  • and a fan from Macon, GA came away with that ball!

  • I listend to Skip Carey broadcasting the Braves home games when I was a child. I did not know about him passing away in 2008. He will be remembered always. Thanks, Skip. Go Braves.

  • i cried like a baby :( i miss you skip.. i grew up hearing your wonderful voice call the best team ever.. R.I.P.

  • They should have removed their hats long before the national anthem. We miss you Skip, some of my best childhood memories was watching the Braves on TV with my dad. Thanks for the memories Skip. BRAVES WIN!

  • long live skip carey he is atlanta braves baseball

  • RIP Skip. I miss you man!

  • The Carray legacy of baseball anouncing will always be remembered

  • It's the damn red jerseys that did this to u. we where the best till 05 came with those jerseys and after 05 we haven't been in the playoff ever again. now with skip, the whole team is dieing. cuting glavin, smolts traded chipper not hitting 20 homers this season. hopefuly Jiar will be the next Maddux, hanson shall be the next glavin. Martin finally came through. But chip dosen't geting in to it as much a skip did. skip screamed and was a fan no an annoucer and u don't get that any more.

  • With Skip died the second great era of baseball. We will never see those days again.

  • I use to watch the Braves when i was about 7 or 8, well still do but I loved when they came on TBS with Skip and Ernie.I would have pretend games in the yard and do my best Skip Cary and Ernie Johnson impersonations when I played. LOL, those were the good ole days.

  • I was at this game. The Cubs fans were obnoxious (no offense to the cool ones), but I wanted to go mainly to see this. I was trying so hard not to cry.

  • Skip Caray was as good a play by play man as I've ever heard, and he was funny as the dickens. I was so shocked when I heard he had died- for some reason, I never thought of him as being 68 years old (or whatever he was)--I started listening to him around 1977, I guess. Ya did a great job, Skip, we'll miss you!

  • You know, I can't wait til I go hear the perfect broadcast team Harry and Skip together

  • I'm a Cubs fan and remember this game. We totally anihilated you guys, both games. But really, that wasn't the highlight for me in the second game. The highlight for me was the tribute held for Skip.

Like I said in another comment, I'm a Cubs / Braves guy, thanks to my grandpa and uncle. Always been associated with the Caray's and developed a deep love and admiration for all three. They provided a special connection to fans not many others could, Skip was no different.

    RIP Skip Caray :(

  • why mention the anhilation then

  • I'm not trying to rub it in, at all. But 18-2 in two games is, indeed, an anihilation.

If you guys won by that margin, I'd have said you guys anihilated us. Did not mean to offend if I did :)

  • its aight. i wasnt really serious so my b. point is it sucks that he died
