Madcon's version - who I much admire - had the benefit of a more modern production technology. For its time, the Shocking Blue version was as riffy and beat-led as their other tracks, and creatively updated the Valli version.

@everythingsreal that ain't the original the original is the four seasons and if you listen to that you will see how close the madcon version is to it, basically madcon did a total ripoff whereas shocking blue at least gave it a spin, but hey I'm not hating on madcon they revived this great song for a whole new generation that will hopefully learn about the four seasons and how music actually use to be good at one point...

@nkbelge Correct! Mariska Veres. With her family (Hungary) roots, her voice tells some Dutch sound from the city called: The Hague aka. Den Haag or 's Gravenhage.

First thing is, look at who wrote the song. Bob Gaudio, original Four Seasons member and half of The Four Seasons Partnership for over 40 years, and Peggy Farina (Santiglia) of The Angels.

The Madcon version follows The Four Seasons arrangement quite closely. The violins are either identically arranged or sampled form the original recording by The Four Seasons.

On the right (white jacket) is bass player Henk Smitskamp, also played in the Motions (Robbie van Leeuwen's first group). On the other side is drummer Cor van Beek, who died a few years later. The third man is unfamiliar to me.
