamenti (David Lynch's composer) a writing credit for this song. Turns out it was a colaboration. Thanks for correcting.

  • I don't think this is a cover. If so, who wrote the original???????

  • ok evianalmighty umm i think i speak on behalf of everyone when i say ur a complete douche

  • does everyone know that this show is about twin peaks?

  • Yes, the man behind this sonng and soundtrack of twin peaks is Angelo Badalamenti. This song is AWESOME!

  • Jenna Elfman!!!

  • the truth is that i prefer the records with belladona but sound of white noise is as great as the older records it owns ass!

  • Best Video! EVER!

  • awesome song, one of the best by this great band !

  • Unlike America, Anthrax is better with Bush.

  • LOL..and true...

i liked his vocals SOOOOOoooooo much more.

sound of white noise blew me away (and i was like 12-13?)

  • @Dendu77 LMAO hell yeah!!

  • @Dendu77 NOT!

  • @Dendu77 What the hell? Take Obama's balls off your chin and drop the politics. It's a song that has NOTHING to do with politics jackass.

  • @danimal97520 So because I don't like Bush I must be an Obama fan? Guess what I don't like Obama either. Oh and it was a joke. Look at you taking things so seriously.

  • @Dendu77 good coment

and Obama has done so much better =)

  • @Dendu77

and Obama has done so much better =)

    good comment

  • @Dendu77 ... Bet you miss him as President now.

  • @Nerfball6 Are you on crack? Bush was one of the worst presidents ever. Obama's approval ratings are higher than his were at the end. So no, people don't miss him.

  • @Nerfball6 ummmm.... NO!

  • @Dendu77 Oh Snap lol

  • @Dendu77 I agree. I started to think Belladonna wasn't too bad but then I heard him try and do a Bush song. Killed it for me.

  • @Dendu77 both are false

  • @Dendu77 I meant both are worse

  • Sound of White Noise, such lovely record, such nostalgia.

  • The most telling line: "My love for you knows no distance/But it can't fight your resistance"

I absolutely wore this song out when I first heard it! What I like--in addition to the strong vocals and supporting instrumentation--is how this songs creeps up on you and gets into every fiber of your being.

  • Such a great song that it got my sister to listen to Anthrax and now shes a big fan. Anthrax is way underrated as is the song.

  • Fucking DOPE ass song, god i love Anthrax!

  • Great song.

Jenna Elfman is the most beautiful woman in the world! <3

  • totally weird video but awesome song!!

  • haven't heard the new kid yet, but i will miss john's vocals.

  • The new guy sounded like an unbelievable fuckhead.

Glad they got rid of him really.

  • dig that headbangers ball is now garbage.............kerrang too (you me at six wtf???)

  • i remember being a kid and watching headbangers ball on mtv (when it was still a good channel) and always seeing anthrax or alice in chains on it, loved this song.

  • same here

  • beautiful

  • Does anyone know what is going on here in this video? lol I love this goddamn song, probably their best ever and Anthrax fucking rules period, but what is going on here? lol

  • it seems to be a theme of eternal youth, or trying to preserve that. very twin peaksish as some have posted. I also wonder if the scene where they abduct the young girl was inspired loosely by the hillside stranglers who plagued hollywood in the late 70's

  • I believe it's a social commentary on the shallowness of the human condition with regards to the need for external validation of our aesthetics and the vanity that compels some of us. Also, I concur, Anthrax does "fucking rule".

  • He is attempting to recover her memory by unlocking the mind with another. In other words attempting to add personality that was never there to begin with.

  • That seems to make the most sense really

  • it seems to me that the old rich bitch is trying to relive his young days...

anyway, this song has that Twin Peaks kind of weirdness on it,and even the video, and I think it was co-written with Angelo Badalamenti who actually wrote the music in Twin Peaks. I'm pretty sure about this.

  • grrrrrrrr,obviously it's HER young days...

  • Well, it's not a coincidence that the song is called Black Lodge.

  • I gotta be honest, I was about 13 when Bush took over, and Sound of White Noise to me is an amazing album. However, I can't really listen to any of the other Anthrax stuff....primarily because of the vocals. Bush brought that (at the time) more modern feel to the band, as opposed to the 80's sound.

