i like your entertainment setup im getting a Onkyo 7.1 1000watt home theater receiver at the end of next month and sometime in the summer of this year im getting a 60" AQUOS SHARP and im going to be inviting people over alot for Football,Basket Ball, Hockey,Wrestling and movies and as well playing PS3 and the Wii so its going to be awesome and fun just like how much your having fun with your entertainment center

torn between onkyo or a Sony receive. Since i got rid off my 5.1. logitech and downgraded to a 2.1 it just isn't the same. Your vid is influencing to upgrading to a 5.1. onkyo. Nice set up.

i admire you're setup. but I have a question. if you play a game on your ps3, will you be able to listen through the speakers? how does the process work? i just bought a bravia home theatre system.

I just connect the theatre system to my tv and my ps3 to the tv, will that do or do i have to hookup the ps3 with the theatre system?

@Gordingracht I quess it mostly depends on your set up. Some of the newer systems might be able to use somekind of passthrough system to make it work.

Yes thats one way making it work. Have the PS3 connected to the TV and not the Receiver. but then you would have to switch the connection back to the receiver if you wanted to listen the the ps3 audio..

Hard question because everyone has different setup.. try googling something like "listening to audio source while playing ps3"

You need to determine what connections you have on you system. Ps3 can output audio through optical and HDMI. You can use both at the same time (hdmi to tv, optical to audio system. You need to set the PS3 up for it though. Default, both audio and video are through the HDMI). Then you need to determine what audio outputs your tv has, and what inputs are available on the theathre system. Consult your manual!

@Gordingracht That should do. I hooked the theatre up to the TV with A/V cables, and hooked up ps3 to TV with HDMI. I also hooked a computer up. All sound comes out of my home theatre.

@Mikrobitz I haven’t experienced any problems with the receiver. I heard that the 308 and 508 are the ones with the heating problems? I could be mistaken though. And I haven’t had problems with sound =)
