  • Great art work!!! This is what I used to listen to when I was little. Love it!!! thanks for posting. Can we have more on Youtube please???

  • heddso:

Thanks. You see how one can get a wrong impression. Truthly, I did think the man did act a little strange, not looking fondly at the wife, like that husband in "Sad Love."

Anyway, the singer here is very good and graceful in her "sewing."

  • Hi

It's about bother and elder sister, not a couple. The man is reading while the sister is sewing (embroidery), presenting a happy family life and three (widowed Mum , sister and brother).

  • @EarthaKit2 in fact it's not "sewing" ,it's "embroid".

  • I like it - very pleasing.

What is she singing? She seems very happy- the husband is staying near her/ So there must be SOMETHING in this marriage.

    A Latina

  • It's not about a love story, but a family one. brother and sister, also their sigle mother(I believe) is mentioned, the sister is doing housing staff and supporting the study of her brother and their mother, but she is also warring about her coming marriage, because she has to live with her husband in the near future, in this case, her brother and mother will be untended.

  • I would tend for him... how handsome!

  • yes! love it! Amazing!!!

and someone knows what to tell the actress in her dialogue??

  • though it's sung in Mandarin, it somehow sounds different from the ones of Bejining and other regions.. oh,, i see HuangSheng.. mouth-pipe organ is played on the back!! i really really love Xian-opera and Xi-an culture!! it's very special for me! thanks so much for sharing this wonderful video!!

  • It is sung in Shaanxi dialect and called Qin Qiang. Qin stands for Shaanxi, and Qiang means accent, so Qin Qiang is an Chinese Opera sung in Shaanxi accent. Qin Qiang is well known as the oldest Chinese Opera with a history as long as thousands of years. By the way, Xi'an is the capital city of Shaanxi.

    Welcome you to Xi'an!!