Great vid, thx for posting. I remembered there being a cute girl in it, but would've had no idea it was Jenna Elfman...she looks so young there.

  • I love this Twin Peaks inspired song (they even had Angelo Badalamenti compose the score for it!), but I can't help but feel parts of it are similar (not the same) as "I want to know what love is" by Foreigner...

  • jenna elfman in the video, what a babe

  • Watch the twin peaks series and movies. This song was written about them.

  • Oh come on, this is just another great song from Anthrax. It´s no matter who sings...this song is just great and the video is great too.

There is no need to discuss who is or was the best singer for Anthrax. Just enjoy the song. Otherwise be a little Nobody who want to be a Metalhead...

and thanks for uploading this video...

  • man, that video's quite something. i didn't really like the song till i saw the video

  • I also like the fan made video which takes the song to another level.

  • Just like Van Halen, 2 different versions of the band both equally good in their own respects. period. Remember the reunion with Belladonna didn't happen because of Belladonna's unwillingness to commit.

  • This is ok, but "Among The Living" is my fave Anthrax song. Hell, I preferred Stormtroopers Of Death anyway.

  • next to ONLY,this is another good song with singer JOHN BUSH...BUT NO ONE CAN REPLACE BELLADONNA AND ANYONE WHO IS A FAN OF ANTHRAX WILL AGREE

  • I'll disagree! Bush is a much better singer! Joey's voice was getting irritating!

  • dont get me wrong,BUSH IS A GOOD SINGER,,,BUT NOTHING CAN REPLACE THE ORIGINAL LINEUP... ITS LIKE METALLICA WITHOUT JAMES HETFIELD,,,OR TESTAMENT WITHOUT CHUCK BILLY,,, OR ARMORED SAINT WITHOUT JOHN BUSH,,,BELLADONNAS BEST WAS PERSISTENCE OF TIME...

  • The original lineup was with Neil Turbin, not Belladonna...

  • I've loved this song since it was first released. Never knew, until now, just how disturbing the video was.

  • Sound advice from the 420 guy in there. I Really enjoyed those John Bush CDs. Peace,rEVOLution&1Love CJT76'

  • Who the hell randomly put "smoke Reefer" in ther video?

  • Alphaboy79 did :V

  • Angelo Badalamenti "black strings mix" kicks even more ass.... this song make me wanna stalk a bitch! j/k :)

  • this song will always be GREAT in my book

  • It's so amazing how these guys can make such a great calm song and be one of the best thrash bands of all times. Everything they do sounds just perfect.

  • It's so sad how often theis happens!

  • one of the best fucking all time metal bands.

  • Perfect song , best Anthrax album !

  • This songs awesome...so is Anthrax

  • Na I haven't but i'll look for it now....

  • I don't know if this is the best Anthrax song ever but i do know that i liked them much better when John Bush was singing for them.. Joey Belladonna was too 80s metally and i doubt the band would have been as popular as they were in the 90s had they not changed singers.

  • i completely agree! I also liked Rob! Any chance you saw their DVD "Music of Mass Destruction"? It's quite good. Rob was hilarious in it!

  • Symbol of Salvation is better then anything Bush did with Anthrax in the 90's.

  • I agree. Symbol of Salvation is perfect on every level and is probably what convinced Anthrax to get rid of Joey for John.

  • I really liked the whole album SOWN. Always thought john Bush was a great singer.

If you get the chance go check out 2 new vids by Baltimore's VSD, recorded live in 1987. VSD- Mental Breakdown and Girl Troubles. Then you can veiw the other 3 videos. Good, heavy music.

  • I loved all 5 videos by VSD you mentioned. " Girl troubles" had a cool drum intro and "Mental breakdown" had a really catchy guitar riff and vocals. VSD rocks hard.

  • does anyone else get the twin peaks reference? This whole song is based on twin peaks. Someone was obviously a fan lol.

  • Apparently Angelo Badalamenti even helped write it

  • wasnt this song written for and featured in an episode?

  • after the show ended im pretty sure.one of the band members was friends with the producer or somethin.dunno if the story is still on wikipedia
