  • I have seen this loco, but in BR Black at 61572 at Steam on the Met in 2000 and then at York 'Railfest' in 2004. I hope to see it in apple green sometime soon.

  • I hated it in BR livery. It ruins the whole respect of a B12/3. Hopefully it'll be in it's rightful LNER colours.

  • Thats the plan! :o)

  • @peter8121 Yay! :D

  • @crazyracer12 - it looks magnificent in its LNER livery once more..

its almost complete, finishing touches being applied...

  • @traintelevision Hooray! :D

  • This is the loco that belongs on the North Norfolk Peter, a wonderful piece of vintage footage which was very enjoyable to watch.....Bob

  • Thanks Bob…. Yes the B12’s homecoming is eagerly awaited by many - myself included!

Glad you enjoyed the archive despite the inferior video quality from the time.

  • Great engine been keeping tabs on the overhaul progress she's gotta be back by September this year at least be great to hear her pounding up the Heath again. Must try an get a footplate trip on her. Great archive Peter. :D

  • September would be great Philip however the completion of ‘Flying Scotsman’ is currently priority at Riley’s…. I guess the B12’s final assembly and testing will follow!

  • A beautiful locomotive when first built, given improved draughting (by Thompson I think). One railwayman's auto biography mentions that there was too much of a distance from the tender to the firehole, which meant having to take an extra step... but I don't really know if this is true.

  • brilliant, can't wait for her return

  • Not long to wait now hopefully!
