a stock gsr 600 : will stop accelerate at 12.000rpm in 6 gear !

But if you change your front sprocket into a smaller one ..

Your gsr will go up to 13.500 rpm in 6 gear !

This is the only thing your speed display will calculate !!

because it calculates on the engine , and not on the front wheel anymore !!

Your rear wheel will have a total diffrent speed than your display will show !

And in this case it will be slower !!

Normally the gsr 600 only goes around 225km/h

But for this clip

There a 2 possibilties :

1-You changed the gearing FOR BETTER acceleration !!

Your display will lie to you !

Because with the electric display , the speed is calculated on the engine rotations and NOT on the front wheel !!!

So, the display will NOT know about the change in gearing !

This means you wil see 255 on the display , but in reality it is only 230 !

2- Or you changed a lot in your engine

Because you get higher engine rotations , your display will show a higher speed ! but your rear wheel will make less rotations , because you changed its gearing!

You probably bought a used bike ! and are not informed that die gearing is changed on your bike

You are right on the part that 258km/h is surely not stock performance,engine/transmition wise,but a stock GSR can exceed 230 km/h on a straight road.I usually get between 215-235 km/h depending on road,weather conditions etc.But given that i'm 1.85m,95kg and i its a naked bike a lighter,shorter rider can get 240.A friend who is 1.70m,65kg got 243km/h on my bike.

PS Speedometers always lie.

not 92,,,,02 as in 2002. older or not, it still has a power, weight and areodynamic advantage over the gsr600. And the gsr600 in standard form is 90hp. I've tested one before in the interest of bying it.. the dealer told me,,,and motorcyclespecs and wiki also rates the GSR600 at 90hp. I'm not saying you didn;t go that fast, you have a video to show that you did..I'm just saying I dont understand how. It's way about rated top speed.

A normal gsr goes 237 at 132000prm max.I found a way to free the prm of my bike and hit 14500.You can see it.The 1200 prm diference is 22 klm more......237+22=259 klm/h...It is so simple.....

I see...so it's not normal.. You'd have to be pulling more HP. Because even if you remove the engine's Rev restricter, if you only have 90 or so, the engine still won't have the power to fight the wind resistance. And thus won't go much faster than normal.... But In anycase, you did it.. Perhaps I should have bought a GSR600.

The engine is the same with gsxr k5.Gsr-600 is an old gsxr with short gearbox....and with the ability to reprogram the oem enjine brain!!!!!!(yoshimura program)....I left the oem exsaust cause i want more power lower...and reprogram the brain.I help you a lot?Gsr is gsxr,and gsxr k-5 is immortal!!!!!!

The GSR is not the GSXR! The Airintake, the mapping, the ecu, the gearbox,...

I know a tuner that shortens the airintakes and remaps the ecu für getting 100Hp on the rearwheel. Thats about 110Hp enginepower at all.

But this does not let the GSR hit 258Kph. It even does not give more then 5kph topspeed. The only way to get it run into limiter in 6th gear is to give one teeth less ;) And thats what you did. Anyway this is fake, speedohealer can do that

@parkschein111 my gsr's speedo is out so when i'm doing 110km/h according to the speedo im actually doing about 100km/h. So if his gsr has the same problem take about 25km/h off the top speed giving it the more realistic top speed. Long story short the speedo has gotten him excited.
